After a couple of months - how am I doing?

So I've had my Helix for a couple of months now and I can't say that I've had a lot of success. When I give it a go, I seem to always get some precum coming out at some point, but haven't found that I've had any involuntaries and definitely no Super-O. I think that I might be expecting too much from each session. I tend to lie either on my back or on my right side and try not to do anything, but then I will for some unknown reason decide to try some contractions to see if I can speed things up. I also recently bought a Progasm Ice to see if that was any better for me. I haven't had much success with that either, although I like that it's slightly weighter. I've heard that putting a coating of vaseline on also helps - anyone found this to be true?

Basically I could really do with some tips (and motivation!).

@Firedrake,

Relax, from sounds of it you're re-wiring, albeit slowly. Recommend heading to the Aneros Wiki for tips. To see where you are the Milestones section is good place to go.

Don't force your sessions. Some light contractions to get things firing are okay, but not to make things happen. You should focus on the new sensations Aneros triggers. Relax and just let the new pleasure permeate your body. Check expectations at the door and just ride, you'll be surprised how much better it goes!

For Progasm, you need lots of lube and strong muscles. Practice those kegels and make sure good prep!

The Prostate awakening process does take time! IMHO, the time is needed because our ability to recognize the new sensation of an aware/awake Prostate is unique! The sensation is unlike any internal sensations you've likely ever felt! If you are feeling any slight tingling from the area of your prostate, it's this very slight sensation that grows into something much much bigger than I had ever imagined! Enjoy and appreciate every little good feeling you get, and accept that you're building the neural pathways that will expand your awareness of the pleasure that is possible! Be patient with yourself! I use Vaseline Cocoa Radiant gel, and always will! Sessions should be every other day if possible and plan on 60-90 minutes each session, or longer. Keep us updated on your progress, and enjoy the journey!

Thanks for the replies guys 🙂 Last night was rather interesting. In the past months I've noticed that when I'm hard, occasionally I'll feel a little bubbly sensation in the lower half of my torso. I'm careful not to say prostate because I'm not sure whether that's wishful thinking or not! I was also unsure as to whether I was imagining it or not. But last night, for maybe 10 seconds when I was hard and just lying in bed, I felt a definite bubbly feeling. Kind of like a jacuzzi I suppose, but in the lower half of my body for sure. Discuss. ( 😛 )

Also, I read elsewhere on this forum that it can be helpful NOT to think of contractions and breathing the entire time, but to let your mind wander into fantasies. A couple of weeks ago I have a strange episode in which I was lying in bed in the morning, just daydreaming as a guy my age (or any age I suppose) does, and in my daydream I climaxed and I uh...kinda came in real life as well. That may be wholly unrelated to aneros though.

EDIT: Does anyone here find lying on their side useful, as opposed to on their back? I don't really like being on my back.

I've found a few different positions that I get sensations from. Mostly in my recliner in the not quite all the way back setting, and on my side.

I haven't figured out how to make links yet, but the Helpful Tips post has a few positions to try for beginners. I just like experimenting with any position I can think of. Just the other day I tried in my hallway with my feet against one wall, leaning forward with my hands on the other wall. Only problem with that was it was a bit fatiguing but it was definately a position that works for me.

I also hopefully am picking up my Progasm Ice today. I ordered it from a local store I just discovered. (from the outside it looks like a clothing store). I kinda wish I waited 2 more weeks since I felt the Helix just wasn't working at the time. Oh well, can't complain too much, I'm still getting a Progasm ice 😀

*Edit For lube I started using Vaseline and switched to a water based one called Sex Grease. It lasts a bit longer. I ordered some Virgin Shea butter http://www.bulkapothecary.com/shea-butter.html due to the good reviews I read about it here.

@Quiett42, what a Bulk pallet of it, seriously Virgin Unrefined Shea Butter sounds great. I had a look at the site.
For your posts you seem to have come a long in leaps and bounds. I hope all will go well with using Aneros. I use P-Ice occasionally to stir things us. I love it's texture and the bubbles. It is huge so needs patience to insert but once in it feels good.

I would encourage you to try various positions, with a focus on the positions where you're able to fully relax. As far as Prostate stimulation goes...it's not unusual for someone to ejaculate from having their Prostate stimulated! I actually consider it a positive sign that the position you were in, and the mental stimulation you were experiencing, was strong enough to cause an ejaculation! Now, as you continue to focus on your prostate, and as the awakening process continues, your ability to generate pleasure through your prostate could grow. If you were not using pornography when this happened, don't get into the habit of looking at it as your mind already seems able to generate sufficient stimulus! Keep going and look for little signs of your prostate being stimulated. The Milestones checklist is a great way to see what kinds of signs you may experience which can indicate your progress!

Thanks again for the replies.

@Themegasm - I was literally just lying in bed that morning (no Aneros in or anything) and daydreaming of having sex with a guy (being bottom) and yeah...had to rush to the bathroom and have a shower!

On the subject of lubrication, how can one pre-lube? I've seen syringe-like applicators online, but can't one just sort of poke some up there? Crudely put I know! I have a pump-action dispenser - can I put that near my anus? Slightly naive questions I grant you!

For prelubeing I use a syringe. If you can't find any one almost always comes in a package of infant/children's Tylenol. It was a bit uncomfortable just using that so I attatch the insertable part of my enema kit to it and that does the trick.

Make sure you also lube the outside of the anus as well. The internal lube won't help you at all when you first instert the aneros of choice.

@Firedrake You've been fortunate to hear words of wisdom from experienced and wise users. As far as Kegels are concerned do them at times other than when the device is in to strengthen the muscles. Also, try a few "reverse Kegels", where you gently urge your anal muscles open. And also try to get the bulbocavernosis to respond (the muscle group you relax when you pee). Do it by actively but not forcefully stopping and starting your urine stream. I also did some modified Kegels with the device in: holding in the device nearly as far as possible, then partially releasing until you get the muscles to start to go into clonus--that's where it goes into a rhythmic contraction. The best example is what you can do with leg by raising your heel off the floor and slowly lowering it, until the calf muscle starts to rhythmically contract and your knee begins to bob on its own. You can do the same with your anal muscles. As far as position is concerned, one of the early positions i used when I started (and not much anymore) that was very effective, was to lie with my butt at the side of the bed, my legs over the side with my knees bent 90 degrees and feet squarely on the floor. The device (Helix Syn) started to move on its own, and the next step was pwaves.
I have become more easygoing and less "ritualistic" in my lube/prep. But if you can get your hands on a 10cc and a 5 cc syringe, you can use them as follows. Saw off the ends with a serrated knife. Then very carefully, while twirling the syringe, hold them near a flame on a gas range (i guess an electric burner might be useable) until you see the cut rim round up. Then cool without touching. It helps if the cut edge is slightly slanted, too. The 5 cc syringe you can use to drill out plugs of shea butter which you can then put in the freezer ala anlcomplsv. The 10cc syringe you can fill with whatever concoction you find is good (I like to include a bit of olive oil) and, after lubing your "hole", gently insert and inject the lube. I myself have become less "formal" and more used to my anus and will now just take a fingertip full of shea butter or A&D ointment and push it up as far as I can. Then coat the device with the A&D or shea butter and smear a bit of Olive oil, and there you go.
Enjoy this period of your re-wiring. I remember all sorts of new sensations. I think my first real pleasure was anal and not prostatic. It was the first time that I could control the onset of the pleasure.
Wishing you success.
