anal stretching?

I recently was reading some articles whose authors ("experts") warned against the excessive/prolonged use of butt-plugs and the insertion of dildos into the anus, due to the possibilty of stretching and loosening of the anal area. While I realize that the dimensions and prescribed use of the aneros differs from those of the aforementioned objects, I wonder if there are dangers in common...specifically due to the fact that that aneros sessions can be quite lengthy. Has anyone noticed any unwanted after-effects ( stretching, leakage, damage, loss of control, etc.)? If the possibility does exist, any way to prevent them? Thank you all, in advance

All OK here.
I have used Helix and MGX couple of hours a week for over 2 years.
Just took delivery of a Progasm Ice last month.
Thats a bit of a stretch but all is OK.
The Progasm is the current weapon of choice.
Relax, plenty of lube, gentle pressure and breathe.
In she slides.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !

Could you please provide a link to the article? I've had no side effects so far, but I'm not a long time user yet.

Hi FW,
Certainly a valid concern since an anal tear is something you don't need. There are no awards for dilating yourself to the maximum of your physical limit. While there are stories of guys who are in diapers, having broken their bodies by ill advised anal ventures, I've not heard that associated with Aneros use.

I came here with limited experience in anal recreation and only occasional adventures with the medical folks, the most challenging of which were a rigid proctoscope, aka "Silver Stallion," in the 1960s. Also a couple of hemorrhoid bandings. I'm probably your poster 'boy' for this question with less elasticity than our average user. I can accommodate any of the Aneros tools. I've just followed the package and Wiki instructions and, in the case of Progasm have responded to tips, coaching and suggestions from others in this forum.

The Aneros experience is excellent with regard to anal health because, as experience is gained, we all get a degree of muscle building to accompany our gains in elasticity. This seems to balance out into a rather transperant and well co-ordinated gain in strength and capacity. Few of us have continuing hemorrhoid issues. These physical gains are atypical of butt plug or static vibrator use.

I'd suggest though that you do explore some of the other anal toys in the marketplace to get an idea of your capacity. I know my own numbers ad when a toy is advertised at a particular size, I have an excellent feel for how well I'll do with it.

Just lube generously at first, ask for help when you need it and, ENJOY!

Hello Fortwayne, 🙂

As a user of Aneros and dildo's. I can assure you that Aneros prostate massager's encourage the muscle strengthening of the anal canal. While dildo's seem to do the opposite of encouraging relaxing the anal muscles to accommodate the relatively static size. (I'd assume butt plugs would fit into this category, but I'm not sure never having used them) I only occasionally use my dildo at this point, versus regular use of my Aneros toys. And it takes time and patience to get that dildo in when it hasn't been used in a while, as my anal muscles seem so well conditioned/strengthened from the Aneros toys. I've never had any leakage or perceived loosening of my canal muscles from Aneros usage. It's really quite the opposite.

Sometime in the last two years we did have a member with chronic insertion and pain difficulty. IIRC it was eventually determined by his physician to be a congenital situation that made anal play inadvisable. We also have an active participant in the Forum who has a uniquely shaped canal. To the best of my knowledge he is able to participate in the Aneros experience.

As usual, if something "unique" happens, see your doc.

Sorry for the confusion -- gotta blame it on a senior moment. .... rook

i have been using good sized dildos(about 2 in. in diameter) and the occasional butt plug (quite a bit bigger than 2 in) for about 10 years now and have not noticed any kind of permenant stretching. i think you would have to use something bigger than what i use for hours a day to really stretch it so bad it wont go back. im by no means an expert this is just my opinion. i really doubt you have anything to worry about.

I've been "stretching" with fairly large sized items for years, and (so far at least) I haven't had any problems. Having said that, I would be interested in reading more studies.

Hmmm, after the Chat last nite, have decided on going for the Vice. Want to loosen up a bit fore-and-aft to be ready for the Vice's base (stem).

Our largest is a generous motorized Jack Rabbit --- hand-me-down from my wife. Haven't inserted it since my early Aneros days. Main issue is that it's circular in cross section. IIRC the Corona on the Glans was way exaggerated but the Clit tickler did a nice number on my sack.

Possibly just the head of the Progasm is a good option.

Any suggestions for a brand/source of a dildo, roughly 1" width by 1.25" fore and aft. ???

Is this a mis-type? I interpret what you are asking for as a little stubby dildo 1 inch wide by 1.25 inches insert-able length? Perhaps a butt plug of the right dimensions would fulfill this need?

Tks guys for the suggestions:

My error -- was thinking in standing body co-ordinates not in the co-ordinates of the tool. (90 degrees displaced)

However, no longer an issue. Have adopted the neck of the Progasm as meeting the need. This will be day-3 in my 'stretching' program. Lube up, insert just to the neck and move it gently once and a while. Goal is 3 hrs of gentle stretching each day. Yesterday was easy -- football games prevented boredom.

Learned:
-a lonely prostate is tough to deal with --- there is a phenomenal urge to insert.
-got a PM from a Forum member, "You should check with your local pharmacy. Most carry or can get Anal Dilation plugs, just for this purpose."
-Best lube for this seems to be Vaseline (ugh for cleanup but the warm soft sudsy bathbrush offers it's own delights) 🙂

Progress to date:
-Day-two was, easier than day-one. The residual discomfort this morning was less than yesterday.

To answer fortwayne's orignal question -- all seems to be working fine. Unleashed the morning load of poop this morning with no discomfort. Velocity seemed a bit on the fast side, perhaps due to the residual lube. Visual guess at the diameter of the load -- bit larger than usual. Backdoor slammed shut quite properly when I was done.

Prognosis: Think I'm gonna make it with just a bit of sweat (not your basic, "no-sweat" undertaking)

Mantra: No-pain, no-gain. Just do it.
