During two previous sessions I experienced a very slow increase in intensity but the problem is there was no climax. Instead my heart rate began going very fast and I had to stop in order to avoid either a heart attack or stroke. So now I've realized that trying to achieve a super o carries the risk of heart attack or stroke and even if you do achieve it, the intensity of the sensations could also trigger a heart attack because it's reportedly many times more intense than a regular orgasm. This is not a risk that I've read about so I think this whole thing is dangerous.
Interesting. I’ve had many chains of intense prostate orgasms, magnitudes more intense than traditional orgasms, and I don’t think my heart rate has ever sped up. I have put my hand to my jugular to check many times, and it’s always normal.
The heart rate rising is all part of the process. Do you think your heart rate stays low during sex and traditional ejaculation? On the whole, the prostate journey is not dangerous. Someone encounter some issues related to something else, but nothing life threatening. I’d have a pop at you experiencing terror at the gates. You can keep going and the fears will subside or you can quit. “I will do myself no harm”.
I see it as being similar to a max effort aerobic activity, unless you have health issues I don't see Super-Os causing a heart attack or stroke, but as @Helghast suggested, if you had some sort of panic attack from the intensity, then yes it could feel like something bad is going to happen. And it's not something you can easily control. "Terror at the gate" is real fear and nothing to scoff at. Feeling like you're going to die is not fun.
While I don't think Super-Os are inherently dangerous, nothing is 100% safe. You can slip in the shower. Sudden cardiac arrest is around 0.5 per 100,000 during marathon races. While I never heard about a Super-O cardiac arrest, there's likely a fraction of a % it could happen.
Everyone's tolerance to risk is different. If I'm going to have a heart attack, I'd rather "go" while having a Super-O than shoveling snow, but if you think it's risky, it's perfectly fine to abstain and concentrate on other hobbies instead. In my mind it's the safest "Extreme-Sport".

This made me chuckle. I’ll just add that dying from a super-o is much better than a kick in the nuts lol.

Yes, there is a very minor risk of heart attack but IMHO it is no greater than having sex in any other way or other physical activity. I think you may be overthinking this and buying into the hype about intense sensations. In the 15 years I've been reading this forum I have read no reports of heart attacks or strokes as a result of Aneros use. Surely it there had been any such instances it would have been reported.
It is far more likely that you could experience a panic attack as a result of "Terror at the Gates" which has been reported on this forum. Your mind can create problems that simply do not exist except for you creating them. You just need to trust that your own body will not spontaneously do something dangerous to itself.

I mean,if they died of the heart attack,it’s unlikely they’d have reported back, just sayin’ 😉

Yeah, that's true, no doubt, but at the very least if this were a real issue we would have heard reports of angina or transient ischemic attacks

So do you all have increased heart rate during solo sex? I am not saying it is dangerous. I’m just saying I don’t get it personally. I can see how it could be related to fear or stress due to the unknown. Maybe those with heart monitoring watches can report their heart rate peaks and duration throughout a session? Compare it to their traditional masturbation heart rates? That is if it is easy to do.
I remembered that one guy monitored his heart rate while having a session https://www.reddit.com/r/aneros/comments/n3k1v8/had_the_cool_idea_of_tracking_heart_rate_during/
@pirontras wild. His heart goes up to 150! Maybe my heart doesn’t work properly, or maybe I have no sense of what’s going on. I never measure during the orgasm but afterwards (during I’m too busy having fun).
I have had the "terror at the gates" a few times. My heart does race so during my last session I used my new heart rate monitor and recorded the whole session. I topped out at 115 during this particular event which isn't even in the cardio exercise zone. I know that I have been higher though so I'm going to keep record of a few sessions and see what I get. I use THC during my sessions which increases heart rate on its own.
Here's a graph of my session for those who geek out on raw data, haha.

@charlessmith Using the Aneros or engaging in prostate play is just like any other kind of sexual activity, and sexual activity is oftentimes cardiovascular activity. Playing with your prostate has the same level of risk as penile masturbation. You can consult your doctor to see what your current state of health is like, but the Aneros is relatively harmless to use.
