I've only been at it for a matter of months, but I definitely feel like my progress has leveled off. Almost every session feels like I could build to an orgasm if I only had one final push.
I've never used a vibrator of any kind, so I'm intrigued by the Vice, but I fear it could be too much stimulation for a beginner.
I also couldn't help but notice the existence of e-stim prostate devices. Are they safe? Might they help break this barrier?
To be clear, I'm not looking for shortcuts. I'd just like to know whether there exist other options if I eventually find I'm not moving forward.
@CollectingSmiles IMHO, I would just "stay the course" for a while. I own a good vibrating prostate stimulator but never use it! There is something to be said for just letting your own body guide it's way to your pleasure center with just a little help from Aneros. I never tried e-stim for prostate. I'm sure it would be effective but again IMHO that is not what I want at this time. Good luck on your Aneros journey!
@CollectingSmiles like you, I've only been at this for about a month and am still a newbie myself. I was using another massager that wouldn't stay in, and I couldn't get comfortable enough to relax and enjoy it. I ended up and bought vice earlier this week and was a bit worried that I would have problems taking it since it is larger than the previous massager. Honestly, even though I've only used it a. Pimple of times, I have had no problems with it. The vice actually easier to insert (even for being bigger), and it feels more comfortable once it is in. Also, I am now able to relax better without having to fight to keep it in. I haven't experienced the big O yet, but feel, with the vice, that I'm headed in the right direction.
From personal experience, aneros is MUCH safer than e-stim. I practiced e-stim safely years ago and while safely practiced it won't mess with your heart etc. I did desensitize some things, at least that is the theory that my urologist and I have. There could be the possibility of ED or of DE with e-stim, even safe e-stim. I have both. For what its worth, both my urologist and my family physician feel than aneros products are well designed, harmless, and may be beneficial, especially for BPH. They both caution though that before using them a guy should be screened to make sure he does not have prostate cancer.
Keep as posted. I'm also in the market for a vibrating toy. I'm not new to this and have played with many vibrating toys. Felt good but not ever close to reaching an O, until recently! Purchased for the wife an inflatable vibrating dildo and a wand. I played with the inflatable several times, it's a little to large for me and takes some time get it in. So last time after I finally got it in place, it wasn't long I could feel the O brewing, before I knew it cumming all over the place. Wasn't ready for that! Pretty much the same thing went down the wand vibrator, one soiled bed spread! Fortunately it cleaned up and dried before the old lady got home. Guess the Aneros sessions have made my prostate more responsive/sensitive. Leaning toward the Vice at the moment.

I wouldn't jump to a vibrator just yet. Have you tried Kegel exercises with out penetrating? I would if you haven't perfected them yet.
