I bought a MGX about a week ago and have been using it quite frequently, getting it in is easy though removing it is a little uncomfortable (is this normal?). I feels nice but I am having a lot of trouble restraining myself from grabbing my penis, it seems the 'normal' way of stimulating oneself is quite deep-set. Does anyone have any tips?
Sorry the main question is that my MGX seems to be a little rough in places, is this normal? its not like sandpaper but is not completely smooth either.

I'm sorry but I can't help you with the roughness of the MGX. Mine isn't perfectly smooth although I'd never thought of it as rough - I'd just assumed they were meant to be like that.

I've found that a wank is part of the fun. Sometimes I don't but normally I do finish with penile orgasm. I think the knowledge that I'm going to cum helps the excitement to build in my mind and helps me not to play with my dick until I do want to cum.
un4given,
Are you using any form of lubrication either on the device or inside your anus or rectum?
If not, that could be your problem.

Having used it this morning I noted that there are very small indentations in the surface. I doubt there are more than two or three per square centimetre and they are very small indentations and hard to notice. I wouldn't describe it as rough, just not perfectly smooth.

my understanding -- the surface texture of the MGX was chosen to enhance how lube adhered to the tool surface. some guys prefer a polished surface for the particular type of lube they are using. polishing may also simplify cleanup.
un4given,
As Rook said the finish of the MGX is more of matte vs. a polished finished. He's quite correct that this surface was original chosen as it was presumed that it was better for lube adherence. My question is, are we referring to the same thing here, is it the matte finish that you're having problems with or is there a burr /rough edge in the surface that made it through the manufacturing process. If this is the latter you should be able to address this with the manufacturer directly. It's something that should be brought to their attention anyway and chances are if you purchased it from their website, they'll send you a replacement.
If it is the natural, semi-smooth finish of the MGX that you're having a problem with, there are two things you can try. First, be certain to prelubricate with a small amount of a light liquid lube (Wet, ID Glide, Slippery Stuff) to start with. 5 ml/cc in a children's medicine dropper is all you need. After that, coat the MGX itself with copious amount of a thicker type lube such as KY jelly (I find the thicker jel varieties are better at smoothing things out).
If this still doesn't work for you, you can modify the unit itself using some 2000 grit sandpaper. Go to an auto supply store and find the sandpaper used for removing clear coat scratches. It will take you some time, but it's possible to produce a very smooth finish this way.

Cheers guys.
It is more of a burr/rough edge then the nice matt finish. Its not too bad and a little sanding and I think it will be fine.

un4given,
If that is the case, and you want to deal with this yourself, use a traditional fine sandpaper to start with to work down the edge and then finish with a super fine grade (500 grit). Assuming that you're staying with the original matte finish of the MGX, the 500 grit will be sufficient.

Hello un4given, 🙂
I've found that there unfortunately seems to be a rather high amount of variance in Aneros quality control. My MGX happens to be the smoothest model I have. More so than my black Progasm. And the Helix is the worst being rough all over and showing sanding marks across it width wise. And it is surprising, but I can notice the difference in the surface texture between my Helix and the MGX when inserted. Smooth is much better! It's been my experience though that customer support here at Aneros is top notch. So I'm sure they would be more than willing to replace a defective unit.
