i've been trying sporadically for about 10 months to achieve the great sensations that i've been reading about in this forum, but i'm just not getting any results. i've been trying all of the techniques and positions suggested, but i really don't get the super pleasurable sensations like the rest of you guys. the only way i feel anything nice is when i lay flat on my back with my legs straightened out and bearing down pretty hard on the aneros. i can get a few spasms going this way that seem like they are starting something pleasurable but they only last 30 seconds or so and then i am left trying to get something going again. i maybe one of the few who are built a little differently and am not getting the pressure in the right places. if anyone else is in the same boat please let me know.
i've been at 4 months. i feel like i am making progress inch by inch.
i also have wondered if i am not configured for correct placement. i have both the standard and the ps2 (available from high island health).
one thing that helped me was doing kegel exercises twice daily. this increases the strength, sensitivity and eagerness of the whole area.
i am keeping the faith. i am just starting to explore the breathing techniques B Mayfield has suggested and they seem promising.

Is the PS2 the smaller one? Are you having better success with it? Maybe I should try that one.
In response to using the PS2 device; Is this the smaller version? Do you get better results with it? Can anyone else also recommend a different device?
First, let me encourage you not to give up. I had many frustrating months of my own with Aneros, only to have several breakthroughs (yes, when I least expected them) that changed everything for me. As I've stated in the past I believe that our own history (as men) with summoning up an ejaculation by traditional means is largely to blame. It's a hard thing to clear from your head. You've said that you've been working with the Aneros, "sporadically" for 10 months. I know that in my own case, it took me a good 9 months to gain true consistency with it and that was with about 1 session per week over that time.
From your description, it sounds like you might be trying to hard to "make this happen". I don't believe that this Super Orgasm is born out of this kind of effort. On the contrary, it seems to come from subtle means with gentle anal contractions, contractions of the upper and lower abdomen and rhythmic breathing ("vibratory") and mental focus. The interaction of these elements take a subtle sensation and build it higher and higher.
I'm curious, you've alluded to the possibility of an anatomical difference that precludes the Aneros from working properly. Is the perineal abutment tab engaging you perineum properly? If so, have you ever discovered your "sweet spot" (on your perineum)?

Just had to jump in here...
I gotta admit, I don't think I've ever found mine, in over 30 years of research! Since I've had mine, the aneros does a good job of putting pressure on it, but for me, it feels like pressure, but not any particular pleasure. The pleasure comes from the part that's inside me.
Granted, it's kind of a large area to cover from the anus to the back of one's testicles, and the skin, to the touch is sensitive in a good way (in my case anyway....). But in applying pressure to it, aside from strengthening my erection temporarily, I've never gotten anything from it. This is the same for penile- vs. aneros-centric pleasuring sessions.
In reading your posts and practicing the methods you've described, I've assumed that once I've set up a pleasure wave, and the secondary anal contractions start, I'll feel a tingling in the perineal area, and I have, in fact felt that. But again, it's tingling and not pleasure.
If I was just using fingers, what would it feel like?

Try to keep the tab in this position by gently using one or two finger to the side of it as a guide. However, DO NOT PUT ANY PRESSURE ON IT WITH YOUR FINGERS! The reason why is that any pressure that is exerted on the tab must come from your the anal twitching and/or your anal contractions ONLY!

Whoops! I think you've already explained it pretty darned well in the original "Key to the 'Backdoor' to Ecstacy" thread. Thanks again.

Blu,
You have it absolutely right! The fault is mine for using the term "sweet spot" to describe the optimum perineal positioning of the abutment tab. The fact is, there is no extraordinary pleasure that one feels that is distinct to this area itself. It is precisely the tingling that you spoke of that one is after. But the tingling is an essential "indicator" that you have a major component of the sensory feedback loop in operation. When coupled with sensations from the abdomen, anus and rectum the pleasure wave that forms the Super Orgasm is generated. Again these sensations are created by subtle contractions of these areas combined with focused ("vibratory") breathing.
My choice of the term "sweet spot" came from my a past experience with "tuning a room" for a surround sound audio purposes (the sweet spot being the optimum listening area where all of the speakers are focused creating an aural experience of envelopment). In retrospect I realize that this term is easily misconstrued as a "G-spot" or intensely pleasurable area. It is not that at all. Again, it's my belief of the essential nature of this tab being "tuned in" though that's led me to direct people to try to find and maintain proper placement of it. Sorry for the confusion.

B Mayfield,
Thanks for your reply.

I'm not sure if the abutment tab is hitting the right "sweet spot" because, truthfully, I don't know exactly where it is or what it would feel like when I found it. I think my problem might be on the inside where the aneros is supposed to be hitting my prostate. I don't think it is. When I lay on my side (like the directions suggest) and do contractions, I don't feel anything. It is as though the aneros is not even in and I'm just doing PC excercises.
Maybe the contractions I'm doing are the root of the problem. Are they supposed to be like PC contractions?
When you are using it, is the Aneros completely inserted, that is, all the way down to where the ribs end? Also do you have the standard model aka. the "MGX" or is it the smaller "PS2" that you're using. If you only have one massager, the way you can tell the difference is that the MGX has two raised bumps on the upper part of the body, the PS2 does not.

B, I make sure that it is in all the way. I have the MGX. Do you think the PS2 would make the difference?
Yes, but probably not for the better in your case. The PS2 is shorter and somewhat less agressive than the MGX (the PS2 doesn't have the knobs on it). I had thought that the problem might be that you had been using the PS2 all along.
When you say that you don't even notice the Aneros inside you, do you have sense of it's presence in your anus at all? Are there any pleasant anal sensations from it?
A couple more questions; have you enjoyed anal play in the past and if so how? Have you ever experienced prostate stimulation in the past, if so how?

I guess I do notice it, but the sensation that it is hitting my prostate is only achieved by lying on my back and contracting very hard. I say I don't notice the pleasurable sensation at all when in other positions like on my side with knees drawn up as refered to in the original instructions.
No passed anal anything. My father has P-Cancer which lead me to research preventative measures and care. Somehow, I ended up here and figured, while this was not what I was originally looking for, the Aneros was definately something I should try.
On the topic of the fit of the aneros, and because I have sometimes wondered if my anatomy doesn't conform, here is a question:
Would we be able to judge how well the Aneros fits somebody by their response to the exercises? In particular, the exercises are supposed to be a gentle prostate massage (see the High Island Health site). I wonder if men who respond quickly and/or powerfully to the Aneros get noticeable pleasure and pre-ejaculate from the exercises. I know that for me it is pretty hard for that to happen.
In other words, is there a correlation between ability to get pleasure and pre-ejaculate from the exercises and the ability to be orgasmic with the Aneros?
Are there men out there who are Aneros-orgasmic but who do not get pleasure and pre-ejaculate during the exercises?

HEY iM A NEWBE AS WELL i CANT SEEM TO GET IT TO WORK IV TRYED EVERTHING AND STILL NOTHING SO I NEED ALL THE HELP AS NEEDED ARE THERE ANY VIDEOS FOR BEGINNERS THAT SHOW IT ON WHAT TO DO PLEASE HELP ME ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT THANKS
@jpmurr,From what you have told us so far, I can't tell how long you have been on this journey or what preparation you have done for your sessions.
I believe your starting point from here is that you should thoroughly read the Aneros WIKI and do some serious study. Try to remember that almost anything worth accomplishing in life requires some effort. Acquiring positive outcomes from Aneros use requires most people to spend several weeks (even months) of practice. Consider it to be a journey (with no particular destination), to be enjoyed for what it is, just a journey.
I came to this business late in life (in my early seventies), and it has taken me four years to get where I am now. Along the way I have had several thoroughly enjoyable (and some momentous) experiences. If I can do it, I'm sure you can too.
Please start by having a thorough read of the WIKI.
Good Luck and Enjoy!
