I am interested in doing some research on something which I believe is called tao.

Kundilini energies. Chakras. All of that stuff. I think that's tao.

Where would a good starting place for learning about that be?

Also, could one of you give an overview of what all of that stuff is?

Thanks in advanve

Over the past couple years I've been learning to meditate & do chi-gung (qi-gong) which is kind of like tai-chi and I've had some exposure to taoism. The concept of chi or chakra have some similarities but are very different at the same time, some cultures may refer to the bodies energy as chakra or prana & in china (where taoism is based) they call it chi. Both have different systems & explanations but I feel they describe the same concepts in the end (although they have completely different chakra/chi networks in the body)

I like energyarts.com for taoism & meditation, Bruce Frantzis (the author/lineage holder) is an American that has spent his whole life studying taoism, meditation & this concept of chi or energy (so there isn't a language barrier). You should look into the major differences between the chakra concept & taoism. I like taoism because it is very very old & resonates with me as a person, but you may find the opposite or find another esoteric branch that you like better. This site (energy arts) can do a better job than I to get you a first exposure to taoism. Start there & see where it takes you, or maybe another person will have a place they like. Just keep an open mind & find what resonates with you!

MMO_RPGlol.

The Tao or Dao means 'the way' or 'the path', Taoism is the practice of this philosophical/religious concept utilizing the teachings founded in the text of the Tao Te Ching written by the Chinese philosopher Laozi.

Kundilini is the term applied to the libidinous energy of the body emanating from the base of the spine near the root Chakra in the Hindu philosophical/religious belief system.

Tantric practices evolved out the Hindu and Buddhist philosophies.

You can use the internet to find a plethora of resources for further information on these topics. To participate in a Forum to discuss/ask questions about Taoist practices you may be interested in joining the The Tao Bums group.
Good Vibes to You !

Sandman - Thanks for the energyarts link. This seems a good source of information for me.
