Which muscle group exactly

Heloo everyone,

OK, almost four weeks already with the MGX (and no "sweet spot" in the perineum area), nothing. Not giving up of course but it's time to re-check parameters, just to be sure. "contract the sphincter muscle" reads the instruction book but it's only now that I'm getting confused: After a careful investigation I can identify at least three groups of muscles in the area.

a) A large and not very clearly defined group which and can make the sphincter kinda contract but also move the sphincter at least 1cm upwards (or should I say inwards?). This is the group I have used so far as it seemed logical to want induce some movement in the device. The activity of this group can be felt just by touching the area of anus and contracting, the upwards movement becomes immediately obvious.

b) A more specialized group of muscles which can only be felt with a finger gently inserted and which also feels like a decent sphincter contraction. Takes way more effort to contract compared to the above but it's fully controllable.

c) A very strong but well hidden ring muscle which is right at the entry and took me by complete surprise; I was only by chance that I've discovered it. This group of sphincter muscles (very strong and well formed ring) only activates when I cough; Hard as I try I have absolutely no control over this group of muscles!!

Just by looking at https://www.kenhub.com/en/atlas/the-rectum-and-anal-canal I think I'm talking about either the "Levator ani" or the "Obturator internus" for a) and "External anal sphincter" for b) and c).

Funny enough, in the "External anal sphincter" picture https://www.kenhub.com/en/atlas/musculus-sphincter-ani-externus-4 one can see the two groups that I'm talking about in b) and c). I can control the inner one but, like I already said, the outer one only acts when I cough.

So pretty please, will you the more experienced ones... shed some light over the area (pun intended)? Do you recognize your practice in any of the above descriptions?

It varies with the individual but for most guys it takes a long while to feel anything down in the ass region. The upward or inward contraction is a kegel ...so learn how to draw the aneros up. The reverse of the kegel is like you are pushing out to crap. These two maneuvers are the extent of hands free movement of the toy. Now you can add circular ass movements and learn how to push down on the aneros using your lower abs. Keep trying different combinations and sooner or later things will start to come together and so will you.

That sounds like a rectal contraction (which can also involve pulling up). I usually think of the reverse kegel as a sort of pinching contraction downwards using the PC muscles. Granted, I never really know what to call the contractions and everyone seems to have different naming schemes.

@kogelm
I tend to moderately contract the pc muscle (doing a kegel), then pull upwards with a rectal contraction while holding the kegel, make subtle adjustments based on prostate contact, and add a reverse kegel. I hold this until muscle fatigue sets in. Basically the "Quick and Dirty" method. You should check that post out if you haven't already.

I know you're going to find this hard to believe but it does not matter which muscle it is specifically. There is no way magic formula or particular muscle. It is a journey that frustrates because it just happens overtime and becomes but more with Focus awareness and a sense of adventure with fantasy. Google breath and energy orgasm handout. It will help you you your path. Most of these Tantra classes are a joke trying to teach you to organ while holding back ejaculating which is not what you are even striving for. What you will see is gradual increase and improvements in how much sensation you feel. Just relax and follow the handout as a good guideline and u may get there sooner.

i don't agree with the instructions to contract. i think you need to deeply relax, zone out, think sexy thoughts, and just try to feel the first sense of sexual excitement down there.

from there, it will grow by itself.

I sort of agree with the other posters, but I found that contractions were very useful as a newbie. It helped me sort out the sensations in the area and generate a feeling of warmth. From then on, less forced techniques were very useful. The contractions I described are just my warmup. You'll find out what works for you. Have fun and try not to get too frustrated.

I wonder why nobody mentioned the youtube videos in the wiki that explain all the pelvic muscles in detail... How do I remember them? Ah.. right.. I found them in the first place. 🙂

@kogelm: do kegels regularly! Like 3x a day, 20-30 reps. Strengh is not important, but you may throw a harder clench from time to time. After a few weeks you will gain more and more control over the various muscles and be able to identify an control them indivitually. You may also read this post from me, where I explain the stuff that I discovered in detail (be warned, it's a long read).

Cheers, Unfug

I have experienced a recent period of abstinence due to a prostate biopsy. After receiving the good news of no cancer, it still took me months to desire the Aneros experience. When I attempted sessions again I was disturbed to find that I'd lost my ability to "get there." The overwhelming sensations of pleasure the device had once given me was gone. I'd lost my rewiring and thought that it was gone forever. It took several sessions of retracing my original steps to regain the connection to the sensations. I had to concentrate on relaxation, do the contractions, and really focus my mind on what ever pleasure I felt. I was amazed at how quickly the orgasms came back once I made the connections again. It's good to be back.

The entire pelvic area is involved, but I get by far the most orgasmic feeling from a central location around the prostate itself. Contractions are only a tool to awaken the mind to the sensations within. The Aneros intensifies the sensations but ultimately it's the mind that is required to achieve the internal delights. Gentle stimulation of the nipples, belly and inner thighs add greatly to the building of pleasure. Mental focus on the sensations, without concern or desire for orgasm, helps to generate periods of ever expanding pleasure. When my orgasms occur they are the physical manifestation of mental delight.

Thanks everyone for their contributions.

@Unfung: I've been doing Kegels a lot during past years. I think this may be one reason things are SO confusing and unusual (I'm also completely missing the sweet spot): there are way too many muscle groups that I can use. Funny enough the sphincter exactly is not necessarily one of them but I'm definitely working on it. The videos you posted are enlightening than you so much.

Hey @kogelm,

I'm glad the videos helped. They certainly helped me to identify the muscles which I was discovering back then.

But keep in mind what @darwin said: you can't force your way to orgasms with wild kegels. It's rather about gentle contractions and the subtle sensations which they spark. Control about the muscles is
just the first step. The next one is to recognize new sensations when you play around with light contractions. A good exercise is to clench all the muscle one after another in a big rolling motion. For me, this led to my very first dry-o.

Please keep us posted!
Cheers, Unfug
