In a recent thread the question came up as to whether Aneros users enjoyed Porn. For purposes of this poll I'm considering "porn" to be synonymous with erotica and I'm making no distinction between hard core, soft core or amateur. This includes all types of media, video, printed, on line etc. The central question here is, do you enjoy looking at images of naked people and/or depictions of naked people engaged in sexual encounters, that is, any kind erotic visual stimuli involving nudity?

Unfortunately, I was first exposed to sex as a contact sport rather than as a spectator sport. That said, a well written story, one that leaves some blanks for one to fill in with imagination and personal fantasy, is always welcome in or on my nightstand (next to the Aneros of course).

Short answer -- NO. --- Poll response was accurate.

Clarification: I'm more turned on by a quick glance at nice female fanny in a pair of tight jeans. "Filling in the blanks" is a very nice feeling. I'd love to touch! However, I have found humor in some of the older porn films shown at fraternity smokers.

Rod 'O Plastic,

You like your nude people fully clothed eh? How does scantily clad grab you? 😉

Rook,

For purposes of this poll I'm trying to find out how many Aneros users are visually stimulated and aroused by pornographic images. I'd agree with you though that the written word can be quite arousing too!

Brian,

Where is the choice that says I like porn regardless of Aneros use or not?

I wach porn in a bed.
I like porn in my head.

I will see porn in a chair.
If someone sees, I'll not care.

Porn is great on its own.
I do not need a telephone.

I like porn when it is free.
I think porn is for everybody!

It really depends on the porn.I mean, if it's obviously fake, and the people look like their not enjoying it then I won't either. But if they look like there enjoying it, and having a good time then sure it's gonna turn me on. That's why I like amateur stuff, the people know each other, and want to fuck each other. There just generous enough to put it on camera.

Rika,

You must be channeling Dr. Seuss!

What's next?

I like porn in the rain
And in the dark. And on a train.
And in a car. And in a tree.
Porn is so good, so good you see!

Porn is a great tool for getting off. And it's disease free! I once speculated that there are different 'levels' associated the kind of porn you watch. These 'levels' increase as you get older. When I was younger something as simple as seeing some tits in a magazine was enough to shoot a load. Then it was a vagina. From there it was penetration. Then onto facial cumshots. Those were the good old days. Now I need to see a asian shemale fucking a donkey while being pissed on...woe is me. I fear what comes next!

[COLOR="#ffa500"]Pnoman ,

I fully understand how you feel. I think I'm at the point now where I need to see the exact moment a female seahorse impregnates a male seahorse. That's some gender bending bestiality right there! This is of course after two female seahorses poo into a cup. :/

[COLOR="#ff00ff"]Sir Mayfield,

I see my work here is done. I have perverted Dr. Suess as intended. 😛 Though to be fair, I think he was already a little perverted. Some of his less famous works are quite daring! Especially his WWII propaganda pieces.

I voted no because I lose interest after a few minutes.
It is like watching a documentary on sausage manufacture, interesting but!
The older I have got the more interesting I find the female form with clothes on.
It leaves something for the imagination to work on.
Thats my distorted viewpoint anyway

Hello Brian, 🙂

I voted yes with Aneros. But I think the categories are a little limited. As I also find porn very helpful in my no-Aneros sessions. At this point, what I do is a no-Aneros session in front of the computer looking at porn as an arousal builder. Then I move on to an Aneros session, where I can work the images and stories in my head, or create my own fantasies and themes. 😀 In the past I've also read erotica in bed during an Aneros session and found that to be very helpful in building arousal and distracting the mind from what the Aneros is doing.

I've been an avid viewer of porn since I was a teenager. And I've found over the years that my tastes have refined. Much like Normandy, the professional stuff doesn't hold much attraction. You can tell the people in it are any of the following: Not interested, not aroused, not enthusiastic, not into each other, obviously faking enjoyment or orgasms, and terrible acting. So I go for the amateur stuff where people love to show off on camera, and for the most part are totally into what they are doing with the people they are with. That is real, and a turn on!

Another refinement I've noticed since I've progressed along my Aneros journey has been the opposite of what pnoman has joked about. I've found now that I need less extreme porn to get aroused. For example, just looking at a soft-core picture of a woman's breasts, visualizing a part of an erotica story, or even the aroused look on a woman's face can be enough to send my arousal and thus pleasurable sensations and responses sky rocketing. Versus having to look at more and more extreme versions of hard core porn to stay aroused. This has been a blessing in disguise, as it makes the whole job easier. 😀

I've noticed a similar phenomenon. Like I implied in another thread, I feel that during an Aneros session porn should be like pleasant white noise that reinforces your arousal, but does not control it.

Love_is,

I intentionally kept the choices limited. I was after three things in this poll. First, to determine if our members were aroused by porn and secondly if they found it helpful in their Aneros sessions. (The latter is a certainly a frequently asked question around here). Lastly, I hoped to spark some discussion about the role of porn/erotica in Aneros sessions. With respect to a selection for using porn in non-Aneros sessions as well, I figured that it would be encompassed by the first choice as it makes clear that one enjoys porn in general.

As you can see from the responses there are many other parameters that one can look at it. What type of erotica/porn that people use for example, that's why I was careful to mention soft core and hard core and qualified it further by saying that it should include anything that displayed naked people or naked people depicting sexual encounters. There is a lot of material out there that I would consider erotic, but not necessarily pornographic. But again, I didn't want to get into that, I wanted to keep this simple. The essence of what I'm asking about here is erotic visual stimuli involving nudity.

Perhaps down the line another poll can get more specific about the type of stimuli and how often it is used so we might get a feel for user preferences.

I voted yes to porn. I think certain types enhances my arousal. Sapphic Erotica has some of the most beautiful girls you'll ever see. It's an all girl site and they have real orgasms. I think watching a girl have an orgasm while using the aneros is a huge arousal boost! Sometimes its as if the girls moans channel into my orgasmic waves and I get increasingly stronger p-waves as they reach climax.

I'm not really sure. Different times different answers, horses for courses...
After my last 'non-stop-orgasming'weekend I figure one of the differences with and without pot is: With pot is so much better!!!:)

But seriously a few points:

a) Porn can stir the passion and get you in the right mood, but moderation is key, for regular use & usage porn can get a bit boring and then the turn on is actually just closing your eyes and focussing inward. What I've found is that the suggestion of being incredibly horny is enough to arouse you more than any porn can do. Especially with the Progasm it's easy since just the size alone would be enough to convince you that you have to be incredibly horny as only something of that size could even attempt to satisfy. A longing only an analslut could crave

Maybe it's just narcism on my part but to be completely engrossed in your own horniness is a turn on in itself. Maybe because that's the root and the rest is just appearance......Aneros really demands a real paradigm shift and that to me is tapping into your 'inner-slut', the rewired requires IMO nothing visual, nothing auditory but something longer lasting than the visual '5 minute route', that leads me to

b) Bach(?); first thing that pops up when trying to describe what's needed. His was a musical flow, a continuous flow of music. What Bach had with music Tibetan munks have with awareness.
When I've had pot I'm able to visualize this much better. I feel like I'm playing a pinball machine with the aneros stimulating different erogeounous zones and this feeling of being overcome by horniness. The trick is holding on, passively letting your self be led by this and not letting your awareness be clouded by analysis or whatever of the feelings that youre feeling....your awareness has to be a continous flow of horniness

To conclude IMO porn if not used to often can be good for getting warmed up, but can't suffice satisfying the innerslut

I really wanted to post a response to this thread because I have recently found that I can enjoy regular pornographic materials by accepting that the images are real and that they do have an effect on me. Just yesterday and this morning I was looking at some 70’s pictures (The ones with the hairy women). When I look at them nothing happens until I look at them again and make my body feel as if the pictures are the real thing and the woman are "actually posing" and not just pictures. I can't tell you how that made me feel. I put my massager in and what do you know pre-ejaculate starts to come out. What is that telling me... my prostate became active when I became "horny"; But only when I became genuinely "horny"
Also I tend to be the type of person who doesn’t respond to porn just by looking at it. I have to feel it in my brain.

I credit porn with helping to "awaken" my prostate, when first using the Aneros.
It really helped to jump-start the buzzing. And, by the way, written porn/erotica
works just as well as pictures for me.

As you may have seen, I have had some pretty powerful experiences lately with porn. FWIW, the porn I like best is relatively soft. I often like pictures, not videos. The pictures I like most are of partially clothed women. These still let my imagination do most of the work. I especially like panty covered asses. I suppose I have a bit of a panty fetish. Or, perhaps I just like to see what's on the outside and imagine what's underneath. If I watch videos, I like them to be soft as well. Beautiful women in tastefully done videos are really nice. I get bored pretty quickly of hard core fucking esp. if it non-amateur. If it's amateur (real amateur as opposed to something that's staged to look like it's amateur) is often fun as well.

Thanks for the explanation Brian! 🙂 Makes sense.

I want to re-visit this topic, as I have recently made a change in my behavior. Just recently I made the observation that I consistently use porn as a warm up to Aneros sessions. And it concerns me that I'm basically relying on it, an outside source, for my own arousal prior to an Aneros. And the concern is that over time... What if my mind makes an association between the two? It may become difficult, if not impossible to get myself aroused prior to an Aneros session without porn. So I'm doing a bit of an experiment that I have tried before of removing porn from my pre-Aneros session arousal diet. Only this time I'm going to try and put more effort into keeping it away from any Aneros sessions. So far I haven't had too much difficulty with generating my own arousal. But we'll see what happens as I get further into this.

Mind you, this does not change the basic question of this thread and poll. As I do still get aroused by porn. I just don't want to have to rely on it to make myself aroused.

So much for my experiment! LOL
I lasted about a week. Serves me right for innocently researching double dildos and harnesses at sex toy shops online, and different forums. Then one thing led to another, and I'm looking at porn to get myself all fired up for an Aneros session. Ah well... LOL

Here's a few observations during my short porn abstinence. I very rarely found myself all that aroused in the sense that sex was not on the brain all that much. Being single doesn't help though. Aneros sessions took much longer to experience pleasure, as I had to build my own arousal up from next to nothing, and that takes time. Perhaps once I cross over into achieving super-O's I can try this experiment again. I've read a number of posts from advanced Aneros users here that don't feel the need to look at porn to arouse themselves for an Aneros session full of super-O's. I'd like not to have to depend on it for arousal. But I guess something has to stir my imagination once in a while.

For the record I voted yes on this one. But I have to say that about 90% of the porn I watch during sessions is soft-core, strip-tease style like Playboy videos, the reason being that, like some of the other posters here, most of the time all I really want is the template of a pretty face or figure from which to launch my erotic imagination.

For me, the primary difference between soft-core and hard-core is not so much the visual impact, but rather the aural impact that accompanies the visual. If I'm watching soft-core, it usually employs some generic soundtrack or perhaps a brief spoken intro by the model and nothing more, leaving plenty of room for my mind to fill in the blanks as I desire. But hard-core automatically dictates the nature of the stimulus according to the manner in which the actors/performers are expressing their pleasure (or lack there of). A fake moan or distasteful comment can easily distract me from an otherwise visually appealing scene. But hearing women experiencing intense, genuine orgasms is immensely arousing for me. So in my experience, soft-core is a safe bet, but doesn't always deliver the erotic charge I'm looking for, whereas hard-core can either be extremely arousing or quite the opposite if it's bad enough (and for me, it often is).

I find the best balance between the two is high end, female directed and distributed lesbian porn from companies like Triangle Films. The actresses are usually gorgeous, the orgasms and chemistry are real, and best of all, I have the peace of mind of knowing that no one is being mistreated, coerced, exploited, or even asked to "play it up" for the camera. It's just beautiful women enjoying each other naturally and spontaneously while being filmed. All that's left to do is fantasize myself into a Pan-sandwhich and I'm good to go! 😉

I realize I'm just a newbie, but for me, porn and Aneros use just don't mix. Porn is for a quick traditional O or for edging; the Aneros is for something else altogether. I find if I use porn during Aneros use, the porn kind of takes over, forces a mind-shift from passive receptivity to a more active, "move over and let me drive" kind of attitude, which leads to a place of trying to *make * it happen, instead of just *letting* it happen. In fact, I'm so indoctrinated to the traditional "active" role that even without porn usage, I find myself stuck in "taut-thighed, clench-butted, pelvic-grinding" mode... not exactly conducive to "proper" Aneros usage. Pleasant in the extreme, to be sure, but not what the Aneros is all about. And as far as general porn use... a resounding YES, but as with others, I'm no longer impressed with the mega-(plastic) racked beauty belting out obviously faked passion, and I've never seen the attraction of the interminable, extreme close-up "plumbing-shots" that waste a lot of footage. I'd much rather watch a nice set bounce around than watch that. I find I'm FAR more turned on by amateur stuff, especially where the lady is *very* vocal in expressing her arousal, and obviously not faked in the least. Add in a squeaky bed, and hubby watching, and I pretty much can't breathe for the tension in my guts !! I'm also a HUGE fan of erotic fiction, when well written (or at least spelled correctly and with reasonably good grammar.) I refer you to www.lushstories.com; look for the one called "A Reluctant Wife's Opening Night" for an example of what I mean. *Lots* of room to "fill in the blanks" there !!

for solo sex, jiust as for sex wtih a partner, porn can be a wonderful stimulus but once i am intimately involved with either my partner or myself i concentrate on the scene i or we are in

... when i masturbate i concentrate on my body including my genitals visually and with all my senses ... noting their and my response to every action and move

i'm new to the aneros (progasm) but like to be highly aroused hot hard and horny before i begin the process ...

i concentrate on the process of anal relaxation and penetration and savor the pleasure i have found in the activity

... porn, at this point, would be a distraction

Ditto, Love_is 02/24/2010 post and to rip.
Tried it last week with Aneros stuck in but all I did was fondle the old magic wand with no difference at all.
It's very distracting.
Or maybe my youth as passed me by.
P.S. I voted the middle one

Porn distracts me. I get best results when I focus on my sensations and take my time. Maybe if I could watch porn comfortably, on a large screen, with high volume.
