I think what I had in mind when I replied earlier were some of the videos. I think it's unavoidable that some of the people who make videos are exhibitionists first, and aneros'ers second... and there's motivation to embellish things to put on a good show.

There's one video in particular I can't watch with a straight face... it's like an exorcism. It seems completely over the top. But then I remember sensations I've felt only as flashes, moments of hip thrusting that took over, bribing my body with pleasure in exchange. And then I wonder what if those brief moments weren't so brief, what if they just kept firing over and over again... what would that look or sound like? Maybe that video isn't so crazy, and wouldn't that be nice.

Anyway, it was a throw-away comment, wasn't trying to start a big thing.

Yes mate. If it’s the one I’m thinking of,it’s a bit overdone. Maybe he’s super-o’ing and maybe he isn’t. I think it’s an attention seeking video myself. Vids like that don’t help,they really hold the super-o up high out of a lot peoples reach.

There's no doubt in my mind that this video is real. Is it representative of most people's sessions, clearly not, and it's probably not even representative of this particular guy's sessions. Maybe it was a phase for him, and now he gets less spectacular body motion, no way to know. Also, a ton of movement and spasming does not mean that the pleasure is that much better, it's just the way the body reacts to the pleasure, not the other way around.

Certainly, anyone who posts a video like this is a little bit exhibitionist, and it's clear that they'll present the most impressive video possible, but to say it's embellished, I don't see what the motivation to trick people would be. If we start having this mindset, then we'd have to wonder about Super-O stories and how authentic they are. I don't think it's a productive thing to do.

Some of my sessions definitely would have looked like this if I had decided to film them, not a ton, but they did happen. It's much better to go with the belief that these things are possible and that maybe they'll happen to you one day, than to set limits on yourself.

but to say it's embellished, I don't see what the motivation to trick people would be.

More views, more reactions, more people seeing their naked body. I've seen lots of other videos where the guy is using the aneros all wrong... thrusting it like a dildo, jerking off, and clearly putting on a show, with the aneros as a prop. They're annoyingly common, when I'm searching for genuine videos of actual experiences.

Some of my sessions definitely would have looked like this if I had decided to film them, not a ton, but they did happen. It's much better to go with the belief that these things are possible and that maybe they'll happen to you one day, than to set limits on yourself.

That's the thing, I know what has to be going on for me internally to have a big involuntary response... I have some measure of it already. And if I extrapolate that out... what would have to be happening to me internally, to elicit an involuntary response of that magnitude? The answer is scary.

But maybe the internal:external ratio isn't the same for everyone, and I'm projecting my own physical response on this, in a way that really doesn't apply. It's entirely possible I'm not understanding what I'm looking at.

I think there are also degrees of "involuntary". There are things that you can't control, as if muscles are being activated by unknown electrodes. And then there are things that are effectively involuntary, things you can't resist not doing, because they're generating so much pleasure. The biggest physical response I had was when I was lying on my side, and my hips were doing big thrusts and my legs were moving almost like cycling a bike... there was some physically voluntary component to it, but in that moment there was nothing I wanted more than to keep that feeling going, it was so consuming... it was like a mental involuntary. It felt like my body had made a secret deal behind my back, to exchange pleasure for control. Very different from the electrode type involuntaries.

I could imagine a scenario where instead of hip-thrusting, maybe it could be vocalizing as "the thing I'm doing, but can't not do".

I don't really know what my point is anymore, I'm just wondering aloud.

@clenchy

We might be going outside the scope of the original topic, but I guess it's always possible to move things to another thread later and clean this one up, if necessary. And this fit with the hyperbole idea, and the concept of Super-Os being so much more than traditional Os...

I get what you're saying, good Aneros footage is hard to come by. I'm probably bein naïve, thinking that people won't ever fake it for likes, but even the very acrobatic stuff is not outside the scope of what I experienced, even if it seems outlandish.

You're not wrong there, and this kind of O can get to a point where it is unpleasant, or downright scary like you say. Obviously, we're very far from the calm seas, warm floating feelings here... Some people may chase this kind of experience, I guess you need to get there, or very close, to know if this is what you want for yourself. Maybe you don't, and to me that's perfectly, 100% fine.

To me this is VERY close to what happens in this kind of situation. There is a definite mental switch where you are not only letting go, but control feels like it's taken from you, by some unfamiliar part of yourself. Again, this is not necessarily enjoyable in the classic sense... Maybe you don't think you have a point, but you're probably closer tot the truth than you think.

To connect with the original post, I'd say that such an experience will shatter any prior conception you had about what a Super-O is or should be, BUT thinking that it's the kind of thing you're supposed to experience in a normal session, that's madness. Maybe it will happen only a handful of times, and to me it's really not what the Super-O journey is about at all. People seeking this and thinking that this is what a "real" Super-O is, I think they're setting themselves up for disappointment and burnout.

It’s achingly cool, someone’s (@rumel) years ago writing shines on owing to the persistent and good-natured inquisitiveness of participants presently and across time.  Gold is forever, gold tarnishes not.  Golden be all.

I haven’t quoted intellectual father @rumel, because if I had, it would be his entire post!

But for one aspect of this thread, I’d like to try to sum up, given a “portrayal”, in textual or video form, of an “effusive” or “exuberant” (hyperbolic?) flavor or not…

Even something small, like a word used to describe a sensation can get me thinking in another way and give me something new to focus on.

I love this and your preceding explanation.  But in a flight of fancy I want to lift it out of context.  Then, liken the route to the new form of pleasure to the resolution of a mythological collision between Apollo, god of reason, and Dionysos, god of ecstasy and wine.  A hint about the denouement: both surrendered a little and the ceded energies synergistically formed a supernova, so to speak!

Egads, mea culpa of hyperbole.

@Clenchy, @Zentai, & @Helghast you guys have certainly taken a tangent off of my original post, be that as it may, in the interest of getting back to @Clenchy's objection to my inappropriate use of the term 'hyperbole' I rather like @helical 's terms of "effusive" & "exuberant" as a substitute so I have edited my original post incorporating those terms.

As regards to the videos circulating on porn sites, at best, I think they represent atypical user experiences, at worst, they show limited understanding of Aneros devices as prostate massagers and are of little use for learning techniques leading to Super-O's. I still agree with what @B-Mayfield said 15 years ago...

My opinion is that YOU WILL NEVER DISCOVER THE TECHNIQUES OF ACCESSING THE SUPER O FROM WATCHING A VIDEO. The reason, as I've described previously, is that there is a great deal that is going on internally that defies scrutiny. So while such videos may be titillating, they will have a difficult time being enlightening. (It's like someone giving you a video that shows an individual meditating and expecting you to learn how to meditate from it.) What I'm trying to express here is that even if one sees an individual who outwardly displays physical signs of this type orgasm (and remember that many don't), it does nothing to illuminate the path for getting there! Such videos may be interesting to watch, but they won't get you where you want to go.

Good Vibes to You!

I didn't object to it or call it inappropriate, I just understood it to mean something other than what you intended.

Essential Meaning of hyperbole

: language that describes something as better or worse than it really is

In describing his accomplishments, he's somewhat given to hyperbole. [=he tends to exaggerate his accomplishments] The customer's letter of complaint was filled with hyperboles [=(more commonly) exaggerations] and outrageous claims.

In the interest of tidiness and out of respect for the thread, I'll delete my posts here. Maybe my partners in crime will do likewise.

@clenchy

Please don't delete your posts just yet Maybe the Admins can split the thread instead, from eagerbeaver's post onward ? There's a good discussion here...

@rumel, is this a possibility ?

Else, we can do a team effort and everyone could copy their posts in the right order in another thread, maybe it will take a day or two, but at least we can keep this going afterwards. At the very least, I'll do a summary and start another thread if everyone can agree to this.

@Clenchy, you don't need to delete your posts. I appreciate your informing me of how you interpreted my words. It is feedback such as that which makes me want to communicate more clearly and did prompt me to revise my original thread to that end so I thank you for that.

@Zentai, I don't think it's really necessary to go through the trouble of trying to split this thread off, I'm not sure that is even possible. I agree that discussion of video depictions of Aneros use is a topic of some interest and has been discussed in other threads before so creating a new or resurrecting an older thread might be a better solution.

Good Vibes to You!

Thank you so much, OP, for providing an excellent list of the misconceptions of and assumptions commonly made about the nature of orgasm typologies related Aneros use. I saved this thread as an educational resource. Orgasm is a complex phenomenon inside a complex person inside a complex ecosystem. Although there may be some trends across Aneros users on the surface, upon deeper investigation, individual differences, as will always exist in complexity, will become more apparent.
