I've been curious about the Aneros for some time, and finally went and bought one today. As a beginner, I am obviously not that well versed with the device. I attempted 2 sessions today with the Aneros, and I'd love to get some feedback on what to do in the future. Here's how each attempt went:
1st Attempt: Easy insertion. Well lubed w/Astroglide*. Following the box's instructions, I spent about 15 relaxing and breathing deeply on my bed, while perched on my side. Then I slowly began the PC-muscle contractions...making sure they were slow as possible. 20 more minutes went by, and nothing much happened. I felt some stomach discomfort, and ended the session.
*this lube worked very well, but is there even better?
2nd Attempt: I did all the preparations and contractions, but laid belly-up with my knees bent (but feet planted). This time, I started to get sensations. First, I felt a pulsation most likely coming from the prostate itself. Then, while I was still belly-up with I started to jerk and convulse (though not painfully). The convulsions were quite intense in my lower (and eventually upper) body. I also noticed that if I changed body position, they'd stop, but come RIGHT BACK when I went to belly-up/knees-bent/feet-planted. The sensations were cool, and my cock went through waves of softening and hardening. When the sensations got a bit too much, I decided to stop and take a breather...
...which brings me here. Basically, it's probably safe to say I didn't orgasm. So, can anyone tell me if my experience is on the right track towards the "big O" or am I doing something wrong to keep me from getting higher pleasure out of it. I'm trying my best not to be impatient, and I want to do this more than once a day from now on. Do you guys have any extra advice for me?
Thanks
The convulsions are basically all there is to it. You aren't going to feel a sense of tension and release, or some kind of satisfaction like you get after traditional orgasm.
Yeah, I get the same convulsions, but then...nothing. My muscles force the aneros out to the "relaxed" position and the contractions stop. Try reading the "Contractions Help" thread. A common problem, one I'm still trying to overcome. Sorry, no good advice for you on this one...

Bought mine for medicinal purposes and it's sure done the trick, but the other tricks were the fringe benefits. Each is so different and that's part of the intrigue. I suspect not everyone reaches it but there is another level beyond this. It's happened seldom but normally with much mental stimulation (or wife's)prior. From where you are there's another build where ejaculation feels iminent but instead you go to this next level. Difficult to describe but it's a higher point, nearly a wimpering stage. The thing jumps around inside at will and takes hold of you to the point of exhaustion. Unbelievable!

Yes, I'd say you are on the right track. Occasionally, I have this experience too, but it mostly occurs if I'm tired or not really into it. It's almost as if a switch has been flicked in the brain that invokes the muscular contractions but not accompanied by the feeling of orgasm. It's odd as it's a great feeling, but not really the "bathed in bliss" feeling of the Super O.
I usually find this muscle tightening is the precursor to Super O's. I deal with it by not letting my body thrash around, but concentrate the energy produced back into the groin and stomach area. This starts to feed the "ball of buzzing light" feeling in your stomach, and then the pulsating waves start. I'd say at this point you're almost there - just relax into it, gently divert the energy to your groin and think of the hottest sexual thing you can think of and let your mind and body show you the rest!

In my experience, I do experience tension and release. It's just that the tension keeps coming back straight after the release with no long refractory period. You could stop after a release, but you're so sexually charged that you just want to keep going. Ejaculation seems to hit the off switch, or at least hit the brakes in the tension buildup.
Let's hear about the "best times" and how one gets there.
