One thing that I have noticed since starting Aneros use is that my bowel movements are not as regular as before. I use to have regular movements every morning, you could almost set a clock by them, but since I started using my Aneros they are not as regular. Has anyone else noticed this as well?

That's a big 10-4 on the irregularity, chaos snake. For me I'm pretty sure it's the lube (Maximus) that causes it.

A newcomer, I find I have multiple movements throughout the day. This is not a problem. I agree that it probably relates to the lubrication.

Chaos snake,

I would not necessary associate irregularity issues with the lube. Certain lubes are known to produce a laxative effect in some people, but not constipation. What product are you using?

Interestingly, I've noted a slowing effect from the Super O's themselves, particularly when I have had long extended sessions with many orgasms. I suspect that this is a side effect from the neuropeptide cascade that occurs during these orgasms and that it's similar to the way that narcotics work on the system, slowing peristalsis.

You don't say how old you are but if you are advancing into your 50's or later that may have something to do with it.

If you are not cleaning out your rectum before using the Aneros you may be packing some feces tighter than usual. "If in doubt, wash it out first".

I use the Higgins syringe to clean out before most sessions. I have noticed that if I don't clean out and there is a build up in my rectum the session does not go very well.

Your waste is stored in your large intestine until it is ready to be expelled. At that point it is moved down into the rectum and the rectum gives me the 'signal' that it is time to go potty.

I am 63 and have a pretty lengthy history of medical problems so I vacillate between constipation and diarrhea but my doctor knows about it and has checked for any medical issues. He says as long as I can control the diarrhea with Immodium not to worry about it. I take one or two Immodium tablets if I get into the diarrhea and that seems to get me back on a more regular pattern for a few days.

I'm in my late 40's, and I've found that in sessions that last less than 3 hrs, and having a good BM at least a 1/2 hr before insertion, seems to improve my stool in both size and quality(?!), as well as regularity. It appears to be larger and longer with less wiping afterward. If I leave it in overnight or for over 3 hrs, it tends to plug me up a bit for a few days, but then becomes regular again, just in time for another session. Weird, huh?

A sure sign of getting old is obsessing about your stool.

Hi All

Another approach that some of us have found very helpful is using probiotic supplements, particularly acidophilus. Here is a searched thread discussing that possibility:

Hope this offers possibilities for improvement too.

all the best

Hi ALL!

I vote for the lube as well for the culprit!

However, I am more regular than I have ever been!

Switch lubes and find one that works for you . . .

Later, Hlaser99

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I'm sure it's not my age, as I'm in my 30's, and I use Coconut Oil for lube.

I believe it has more to do with how much exercise you do in a given day, how much you eat, what type of food you eat, etc... I don't blame it on lube or anything else. Just a small part of our human biology.
