Hello, everybody
I want to share my experience with you about the aneros.com webshop.
I few weeks a go a placed a order on the aneros.com shop. I pay'd with my credit card.
A few days after that i noticed that somebody had used my card numbers to buy a flying ticket in arabia. €793,- gone!
I hope i get my money back from the card service, € 793 is a lot of money to mis when you want to pay bills and house.
I use the latest viral scanners and updates. Also i never used my creditcard , so i am pretty sure that this site is not save.
I few day after the purchase i received a fake email from [email protected] , the asked me for my credit card numers etc.
I did not respond to that email. I knew that it was a fake mail. But they knew my name , adres , everything so the informatin is leaking out this site. It scares my that they have all my billing information even my home adres !
greetings
You're not the first one to report this, I'm afraid. I remember someone on chat last month saying that they'd had a large fraudulent charge on their card a short while after ordering from this site.
i sent aneros last sunday a email that my card numbers where stolen and used, they didnt even reply'd to it.
its a SHAME!
Aneros / HiH blatantly lied directly to our faces.
They came out publicly saying that no credit card information had been leaked.
I only made 1 use of my credit card that same month, a purchase through anero's website.
Then shortly after the hacking I got a lot of fraudulent charges on my credit card.
I understand it's entirely possible the information could have been compromised long ago, but common sense tells me that it leaked from Anero's website.
Purchase made early in the month (only use of this card in months), hacking happens mid month, by the end of the month fraudulent charges crop up.
I feel Like I was Lied to directly to my face, and I am NEVER going to make a purchase with them again, I will consider supporting retailers of their products, but because of this I'm 100% NEVER going to use their web store again. I even went so far as to point this out in repeated e-mails to management asking repeatedly for literally any sort of response, never got any. They know they fucked up somewhere along the line and don't have the honesty to admit it.
Literally ANY response of any type would be greatly appreciated here HIH. My respect for you has gone to zero. My eventual next purchase will likely be the "duke" if it's a good device for me and HIH hasn't done ANYTHING by that point then I'm gone. I'll go support other community's and manufactures.

I'm the one that Twlltin is referring to. And yes, shortly after placing an order with Aneros for one of their products, I was contacted by my cc company asking about a charge I made in the Middle East. I confirmed it was bogus and that the HIH charge was made by me. They cancelled the card and issued me a new one. Still...clearly there is a problem with ordering from Aneros online. You've been warned...proceed at your own risk.
I put in an order in early March, and within a few days my bank called me regarding a plane ticket that someone tried to charge to my card in the Middle East, also. I never got charged, thank God, but I did have to cancel my card and have a new one issued. I had no idea that it had to do with this site, but I just checked the dates: I ordered the Aneros on the 6th and then my bank called me about the fraud on the 9th. Yikes. These products are fantastic, and I wish the Aneros team the very best in being able to tighten up security before major damage is caused.
I too noticed that a few weeks after the forum hack here at Aneros.com that I had a fraudulent charge on my credit card. And I haven't placed an order with Aneros in a few years. Since I don't use my credit card much, or even that often for Internet purchases, it sure is suggestive that it was a result of the Aneros web site being hacked much more thoroughly than admitted, security practices were not what they should have been, and that Aneros/HIH improperly kept credit card number details on their servers well after purchases were done. Which also implies that CT either lied to us likely for legality and liability purposes as is typical of most corporations never admitting guilt, or was and/or is totally ignorant about the extent of the damage done from the hack. This would be very disappointing considering how unusually good Aneros has been in the past in terms of customer service. I can only assume since walterww10's post is recent there is ongoing security problems here at Aneros.com. It would be good for an Aneros representative to address this topic here. But I suspect that to be highly unlikely assuming this whole thread doesn't just get entirely deleted.
This sadly doesn't install any confidence in me to want to order directly through Aneros/HIH in the future. 🙁
its a bloody shame
All i want was simply sorry, "whe immidiaty going to fix this", or something like that was the least they could do. But the don't responded on my emails.
I have a bad feeling with the aneros products i have, for me its the same as finding out that my favorite jeans are made by little children in a factory in china. It leaves a bad feeling to the product.
Í never buy a Aneros again, i am thinking about the nexus products , i heard that the gyro kicks ass..
It is clearly from the repy form Love_is that the shop AND the forum is not safe. So this is my last message , i am going to delete my account out of security reasons.
Does anybody know how to delete a account?
Thanx
Hey Guys,
It is extremely disheartening to hear that some of you have not received a response via email concerning this very serious matter.
Because of the sensitivity of this matter and the undermining behavior of hackers in general, we have been working diligently to get this situation resolved as quickly as possible.
While we do not store credit card information, we have learned that there are other other techniques to get this information by intercepting the communication with our credit card processing company.
Only by serving our customers well, do we justify our existence as a business. We strive to have the best customer service, however, it is clear that we have failed to meet a standard of expectation. I will be personally addressing our customer service team to determine the source of our lack of communication and prevent issues like this from arising again.
We attempted to fix the current website involving extreme measures to tighten security and clean up any vulnerable code, however, there is still concern over the safety of the website and the only solution was to build a new site from the ground up -- which is exactly what we have been working on.
We have hired a team of the best experts that are putting in copious of amounts of time and effort to bring you the security you deserve along with improved content. The new website has been built upon a trusted codebase that will ensure the safety and security of our site moving forward. We hope to launch the new site within the coming week and will be sending out an announcement to our customers via email when it is live.
We value the input from each and every one of you and want to maintain an open channel of communication. A unique email has been created for this situation which will be monitored by a dedicated team including myself. Please feel free to utilize this by sending an email to security [AT] aneros.com
Thanks,
CT
Well with all this said...I actually think mine may have been on the list. Late January I purchased the Vice..after that I had several fraudulent attempts before I caught it...since had replaced all my CC just to be save. I use my card for everything...so couldn't pin it to one source. This makes sense now.
Guess my urge to by the Syn can wait until they resolve this.
@walterww10 - please email security [AT] aneros.com and someone will be able to assist you.
Thank you Ct for you reply
I am sorry for my language in my last mail, please delete it , it wasn't correctly from me to respond in that way. i was a little bit f*up since i stil did not heard from the credit card company when or if i get my money back. I do think i get it back , but i want to see it first to believe it.
I know they people from aneros are making great products , and putting al lot of attention and love in it to make it absolutely right product. I know shit happens . But al i want'd was a response. I waited a week and i heard nothing so i deceided to put my story on the forum, i never wanted to put it her in the out and open in the first place , i know its not good for your company , but i sent my email twice and i did not her anything and thats the reasson why i did find it a shame . I put it here to warn the people. For the users with a small wallet it is a big problem when somebody steals almost 800 euro's/dollars.
Thank you for your response. I respect your honesty.
Greetings

Nice of you to apologize, but I see absolutely no reason to do so. You are correct is asserting your rights it seems to me. Your warning others is of good intention. I think it brought out a lot of the credit card problems other, too, had. I would think that is helpful for administration to know.
Here’s my experience.
Late in April I had my credit card compromised by a fraudulent purchase in the UK. I had this card cancelled by my bank and it was replaced early in May. Using my new card, I made two purchases. One was the Helix SYN and the other was a few bottles of wine from the local branch of a major supermarket chain. This was a face-to-face transaction so it is unlikely that this could have caused the problem.
Two days later, I received a phone call from my bank to advise that my new card had also been compromised, (would you believe) by the purchase of an airline ticket in Dubai!
I PM’d Aneros support who, to their credit, replied almost immediately but denied that the problem could be theirs and telling me that no credit card details are held by them. I replied to Aneros support telling them that I felt the security of their credit card processing company should be investigated. I have yet to receive a reply to that last message.
Having now read this thread, I am more than ever convinced that the problem lies with Aneros’/HIH’s credit card processing company.
Like many of the previous contributors to this thread, I will be very unwilling to make any future purchase through this e-shop until I can be convinced that my card details are secure. I now need positive proof from Aneros that my details will indeed be secure.
Thank you Ct for you reply

There is no need to apologize. I completely understand your frustration with this situation and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
ct: I seem to remember trying to alert you and/or the site admins to this problem by PM. I don't believe the messages were read.
CT, thank you for owning up to this and responding. And also for contradicting my own worst fears for how this is being handled. I certainly appreciate the extra level of detail explained about what has happened, and what you are doing to fix it. Bravo! This definitely puts more confidence in me for future orders placed with you folks after the new web site is in service. I hope this is no longer is a problem in the future.
Now I'm scared I bought a vice last Thursday night. To take advantage of the sale. I know this will be the only thing on the card. My question to CT should I call and cancel card or is your security system fixed?
Sundance19712000: The website was completely replaced two weeks ago in order to improve the security, the forums having been compromised a few days earlier. Reading between the lines, I suspect it hadn't been fully tested at that point, which has caused the problems with people ordering in the recent sale.
CT: I've just seen a fraudulent $4200 charge on my credit card for airline tickets from Egypt. I've already been working with my credit card company, but wanted to share here since its a similar pattern others have described.
SaddleUp, when did you order? I'm a bit nervous over this.
Guys,
I strongly urge you to contact the company directly via the "CONTACT" button on the homepage. It's the surest and quickest way to have this situation addressed.
Cheers
BF Mayfield
