Hi all!

I am VERY excited to have purchased the Aneros helix. I made my purchase on the 9th and purchased the fastest shipment to Canada, I am still waiting impatiently :'-( lol

My question: I see a lot of people here use a rectal syringe and lube shooters and such. Is this required? Can I not just lube up the aneros and insert?

Thanks! 🙂

I don't think you are required to, and some individuals probably like not doing so, but generally you get more movement if you pre-lube inside and on the Aneros. It seems to work better for me personally, but I've had many sessions before trying it that were good too.

i chose 'it depends'. i usually do not pre lube. it can be beneficial especially with the progasm but i dont think it would necessarily be an ice breaker as such. for me, the biggest downside is that i cant just dose off after my session because ill inevitably pass wind and end up with a puddle of nasty lube. also, you go through so much more lube this way. having said that, i just bought a giant tube of wet 'light' that im eager to try out.

The only worry i have is having the lube dry out and then not being able to take it out - is that possible? 😳

I have WET light - is that okay? (not sure what the light means... This is the one that I already own pre-aneros. for general sex and such masturbation). Should I buy something different?

Thanks!

I put "it depends" because for years I used KY, a water-based gel lube, and in that case, I found it necessary to insert some KY in my rectum as well as lube up the aneros before insertion.

I recently switched to Boy Butter, which is a silicone lube. All it takes is a few drops rubbed on the aneros and I'm good for hours.

I voted yes because it is enough for me to simply lube up the Aneros and go. I do occasionally use the syringe but it is not very often.

I voted yes. Also related to drying out, I use lubes that the fisting folks use and there is no drying out. I use Elbow Grease & Slam Dunk primarily.

Prelube seems to only work with the Progasm for me. By this I mean, the Progasm is the only model that seems to require this in order to move more freely.

😀 I don't think you have to, but if you want Mega Super O's I suggest you do (and that's from experience). Basically the less friction, the more pleasure.

My view is that the colon is basically a dryer so lube is needed to get the movement going that we need to experience an effective massage. I've had the most success inserting say 5 to 7cc of KY using a syringe and inserting my Helix in a condom that I lube both inside and out with Astroglide. The slipperier the better for me. Perhaps I'm over doing it but I've had so much pleasure with this approach that I'm hesitant to cut back.

I used to think you had to douche first, and inject lubricant in the rectum, but I've been experimenting and you dont' have to do either. It may be a bit better that way, but you can get plenty bang for the buck just by using a good lube on the Aneros. Make sure you have evacuated properly enough time in advance, and if recently then you might want to douche with warm water. If you use a nice fairly thick lubricant on the Aneros that is enough. I only use water based lubs. These are best and likely healthiest internally for you as well.

I voted no. But I think that there are circumstances where saying it depends would be correct also.

For example, the people that use silicone based lubricants, obviously don't need to pre-lube. I personally don't like the idea of that stuff being absorbed into my body, so I use water soluble glycerin based lubes.

Using glycerin based lubes I've successfully just lubed the Aneros and my anus and it was ok. But I think there are circumstances recently where I've observed this to become a problem. Mainly if you are having a long session. And also if you swap toys out during the session. Neither of which I had previously done as I did not start to have any results until about 2 or 3 weeks back.

I learned this the hard way the other night. I did pre-lube, but I had some difficulty trying to get the plunger into the syringe, and it slipped and push some of the lube out onto the floor. I figured I'd just use what was left in the syringe and leave it at that. I probably only got about 1ml of lube in me compared to my normal 2.5 to 3ml amount.

Anyways, I was ok initially, but partway through the session I removed the MGX, and inserted the Helix after lubing it. And I found I couldn't quite get it to feel comfortable no matter how I relaxed. So I ended the session and pushed out the Helix only to be horrified that it was completely dry! So needless to say, my anus was quite sore yesterday, but starting to feel better today.

I think that for now on I will lean on the side of caution and use a little more pre-lube than I have been using as my sessions tend to be a lot longer than they have been in the past. And I suspect I might even pre-lube again if I change a toy out during session.

That's my 2 cents 😉

Hey people,

I figured would update since my last post. Since it has been a while ago and things have changed.

As it stands now, since switching over to refined 100% shea butter, and eventually unrefined 100% shea butter, it changes a little how things are done. But I still feel that just lubing the toy is probably not a wise idea. And I'm not about to test it. There is some pre-lubing involved with shea butter, and other solidified oils. But nothing as complex, time consuming, or requiring injection devices like using liquid based lubes.

I use three smalls clumps of lube that you get by running a clean finger into the jar. About 1cm size or smaller. The first one gets placed on my Aneros to spread on it after lubing my anus and rectum. The second one gets pushed midway into my anus. And the third gets pushed into my rectum. I can go as long as I want with no additional lubing needed. With the exception of swapping different Aneros models. Then the new one going in gets a coating of lube.

Every session I've had this way, when it is ended, upon pulling my Aneros out, there is always plenty of lube. So next session I'm going to try cutting down the amount I use. One clump to pre-lube anus and rectum, and a second clump to lube the Aneros. I suspect it will be enough, and also lower my cost of the lube, since it will last longer.

Love is Peace

I have found Probe Thick and rich to be my lube of choice. I place about 3 ML in my rectum and then lube my Aneros of choice. Probe does not cause the "fart" problem afterwards but when I used other lubes it did. I believe Probe has all natural ingredients. When I use Progasm (always last) I will lube up again. Go to Walgreens Pharmacy and get your FREE medicine dropper. Just ask. 🙄

Cleaning myself in the tub with my finger is enough stimulation to get the juices flowing. This is great preparation for the Aneros and find I rarely need to use lube. I generally produce enough of my own anal lubrication for intercourse as well.

I'm learning a lot here. I have just been using KY. Is that not good enough? Then again, I have not experienced anything at all so far. I have inserted the helix a few times and not much of anything. I believe it will work but I think that I must be approaching this wrong. Perhaps KY is not the right thing to use.

For me, it depends on the Aneros model. I always use the water-based KY jel to lube my anus AND Aneros toy before a session. When I bring out the Big Boy, my Progasm Ice, however, I also inject about 4 ml of water-based Astroglide into my rectum. Besides giving that extra bit of lube for the Progasm's tighter fit, I find the sensation from the insertion of the lube applicator into my rectum a nice extra bonus in the process! 😉

So far, I've never injected lube into my anus before I started. I've been using Astroglide and just lube up the Aneros thoroughly and have been good to go for as long as I want (up to 3-4 hours but usually 1 - 1 1/2 hours max). Have also used ID Glide a few times and today used KY Gel which worked really well for me.

Haven't had the lube dry out on me during a session - maybe I'm just lucky. 😀

I seriously doubt one need the syring, that's probably more for people who like the idea of using one, maybe.

I would definitly lube the anus and not just the toy but I doubt you need a syringe to do it.

Crap, maybe I should have had one then.

Does normal sex stores really carry those things or is that an Aneros special?

Do people use them for anal sex to?

I've noticed a difference when I don't have enough lube and when I do.

I lube both my anus and my aneros. I don't go overboard lubing the anus, just lightly It goes in smoothly, comfortably, and ready to go. I use the astroglide.

Just look at any oil based anal lube, I guess. I don't know which one is the best one. Lovehoney has some, http://www.bedtimeheaven.co.uk/ http://www.bedroompleasures.co.uk/ http://www.passion8.co.uk/ are some other uk toy shops.

For instance:
http://www.bedtimeheaven.co.uk/subcat-cat~6-subcat~58-paging~-order_by~-offset~0.htm
http://www.bedtimeheaven.co.uk/product_detail-prodID~10507.htm
http://www.bedtimeheaven.co.uk/product_detail-prodID~10481.htm
http://www.bedtimeheaven.co.uk/product_detail-prodID~9295.htm
http://www.bedtimeheaven.co.uk/product_detail-prodID~6270.htm

And so on, Lovehoney probably have most items + the reviews. To me bedtimeheaven have seemed to in general have better prices though.

I have no idea which ones are best, try them out and tell us =P

Found boy butter extreme at maxhim:
http://www.maxhim.co.uk/Boy-Butter-Extreme-Lubricant/productinfo/M80504/

They only got male/gay stuff I think so you might find other useful things there to.

yes--lubing up the aneros with a bit of lube on the rim of your anus will get the job done nicely.

My first and only Aneros is the Progasm.I had initially only lubed it.But as others have said.Maybe due to its size.I feel it FLOATS and massages more gently. With a couple cc's of pre lube. Will continue experimenting and update maybe later
