slippery stuff vs natural lube

I have been using Rumel's homemade lube for quite a while. I have read positive things about slippery stuff and am considering giving that a try.
I'm happy with the natural lube but here is my downside
my batches are solid at room temps and need to be warmed up for use in an injector
being mostly oil, staining is sometimes an issue

anyone tried them both? does the slippery stuff stain as well

Slippery Stuff does not stain, as far as I know, it was designed as a rectal probe lube. I have not tried the homemade lube, but have used Slippery Stuff Gel exclusively recently, and am very happy with it; it's very thick, very slippery (in the anus) and lasts a long time in the rectum. There was even a study done on the safety of lubes in the anus, and Slippery Stuff was the safest, hands down. Read here:

AEGiS-CATIE News: Intriguing findings from study on lubricants - March 29, 2007

there was an earlier post on natural lubes, which can be found here:

http://www.aneros.com/forum/f5/lube-scientists-your-thoughts-experimental-formula-14171/

And there was a thread on what lubes are safer:

http://www.aneros.com/forum/f5/safer-lubricant-14145/

And the thread that started it all:

http://www.aneros.com/forum/f5/lubrication-dangers-update-13551/

As said in an earlier post, natural does not necessarily mean safer.

Thhn,

You might also consider the Flax seed lubricant formula. It is all natural, it doesn't stain, it's cheap as all get out and it cleans up with water. Who knows it might even be healthy for you, after all, Flax seed contains Omega-3's !

Slippery Stuff (blue label) is my road warrior lube. Here's their assortment of lubes: Index.

The Shea mixture was stiff this morning so I broke into the Dopp kit and used Slippery Stuff gel. Got a good three hours out of just 2ml. Gud stuff. Gives a nice session and no irritation that I could detect. I'm a believer butt do like alv's Shea+coconut mix.

thanks for that link BF Mayfield. I do remember reading the beginning of that thread a while back and kind of forgot about it. I think I may give that a try before I purchase any slippery stuff

anyone who has made the lube out of flaxseed... did you use whole or ground seed?

thhn,

Definitely use WHOLE seed. If you were to use ground seed you would not be able to filter it to remove the fine particulates and thus the resulting lube would have some 'grittiness' to it. 'Grittiness' is surely something you would want to avoid in lubricating such a sensitive area as your rectum and anus.

After trying this a few times, I have returned to using just 'Natural Jelly' because of the 'drying out' factor. While the flax seed lube is wonderful internally, it just dries out too quickly around the anal opening to suit me, requiring repeated application of lube, which I find undesirable during an Anerosession.

Note: I would not recommend you try to make large batches of this product as its shelf life at room temperature is only a few days. After that period of time it begins to breakdown into a very watery liquid and looses its cohesive slipperiness. This should not be a problem as it is so easy to make. Boil water, add seeds, simmer 5-7 minutes, strain, allow to cool, use.

thnn,

Just regular ol' whole golden Flaxseed (I bought the organic). You can buy it at any health food store. $3 buys you a 14 ounce bag, which makes a lot of the stuff!

thhn,
I saw your question about slippery stuff vs natural lube. Does it stain? I have never had it stain anything that I have used it for, or on anything that is fabric of any sort. It washes easily out of sheets and most fabrics, although I wouldn't try it on silk. Even water can ruin that. I know from experience that it comes out easily. It is only one of the two lubes that I would use for anal play, the other being Maximus. You can buy maximus and slippery stuff(bluelabel only) both in 250 cc (8 oz.)bottles. Both are glycerin free and water based. Either one is great for anal use. Good luck and enjoy! Just an fyi, red label is silicone based and is not as thick-more liquid felling.

Midnitebelle51,

Just curious, is this your personal preference or your partner's preference or both?

You can also get the Slippery Stuff Gel in a 16 oz pumper, too.

Bumping this thread to get some more input on the Slippery Stuff lube.

Some seem to like the liquid, some gel.

I am looking for an alternative internal lube that does not have the nasty glycerin side effects that I experience sometimes. Would the liquid be the better choice for internal lubrication or would the gel be better?

Slippery Stuff has a liquid and a gel formula. Which would be better to use for injecting internally?

If I may, I am going to put in my 2cents on the issue. Slippery stuff according to a study in epithelial cell reactivity found that it caused no harm to vaginal cells but did cause epithelial shedding and breakdown to rectal cells. There are 2 factors that need to be addressed and that is osmolarity and pH. The only one I know of that takes both issues into consideration but yet has not been tested against epithelium in a non randomized clinical control trial is probe lube. Probe is both isoosmolar and pH neutral. Slippery stuff caused shedding of rectal epithelium bit not vaginal. Sliquid caused vaginal shedding, but not rectal. However sliquid uses a vitamin e as a preservative and accordING to literature on increased consumption of vitamin e, it caused increased cancer in the prostate of men. To be fair they used dl-alpha tocopherol which is a synthetic e. But until the studies show no increased risk of cancer in men supplementing natural d tocopherol I will not advise putting this into your rectum. Boy butter using coconut and and silicon showed large amounts of epithelial shedding of bothe vaginal and rectal tissue on this study. So I cannot in good conscience recommend that product. Good clean love is isoosmolar but it's pH is too low. It's for vaginal use which equated to equal pH. Pjur backdoor uses hyaluronic acid it the issue is the acidity and osmolarity drawing water from the cells. They haven't released osmolarity and pH tests to date. Just to be safe and sure, I am using probe because it passes both tests for osmolarity and pH at th is time.

There is another lube that just crossed my path that I have to get the status of. Passion natural lube. I want to know it's osmolarity and it's pH. I reserve judgment.
But against that I will say this. Silicon lubes tested showed no epithelial interaction. I believe th ey used wet platinum. But still not good for syn models until aneros releases an announcement that it is compatible with their products.

.... but did cause epithelial shedding and breakdown to rectal cells.

So, what exactly does this mean?

As it is implied. Rectal tissue cell breakdown and shedding. Much like other products of high osmolarity but perhaps not as significantly. The study didn't really measure how much destruction just that it had happened.

Ok, so is there a certain degree of cell breakdown and shedding that occurs naturally, where the lube causes it to happen to a higher degree, or is there normally no breakdown, but if you use the lube there then is breakdown? How much danger is there with this? After breakdown and shedding, does it rejuvenate itself, or is it damaged permanently? How dangerous is this? Should this be concerning, I guess is what I'm trying to get to.

I am interested in trying some Slippery Stuff liquid formula. Can someone who has used both the gel and liquid please comment on the 2 types. I am using the gel formula at the moment, and have found the gel is almost too thick and leaves dry areas on my Aneros when removed. My sessions have been longer (3-4 hours) and I am looking to buy some liquid formula to add to the gel to make it a little more viscous, hopefully coating the Aneros better during extended sessions.

Anyone used both the gel and liquid care to comment?
