What does a Swelling Prostate feel like?

I have seen guys here say that with arousal with or without the aneros in place, they know they are in rewired arousal when their prostates start to swell.

What does a swelling or swollen prostate feel like if you can put it into words? Are there accompanying feelings that make one aware that the prostate is swelling/swollen? I have had wonderful P waves like pleasant electrical current arching in my prostate but what about this swelling business? Additionally, what brings the swelling of the prostate on?

Thanks for the help.

Hello, Turnrow.

You're going to get a range of responses to your question because the effect itself and perception of it both vary. I never get P-waves and/or involuntary contractions unless my prostate has swelled up, kind of like an internal erection. It feels like pressure and warmth. If my Aneros is inside me, the swelling displaces the device and I can feel that movement. This can be a bit of a problem when first getting aroused because the initial prostate contact that starts the swelling can be lost when the prostate pushes the Aneros out of the way. Then, it's back to Square One. This hasn't happened for awhile. I think my body has learned how to keep the Aneros in contact while the prostate swells up. It's not a conscious action.

Best Regards,

Dave

Thanks Dave. You are an articulate and detailed guy. So a key to greater prostate arousal from what you have said is keeping the aneros against the prostate by using the anal muscles, I would think, after swelling? Right? Is that a discipline one has to learn to advance to the super O?

Turnrow,

I've only been at this game for 6 months, so you may want to get feedback from some of the more senior members here.

During my first month, I did use contractions to hold the Aneros "up" and keep it there after prostate swelling. That facilitated P-waves and mini-Os. I never succeeded in getting a Super-O by voluntary contractions of any kind. Super-Os can't be forced as far as I can tell. Somehow, your body will learn to do what it needs to do for a Super-O to "come to you." You can't chase it. My first Super was a total surprise.

I wish there was some magic formula for how to do this thing. The best help for me came from the Wiki and the sticky threads, above.

Best Regards,

Dave

Turnrow...I am one of those who have learned what the prostate swelling feels like...and I do think it's a learned behavior. To me, it can best be described as a very pleasant itch or tickle that you feel in the general area between your penis and your anus (that small ridge that runs from the bottom of your penis down your scrotum and all the way to your anus) but inside your body...directly behind where your pubic hair is. Many guys find they can amplify this feeling by rubbing/tickling their nipples. With an Aneros inserted (I use a Helix a lot now) as you continue the nipple stimulation, if you do this long enough the prostate will actually begin to throb and ache...but in a really good way...it's almost like it becomes so sensitive that it begins to pulsate with pleasure. Like the contractions you feel when you cum but with maybe more rhythmic and not as forceful and with no cum. This can go on as long as you want. It's like the prostate becomes very tender (which I'm sure it does) but this becomes an incredibly pleasurable tenderness. Hope this makes sense. Anyone else identify with this?

Warm, filling and hollering to be the center of attention. Definitely knows where "centerstage" is.

I think of it as a buildup of pressure within the prostatic capsule and not swelling, as in an actual increase in the size of the gland, so I don't gain any sense upon inserting my Aneros that my gland is "pushing it away". This buildup of pressure within the gland for me is a pleasant, arousing feeling I get up inside between my scrotum and anus sometimes radiating to my testicles when it's been a few days since sex and my wife flirts with me and I know what's coming that night or I get to thinking about it and anticipate a session. I read somewhere that it's prostatic fluids building up pressure within the prostatic capsule in response to sexual stimuli that make for this sensation. Have that pressure build up long enough and it can become uncomfortable as any guy, especially those that tend to reflux this fluid tension to the testicles and thereby get "blue balls", can testify.

Thus, I think guys with no experience with prostate massage can feel the same general thing. It's just those of us who've trained our sensitivities with prostate stimulation and prostate orgasms can identify it with much greater specificity. When I asked a urologist once how he felt massage made the prostate gland feel better, e.g. for the guys with prostate congestion and chronic prostatitis, he said he believed massaging relaxed the gland and thereby reduced the pressure or fluid tension within it making it feel better.

I feel that same process occurring in the course of a good session. Obviously the dry orgasms are an intensely pleasurable side-benefit if not focal point of the experience but the pressure and arousal I previously felt in my gland become relieved by the end of the session and my "desire" for another session eases off for a couple days or so.

Hello, slimjim.

Yes, there is an increase in fluid pressure, and there is certainly swelling going on. The massage therapists who've worked on me said they could feel the prostate swell up as they massaged it.

Best Regards,

Dave

Interesting. I asked my urologist to see if he could feel a difference in my gland from a "full" state, i.e., days since sex or an Aneros session and feeling pressure there from wanting to ejaculate or just having "emptied" really well with sex as with my wife the night before and he said that wasn't something generally noticeable to him on exams. Thought it would have been so perhaps there's some variation between men. My gland is very small and healthy thankfully and perhaps any such difference before and after ejaculation is hardly noticeable in my case.

Turnrow,

While there are different physiological factors that account for this (as slimjm has discussed), prostate swelling feels much like an erection does, the difference is that it is in a different area of ones body. If I had to define it I would say it is a pleasant sense of engorgement localized within the prostate and associated with sexual stimuli and feelings of arousal. For those unfamiliar with prostate sensations, it may be perceived as a pleasant fullness within the rectum and in an area internal to the perineum. Prostate swelling occurs simultaneously with penile erections but it can also be experienced separately. The latter occurrence is more typical in individuals where significant rewiring has taken place. While penile erection is the common manifestation of arousal in most men, for rewired men prostate swelling may be an even earlier indicator. In my own case I have come to perceive arousal in my prostate first, long before an erection takes place!
