I am 19 and trying to achieve the almost mythical super-O. After a lot of research, I see that a lot of people that fail to reach to the super-O, or fail to feel the pleasant effects of the Aneros massager, are of a younger demographic. Conversely, most individuals that achieved the super-O are older gentlemen. Not always, but this is just what I've noticed.
So my question is, does the size of the prostate determine how effective the Aneros will be? We all know as we age, the prostate enlarges. Many people say there is a walnut bump, but for me, it's a really small spot, and hard to get just right.
Nope. The first mistake I made was assuming that just touching the prostate would be enough — like it was rubbing the penis.Super-O's are a result of being more attuned to your mind and body's own sensations and pleasures. This is basically why the Wiki and community exists in the first place, since getting Dry-O's isn't as simple as sticking the Aneros in. Not for everyone, at least.
The prostate gland is small and vague for me also (and typically disappears 'inwards' after a few minutes) but it's the sensations, arousal and excitement in general that I want. Muscle response tend to follow on from that, rather than the muscles themselves causing it.
If you don't feel anything at the moment, give it some months. It'll come.

I was introduced to the prostate orgasm over 20 years before I finally achieved one. The key for me was finding the Aneros Wiki and Chat room...and believing it was achievable! I was doubtful as well to some degree, but I later learned that it was entirely my perception and awareness of the stimulation that got in the way of my success!
Enjoy every twinge of good feelings as your prostate and surrounding muscles awaken to the stimulation. It's not mythical, it's just challenging for many men to comprehend what's being experienced! Patience and time are usually what's needed! About two months of nearly daily sessions is what helped me get my first amazing Super O! Now, over two years later, it's become one of the most natural parts of my daily life! You will get there too!

You are correct, as we age the prostate for most men enlarges. "I am told old to know everything" but I would say patience and perseverance over enlarged prostates is the reason us older gentlemen have greater success.

Is that true?
Im gonna disagree here. I think age has nothing to do with it. I think there are many factors that come into success with aneros devices but patience is the key and as we all know patience is a virtue that comes with age 😛
I used to doubt like you I even made similar post but now I don't think so, I'm 26 and healthy and I take spironolactone and finasteride for personal reasons, spiro is a full body anti-androgen and fin is used on BPH patients so I guess my prostate is smaller than a normal male and I'm getting pleasurable P-waves during sessions lately and I've only used aneros a handful of times.
I'm not able to make a direct, Aneros-based comparison between how sensitive my prostate was 45 years ago and now. Way back then my doc recorded my prostate as "normal in size" and texture. Now, with BPH, it's over twice normal size (about 50-60 grams) with no surface abnormalities.
My playtime sensory comparison is based on how a long strand of anal beads felt inside when I was 30-35 years old versus how a similar strand feels now. Subjectively, I think the feeling was more "hot" then than it is now. When I was young I'd break into involuntary contractions as the third or fourth bead was shoved in and experience a cycling anal canal spasm (much like what we now call an Anal mini-O).
A perhaps more objective comparison might be how my prostate sensed the inflatable barium enema nozzle when I was in my early 30s and later-on when I was 65. Pretty much the same on a scale of "pleasure to discomfort ratio"
After 6 years of prostate play with a variety of tools and toys I've probably learned where all the 'hot spots' are on my prostate and in my rectum and am more skilled in firing up my anal passions. It's like fighting an airplane. Skill and cunning can make up for declines in response time.
I think it's being older and able to avoid penis stimulation and focus on the internal prostate pleasure that helps older guys get the hang of this easier than the younger guys, not prostate size.

You are correct sir
