Hello-
I have been reading your blog and have really enjoyed it.
I am starting a new website about many subjects discussed in your blog and on the forum.
Aneros, prostate orgasm, e-stim, hands free orgasms, etc.
Would you be interested in writing? I would compensate your time $20 per 1,000 word
article. We be doing product reviews and tutorials for men. I would also send you products to review.
Let me know your thoughts-

Thanks for your comment on my blog, if it hasn't only been for aquisition of staff for your new site.
My thoughts?
I really do love the non-profit design of this forum. And I am quite thankful that Aneros provides this site at no costs and without any annoying commercials. Even more I appreciate the selfless help the members of this forum give to each other. This is how internet should be and that's why I don't like your idea at all.
Sorry, I am not interested.

@SOwithoutAneros I enjoy blogging on Aneros and don't expect any compensation for my time. IMHO, that would be a huge distraction from providing the real, honest feedback ('selfless help" is so appropriate) to members. We are indeed a "family" and share a common bond. There is almost nothing out-of-bounds for us to discuss (and most of us have read, seen and experienced it all!) Yes, there are a few "kinks" here, but, hey, I believe we all are learning from one another and I, like you, prefer to keep it as it is. Touche' .

I don't see the issue - write an article, get paid, share the link and article here with members.

I'd probably share even more, and spend a little bit more time writing things in a clear concise way if i was getting paid or I thought it was going to get a bigger audience.

I feel like this Aneros community has a high intelligence when it comes to sexual pleasure and the various pathways and flavors there of. I'd write for them with no hesitation, especially if they are giving you free products to review. Obviously you'd have to write from the heart and not hype products you didn't believe in or else you'd lose credibility quickly, but why not? It sounds like a fun opportunity.

I would have said..."make it 100 bucks and you got a deal".

If you were to reconsider:

I'd ask for a bigger rate.
I'd ask how your pay would be sourced (#1)
I'd ask why a new site is being created. What's the intent?
I'd ask how access to the new site will be arranged (#2).
I'd ask how your identity would be protected (#3).
I'd ask how Aneros as a company would benefit.
I'd ask yourself how you could keep your paid posts impartial, and how to assure the wider audiance of this.

#1 - is the pay coming from future subscribers? i.e. it will be a closed site and members will have to pay?
#2 - Will it be closed off to just subscribers?
#3 - they would have to ship products to you for testing / review, and also pay you - so implications for taxes, money laundering checks done by the FBI / IRS etc.

My own feeling on the matter would be based on the answers to the above questions. I generally dislike the idea of a fragmented community (but conversely like the idea of de-centralised services used by the community so as to avoid downtime (e.g. Aneros becomes bankrupt and closed the site) ).

I also worry about sinister takeover plots and future potential subscriptions, which lots of "Web 2.0" companies seem to like doing.

@SOwithoutAneros

Thanks for bringing this question to the forum (since I was the one that sent you the PM)

In retrospect maybe I SHOULD have polled the community first regarding my idea of a new website about male sexual pleasures (with focus on Aneros).
I guess I felt less confident about asking the whole community, my thought was "who was "I" to start a new site like this when there were other much more senior and experienced members". Anywho, here we are.

I think it would be best to answer @lonewolf8 questions because it covers most of the concerns 😉

I'd ask for a bigger rate. Depending on the quality of the article, that works for me.
I'd ask how your pay would be sourced (#1) I would pay out of my pocket, via paypal.
I'd ask why a new site is being created. What's the intent? This is a long term interest of mine (forum member since '08).
I'd ask how access to the new site will be arranged (#2). Site is free
I'd ask how your identity would be protected (#3). Use any pen name your like, forum name is A-OK.
I'd ask how Aneros as a company would benefit. Aneros affiliate program. There will be text affiliate links on the site (but no ads), but nothing "sales-y". Aneros gets 70%, I get 30% if there are any sales.
I'd ask yourself how you could keep your paid posts impartial, and how to assure the wider audience of this. I want honest reviews and articles. People can sniff out B.S.

#1 - is the pay coming from future subscribers? i.e. it will be a closed site and members will have to pay? Free site, the pay is coming from me.
#2 - Will it be closed off to just subscribers? No subscriptions. Free site for all.
#3 - they would have to ship products to you for testing / review, and also pay you - so implications for taxes, money laundering checks done by the FBI / IRS etc. Good point! 1099-MISC forms are required if you’'ve paid a nonemployee $600 or more during the year. To be honest I don't think I could pay one individual over $600 per year for articles. https://payable.com/taxes/1099-filing-requirements

P.S. If anyone is interested in writing for the site, please PM me! 🙂

@The_Bishop, thanks for your polite answer to my post and sorry for bringing your question to the forum without asking you first.
Perhaps out of a kind of protective instinct I might have answered a little bit too upset, too. If I went too far earlier on, I'd like to apologize.
But as often, first this community helped me to open my mind to different aspects of a new idea, thanks to all posters so far.
Neither I would call it an obligation to poll the community first. This forum should maintain a free exchange of ideas as well within posts as within private messages.
I'm fully okay with that, but I still can't see any benefit that intended website could provide, instead I'd feel like I'd betray all the forum members who shared their wisdom with me here, if I would start to sell their knowledge and my resulting experiences anywhere else. That's why I will stick to this forum and try to give back to the community at least something.
Good vibes to all of you! 🙂

@SOwithoutAneros

Thank you for your thoughtful reply. 🙂
I can understand you concerns, I'm glad you are (hopefully) OK with this new project.
My aim is to bring the aneros and other methods we have shared here to a wider audience.
I am currently designing the site and have had interest from a couple of forum members
to write for the site, bringing their expertise and perspective on aneros and other related topics.

Again, I would like to extend the offer to anyone that is interested in writing or want more details please PM me. 🙂

Bish

@The_Bishop, thanks for your understanding. As I can't preclude a win-win-situation, if you really might have the unforeseen success in gaining a wider audience for Aneros without fragmenting this community, who am I to condemn your purposes? But I myself still wouldn't take part either. I wish us all the best. May the vibes stay with us! 🙂
