Alert! Somebody Might Be Planting a Virus/Trap + Some Strange "New Members"

Greetings Friends,

Just right now (May 14, 2021, US Eastern Time 8:31 PM) I found something peculiar: it appears that somebody might be trying to plant a virus or vicious trap into this Forum!

When I checked out and clicked on my friend SoWithoutAneros's thread "Open Collection of Visual...Aless" (currently on page 2 of "General Discussion"), all of a sudden a BIG RED Page (perhaps alerted by my computer's antivirus software) that shows: "Deceptive Site Ahead" popped up!!!

 

Plus, some strange (very, very long) names of "New Members" keep poping up in the "Online Members" side-menu (e.g. Online Casino, Reopening...etc.)???

(last time it was "Fake diploma" "language school"...etc.!)

I hope the Aneros Team could look into these strange phenomena ------ SOON!

@Gulliver-Plus, I opened the thread you referenced and scrolled through all four pages but did not encounter any red flag warnings/alerts, so I'm not aware of your concerns there. However, since many posts include URL links to third party websites it is very possible some of those sites could be dangerous to visit so having your own anti-virus software operational is a good idea.

I'm pretty sure these 'new' members are just SPAMbots. It is my understanding that registration for any new members is an automatic process and thus these SPAMbots can get registered and subsequently may show up on the members listings. However, any new threads must first be approved by Aneros Support before they get posted to the forum, that is why we rarely see any SPAM threads actually posted as Aneros Support doesn't approve them for posting and I presume they subsequently delete or ban that new membership.

I'm pretty confident that Aneros Support is sensitive to incidences of hacking or virus transmission on their site and will act diligently to avoid a repeat of past hacks. If their site gets shut down they stand to lose a significant revenue stream from their e-commerce business so they have a strong incentive to keep the site as safe as they possibly can.

@rumel Yes, the thread is working normally now (US Eastern Time 9:45 PM).

And, I don't see those new members from "casino" popping up in the "Online Members" area

either! Excellent!

I am not a tech-savvy person at all, so I am not aware of SPAMbots (I only know that "I am not a robot." Haha!)

I guessed SPAMbots continue to invade...

showed up again

 

As of May 15, 2021 US Eastern Time 5:22 PM another ads from "grand casino liechtenstein online spielen" showed up as an "Online Member" then diappeared ...
