I am desperately trying to find a lube that doesn’t burn or leave a terrible aching feeling when I lube up . Silicone lubes work just fine for me when I use the traditional aneros massagers but when using the Syn Series Massagers I have tried Pür Back Door and a hybrid lube called Sliquid Organics . Sliquid Organics one is vegan and supposedly nothing bad goes in it . I realize I can still be allergic to natural ingredients but to be honest the Sliquid Organic type burned the worst .
Any recommendations for water based or hybrid lubes that won’t burn and be safe for silicone massagers ?

I mix my own oil-based lube and it works great, maybe you could make your own water-based lube with as few ingredients as possible ? You might be allergic to some preservation agents and by making your own small batches as needed, you could avoid those. Else I feel it's going to be trial and error for a long time and this can be both expensive and frustrating...

In a pinch I like Astroglide Gel and it doesn't burn, but KY for sensitive skin does, that's why I say this might be hard to solve, there does not seem to be any logic to this.  I tried some "all natural" stuff too and it was very disappointing.

I use Good Clean Love as a water-based lube and I really like it. It’s not too expensive and I can find it at the grocery stores. It may be worth a try.

I’m not a fan of Sliquid either. I haven’t noticed any burning, but I find that it doesn’t lube up that well...not very slippery.

I second good clean love, which is glycerin free. It still burns a bit, but less than others, for me. I have found others that don’t burn too much, usually without glycerin, but I don’t find them regularly and don’t keep track.

It is incredible how good it feels to use silicone lube, because it doesn’t burn. I wonder how many people decide anal play isn’t for them because of bad lube experiences...

@qwiksting I never tried Sessions but see this thread. Looks like it's made by Sliquid.

Have you ever tried shea butter?
I use cold-pressed organic shea butter and I can tolerate it better than other types of lubes.

My lube of choice! I use a grape sized ball of Shea butter inserted and then lube each toy with olive oil. Works fantastic!

@zentai Thank you for the feedback . It definitely could get pricey buying lubes and only to be let down in the end if you are allergic or have bad reactions . May I ask what your recipe is for your small batch oil based lubes is ?

@stratapaths

Yeah sure, look at this thread right --> here. You'll see it somewhere in the middle.  I do think I found the recipe somewhere on the Forum a long time ago, so I'm not taking credit for Cocowax lube in any way and you might have to adjust the ratio to get what you want. It's great stuff in my opinion but it stains pretty bad so keep that in mind. I wish you great success with it !

Any recommendations for water based or hybrid lubes that won’t burn and be safe for silicone massagers ?

The primary function of the lubrication is to assure a minimum of friction between your Aneros and you. Since the rectum produces very little in the way of natural lubrication, it is necessary to provide supplemental lubrication to assure a comfortable and irritation free buffer. Understand the amount of Aneros movement generated by your internal muscular contractions is actually very small, so in that sense it doesn't really slide much at all (except upon insertion and extraction). The concept of the Aneros moving freely is just to make sure there is no encumbrance to these small movements.

There has been a continuing discussion on the Forum about lubrication types and issues. Next to discussions about the Super-O, lubrication is another frequently discussed topic. I recommend you first read the Lubrication paragraph in the Getting Started chapter of the Aneros WIKI and then read through the Bestlube..., Need Help with lube choice, coconut oil, Coconut Oil and Unrefined shea butter..., threads for additional information and insight into this topic.

Most commercially prepared, water based personal lubricants contain glycerin which has laxative effects and depending on the sensitivity of the individual, may cause the dreaded "urge to purge" syndrome cutting short one's Anerosession. Additionally, glycerin when synthesized by the body may lead to elevated triglyceride levels in the blood. However, other individuals seem to be unaffected by the small amounts of glycerin in these lubricants. In any event, glycerin (whether naturally or synthetically derived) is but one of many chemical constituents in these lubes.

As far as I know there have been no long term studies of the health effects of commercially prepared or natural personal lubricants. Because of the frequency and duration of Anerosessions the use of commercial personal lubricants has become a subject of concern for a number of Forum members due to the repeated exposure to the chemical constituents contained in these products and their long term health effects. Many members have chosen to seek out more natural lubricants in hopes of ameliorating any long term negative effects.

There are many choices for natural lubrication, it is more a matter of personal preference which particular lube you choose to use. Olive, coconut, walnut and almond oils are all popular alternative natural lube choices, shea butter is another popular natural lubricant. These natural lubricants do not contain glycerin. The rectal wall is a highly permeable membrane, easily absorbing water and the chemicals therein. While natural oil lubes do get absorbed like water based lubes, the absorption rate is slower and as the viscosity of the oil increases, the absorption rate decreases. Hence lighter weight (low viscosity) oils like grape seed and olive oil will be more readily absorbed and disperse more rapidly than heavier oils (higher viscosity) like almond oil or canola oil.

Personally, I am concerned about the uptake of the various chemicals in commercial 'personal lubricants'. Since I've developed a sensitivity to the glycerin found in many of the commercial lubricants, I've switched to using natural oil based lubricants such as a 50%-50% mixture of almond oil and shea butter or a 67% coconut oil - 33% shea butter mixture or the 'Natural Jelly' formulation. These compounds are safe for use with both the plastic and silicone Aneros models. I find these natural lubes are both long lasting and of sufficient lubricity to not hinder desired Aneros movement for long Anerosessions. As a side note, the 'Natural Jelly' formulation is very tenacious in its adhesion to your massager, this makes highly resistant to moving 'dryness'.

Good Vibes to You!
