I heard that silicone is better for anal. But I also read that silicone lubes are very hard to wash off your hands.
If you cannot get this stuff off your hands then what about your ass? I cannot imagine that it's healthy of you have
your rectum covered with silicone which doesn't come off anymore.
In cosmetics silicone is also known to clog the skin pores. This would also support my theory that it would clog the
rectum tissue as well.
Meh... Si oil is completely inert. I use it and I don't observe any issue with it staying around after I'm done. Nor do I have any clogged tissue symptoms... Whatever those may be. To me Si oil is better than water based because you body doesn't absorb it. I find the water based stuff gives me gas. I did just receive unrefined Shea butter yesterday. Can't wait to try it out.
Never had any problems with Silicone, but that's not to say I won't long term. Only drawback is it sticks around a long time until you purge yourself. A positive though is you don't have to worry about reapplying lube during a session.
"Better for anal" is entirely a matter of preference. I personally dislike silicone lube only because I don't enjoy having a greasy butthole when I'm done.
Silicone is very nearly ubiquitous in cosmetics. It is not known to clog pores or cause other skin problems. Examine your sources for that information with a more critical eye.
Your theory about its effects in the rectum is just speculation. The silicone component of a lube is one of the most inert things you'll ever put into your body.
It's safe to use. Ask your physician if you have doubts. Try it out if you're curious.
The lube I use has a big logo on the bottle that says "Doctor Recommended". Don't know which doctor it is, hopefully not Dr. Kevorkian 😉 but I assume they couldn't get away with false advertisement of that nature.
Similar experience as @Orgazmo.
Over the last four years I've occasionally used Silicone Oils, rather than my usual Shea Butter / Coconut Oil blend learn their effect with glass & steel toys. I may have been too generous but have usually found that, even with a high fiber intake it takes me two or three days to return to my 'normal' bowel movement rather than the 'slippery' BM's I experience from residual silicone.
During that two or thee days I'm hesitant to use Silicone toys for fear of damaging their surface.
@orgazmo - anybody with a PhD can call themselves a "Doctor" even if their PhD is in animal husbandry!
@rook, I'm a believer in regular bowel movements, completely emptying myself every day if possible. I took a stool softener and a herbal laxtive to ensure this. Can't help but thiink my frequent use of silicone lube also helps. Haven't noticed any problems with using it with aneros toys, stays slick for hours or all night!
I think @Euphemistic and I experience a similar canal 'slipperiness' when we have used silicone lubes. My mate likes silicone lube and it provides a 'next day slipperiness' when she and I have used it for sex.
My concern wasn't based on health considerations; just the potential damage to silicone toys from the film of residual silicone that seems to remain in the Anal canal, Rectum and post-menopausal Vagina for a couple of days. As a result, I avoid using silicone toys for several days after I've played with Silicone oils.
I only use silicon now. I need very little and lasts much longer than other lubes.
End your session the same way you start it, clean yourself out. 10 full medicine applicators full of warm water cleans nearly all of it out for me and only takes a couple minutes to do.
What happens if silicone gets on a silicone toy? I got silicione in a silicone cock ring.
Does it damage the surface? Do I have to throw the ring away now?
I didn't know that silicione lube damages silicione toys. This sucks.

It depends on the quality of silicone, but generally the silicone lube will dissolve and create a porous surface on the toy. This makes the toy extremely difficult to clean properly, creating an ideal ground for bacterial growth and other nasty stuff. It will also just generally degrade the toy over time. Ideally, a silicone toy should last for ages, given that it's not exposed silicone solvents, like silicone lube.
Thanks for the info. But why does silicone lube attack silicone? Isn't this paradoxical?
One piece of advice when using silicone lube. If you haven't used the bathroom since you used this lube, be very careful about passing gas because you will end up with a big spot on whatever you are wearing and people will be able to see it if you are in public.
@dunz there is a saying in chemistry- like dissolves like.
Water being very polar dissolves polar substances like salt. Gasoline being very non-polar does not dissolve things like salt but it is great for dissolving things like wax.
I guess same hold for Si lube and Si based toys.
why does silicone lube attack silicone? Isn't this paradoxical?
That's a reasonable question. I can't find a good answer.
But before investigating the effect, it's good to verify that the effect really exists. Beyond anecdotes, I find very little info on how silicone oils interact with silicone rubber.
I've known PVC-jacketed cables that have attacked and scarred rigid plastic when they're left in contact. The plasticizer that keeps the cable jacket flexible leached into the other material and softened it.
This is speculation based on the assumption that silicone lube can indeed attack silicone rubber toys: I imagine a similar interaction between silcone oil (lube) and silicone rubber (toy). Some property of the lube's polymer keeps it liquid, and that property would tend to liquifiy the toy it's left in contact with, though very slowly. The rubber would lose its structure and fall apart first.
Swapping carbon for silicon in our polymers, we find very similar dire warnings against using brake fluid as tire dressing, and a similar shortage of explanation or evidence.
If somebody knowledgeable about polymers reads this, please correct me.
I have no idea about the chemistry of Silicone, however to tell you a brief story, I placed a toy that had a silicone residue on it - on cheap multi function card table which had a stretched soft pvc/plastic cover on it. The toy was left there for a period of days (don't ask me why!), however when the toy was removed the silicone had effectively burnt/softened the pvc surface and left an indent in it. The indent still survives to this day. The toy however was thrown out. That was my experience
The first syringe I was using to push lube into my ass eventually stopped working thanks to the silicone lube I was using. I assume the gasket on it was eaten away to were it couldn't form a seal anymore. The gasket looked like it had shrunk. I went to get a medicine dropper, but of course walmart was sold out (my walmart is awful with inventory) and I had to buy a larger infants medicine syringe. It's probably only a matter of time before that one gets eaten up too.
