I'm not an expert @jack900607 but from my experience anal play and prostate play are two different things. I also had some anal experience but that had not awakened my prostate or at least not all the way. Although I think having that experience may have helped speed my path a little. I agree with you that the PI is a beautiful tool but it may not be the best to start out with. IMHO prostate awakening needs to be a little more subtle and you shouldn't expect it to happen right away. A key point to keep in mind is they call this a journey for a reason. Everyone is different so there is no true road map to success. You can take the tips and pointers offered to you by other members but don't expect them all to work for you.
Now with all that being said just try relaxing and don't try too hard to make something happen. It kind of has to happen on it's own. Avoid distractions and concentrate on any feelings you get. It may take some time but believe me it is totally worth it. Enjoy whatever feelings you get and build on it each session. It's an awakening and it takes time.
