Hey all.
My question is about the different types of contractions. How do I distinguish the differences between rectal contractions, anal contractions, and PC contractions, or are they all pretty much the same?
and before you just say "Look in the aneros wiki," I already have and didn't get any information other than "The contraction of the anus", or "the contractions of the PC muscles".

In response to you specific question, those groups are all part of the pelvic floor muscles but they are not the same. Actually there is a little more information in the WIKI that is specific to you question, please see Pelvic Floor muscles for some more details.
While the anal sphincter and PC muscles often work together (in orgasm they spasm together), to a certain extent, you can learn to contract them separately if you use gentle intent when contracting. Member 'CaveOfMystery' gave us a good description of his technique employing both these primary muscle groups in his thread Quick and Dirty Path to the Super-O which I encourage you to read.
thank you for the advice, and i apologize for not looking more thoroughly. both of your links were really helpful. Let us hope to get some better results.
One more question: P-waves. What kind of pleasure? i've been getting this sensation that will start in my lower back and spread to cover most of my back, shoulders, and the back of my head. it feels like my skin is being electrified, but at the same time feels akin to the sensation in your mouth when you eat a mint. is this a P-wave? if not than what am i feeling and what does a P-wave feel like?
aneros_user41876,
This is the definition of a P-wave from the Aneros WIKI Glossary :
pleasure wave (P-wave) A feeling of sexual excitement and pleasure that normally originates in the lower abdominal and/or pelvic regions. P-waves may be localized or spread out all over the body. Some have suggested that the sensation feels like butterflies in the stomach (but lower in the abdomen) or as the feeling of sexual electricity associated with ones first touch from the first encounter with a lover. As the body becomes more sensitized with arousal amplification, pleasure waves become more common and can be produced by the Aneros or by other arousal amplification techniques. P-waves may be very subtle or intense.
What you described fits very nicely into the definition above (...feeling of sexual electricity ="...feels like my skin is being electrified,"), but your own personal p-waves may far exceed the limits of the above definition. IMHO, that definition is really just the starting point of all the variations these pleasure waves may take. Just as 'white' light is composed of a spectrum of colors, pleasure waves are composed of a spectrum of sensations. As you become more experienced you will learn to differentiate some of those sensations but I hope you just learn to enjoy them all without over analyzing.
thank you for putting up with all my...unintelligent questions. you've been a real help.
Hey, aneros_user41876. As rumel described, the pelvic floor muscles tend to work together as a group, as we obviously notice when we "pull in" strongly with our pelvic floor muscles to simultaneously close the urinary and anal sphincters. But with gentle contraction techniques you can separate to a fairly good extent your PC muscle contraction from your anal sphincter tightening contraction. The best way to train to do this is to sit while urinating and practice several times using just enough of a gentle contraction focused on your urethral area to cut off urine flow midstream yet not enough so that you feel your anus tightening. Obviously if you "pull in" hard enough you'll tighten both, but the key to making the Aneros work successfully and produce those wonderful orgasmic feelings is to train yourself to do PC contractions (the gently cutting off urine flow contractions) without an appreciable degree of anal contractions. Some can separate these more than others, but the key is to separate them as much as you can.
The rectal contraction with Aneros use is a little different because it's involuntary, that is, it's not the voluntary bearing down contraction we're all familiar with to help push out a constipated stool. Rather, it's an involuntary response the rectum makes while you're holding gentle PC contractions with the Aneros inserted in which first the anus quivers and wiggles and then the whole rectum kind of clamps down onto the massager and holds it firmly against the prostate which drives a set of responses that with time and practice produces orgasmic building up feelings that culminate in a dry prostatic or "super" orgasm.
