Do I have to do special breathing exercises?
Also, can I just sit and do a light activity (e.g. on computer), one that doesn't requires much effort, while also being aware of the sensations caused by the aneros? It's not 100% focus, but I'm not ignoring it either. While doing so, I can sit in a relaxed and passive(r) state. I'm just wondering if such habits can eventually lead towards a Super O experience (some day... even if the day it happens is the day I do try to 100% focus and do breathing exercises).
somejoe,
Aneros use is practiced in a wide range of styles, there are no set protocols or "Requirements" for utilizing these wonderful little devices. As such, in answer to your question, NO, you do not HAVE to do special breathing exercises. However, many users, including myself, have found practicing deep valley breathing beneficial; if for no other reason than it aids in the relaxation process.
Since there are no formal "RULES" in this practice, you are free to employ any techniques you wish during your playtime with the Aneros. I consistently encourage guys to be adventurous and experiment with techniques which show promise of increased pleasure. That being said, over the years the anecdotal evidence of the effectiveness of certain techniques over others has been demonstrated. Those are the techniques many users then incorporate into their practice. My basic 'rule of thumb' is to let your pleasure response be your guide in leading your body to higher levels.
Hi somejoe & welcome,
Hope to someday blog all this but here's my list of things to consider:
I feel that orgasm is more of a brain thing rather than physical in nature; but, I'm not at all accomplished in Tao or tantra. I "feel" my mini-Os 'reflected' back to a chakra or body part that played the major role in stimulating my brain to orgasm. Additionally, a Super-O, while it may incorporate some mini-O elements moves onward to involve much of my entire central nervous system and the spiritual center of my brain. So:
a. Locate your DanTien and do some 'Male Deer' work to activate that chakra. (if you need help, see the Wiki or google for male deer exercise)
b. Do some self-assessment of your own personality and adopt communication and thought practices to reduce any tendency to 'rush to judgement' regardless of the situation.
c. Be accepting of anything that may come your way.
d. Crave and lust as long as it is not hurtful to another.
e. Assess your own spirituality and practice spiritual actions several times a day. If you are not into a broadly-scoped organized religion or well read in Eastern Religions, pick up a copy of 'Spirituality for Dummies' by Janis. Randomly, pick a page or two each day and undertake the appropriate activity. After a week or two, start reading the book, cover-to-cover, but continue with the random page activity as well.
f. Emphasize aerobic exercise in your general fitness program.
g. Learn to relax and once you've learned that, learn it again and, again. If a meditation CD helps, use it.
Thanks! I guess part of it is that I'm sometimes more relaxed when I'm not just laying down doing nothing.

Ahh! a telling quote, somejoe. Perhaps what you're saying here is that you consider the peacefulness and relaxation that comes from lying down "doing nothing" is doing nothing.
I quite disagree. As rumel is fond of saying, rewiring is the process of gently romancing your prostate with subtle stroking and gentle manipulation. As such, quiet, focused relaxation is key to the process working and rewiring beginning. Rook is absolutely correct, (great post, btw, rook) and his point "b" above is right on the money.
Aneros "success" is truly a journey of self awareness realization. Yes, some guys can pop one in and go ballistic, but in actuality, they're missing most of the true benefit of the toys. Zen teaches that most experiences that an individual can have are simply the realization of something that is already within you. Believing that (and there's no conflict here with any other religious or spiritual teachings) is key to understanding that what we're trying to realize with Aneros is the "art" (for lack of a better term and without all the confusion of Eastern-religious jargon) of multiple male orgasms. Zen would lead us to believe that all those orgasms are already within us, and be "released" by a combination of mental relaxation and physical capability.
The only "requirements" with Aneros usage are your own desire to achieve a new understanding of the meaning of male "orgasm" and the actual physical use of the Aneros. Many of us, btw, are able to achieve high levels of orgasmic enjoyment without the use of the Aneros once rewiring is established. You might enjoy the following post, http://www.aneros.com/forum/f5/penis-not-13035/#post77928 (Click on Penis,NOT! it's the link) as it may help you better understand what I'm saying here.
So, I would encourage you to develop both mental and physical relaxation. And while I suppose it's possible to achieve while sitting and doing other things, lying down, "doing nothing" as you say, may be the best way for a beginning Anerosian to begin to develop. Initial prostate "feedback" is generally subtle. And without being quiet within, it can sometimes be totally "missed" in the early going. Learn to listen to your body. It takes physical and mental peace to be able to hear it.
Good luck and success on your journey.
