Hello!

A friend I know want's to register, but he is getting a MySQL error over and over again. He has tried to register on other e-mailproviders, but he is getting the same problem, needless to say, he can't post here to describe what exact error he gets.

He has emailed Aneros about this, but he is not getting any replies.

Anyone knows what might be wrong?

I can ask for the specific error if this is needed.

Thanks!

Bungles,

I haven't a clue about the reason(s) for your friend's registration difficulty but here are my suggestions:

1.) You might try submitting this through the "FEEDBACK" tab on the left hand side of the page. While Support does periodically monitor the posts into the Forum, this current post might be missed.
2.) You or your friend may try contacting Support directly via the online "Contact Us" page of the website (registration is not required to use this method).
3.) You or your friend may try contacting Support directly via telephone - Monday-Friday, 9:30am- 5:30pm CST, 713-680-8840
4.) You or your friend may try contacting Support directly via fax - 713-680-8841
5.) You or your friend may try contacting Support via mail - Aneros P.O. Box 55554 Houston, TX 77255
6.) Perhaps you could have him give you an appropriate password and user name ('Bunglesfriend')? and you try establishing a registered name for him.

In any event, your friend can certainly have read access to the Forums, WIKI and Blogs without being a registered member.

If Rumel's advice doesn't help, perhaps you could both be Bungles for the moment?
(simultaneous login possibility?)

He lives in Europe as well, so the contact is rather uneasy. I tried setting up his account for him, but now I am also getting this same error he was talking about:

register Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet

I will send this forward to the feedback menu, and also contact Aneros.

I think he can wait lol, it's not urgent, but it's kind of annoying as he has been trying to register for a while now!

Hey Bungles, I can try and do it for him from here. You can PM me with his email and what id he wants to use. When he gets the confirmation email, he can change his password to whatever he wants. It is just a thought and I would be glad to give it a try.
