A company Very close to my house sells Pure Unrefined Shea Butter In jars, I contacted them today and the told me they have add nothing only whipped it,

My question is to the Shea Experts on here do you recon this would be any good as a lub or am i better off trying to find Shea butter in its natural state ?

Regards,

If it's not perfumed for cosmetic use and the color is a pale-cream, go for it.

Added note -- I'm a bit paranoid about what I shoot up my ass-- I "pasteurize" shea by heating it to 175 deg. F. for 5 minutes. It'll be a bit grainy after that but works fine at body temp.

Given that PaulH2206 is asking about whipped shea butter, I wonder if this process would also return it to a more natural and solid state.

Hello PaulH2206, 🙂

I've never heard of whipped shea butter. If whipping it is much like in cooking where you are introducing air into the shea butter with a whisk to make it lighter and fluffier, then you may not be getting your money worth from this. As like Geezer UK mentioned, heating it to the melting point will likely return it to its natural more solid state. Which also means you end up with less shea butter in the jar as the air escapes and it settles. I think it would depend on it's cost for the amount compared to other brands, and whether or not it is pale yellow to white in color, which is the desirable type of shea butter for anal lube. Perhaps you could purchase a small tester amount to see how it works so it wouldn't be a be a big loss money?

Probably yes. Gentle whipping, without frothing, as the Shea cools should reconstitute the butter. (just like reconstituting clarified butter) I use a lube shooter with shea and the "graininess" isn't a factor. Shea melts well below body temp. Once above about 80 degrees or inside the bod it's just slippery vegetable fat. I 'stole' Alv's idea and blend some Coconut Oil with the Shea Butter. That produces a nice slippery lube with great lasting properties (four to five hours, no sweat!)

There is also the Lube Shooter, and the Lube Launcher - both very similar to each other.
