Possibly a stupid question

So with my Aneros sessions, I've mainly contracted very slowly and held the models in place where most sensitive, usually resulting in a slight involuntary reaction and a nice constant p-wave level, only really moving a model around to find these spots if I lose them. However after reading the forums a bit more, I'm starting to think I originally misunderstood the normal practice and wonder if contracting and relaxing repeatily is important to the process?

Is it possible that for the last 2-3 months I've been going about things the wrong way? Should I be contracting and relaxing (to a base-level contaction) repeatily at my own pace rather than mainly holding a contraction at peak points? Unfortunatelly I cannot test this as I need another day or two to recover from my last session.

I'm going to be so embarassed if my assumption is right 😳

I am one who has written extensively about contracting and relaxing and returning to a base level contraction, and yes, I think it can be very productive. That said, if you are obtaining results from continuous contraction, there's nothing wrong with that either. I've just always felt that that approach was limited, particularly as it can lead to overstimulation. When you say "peak point" are your referring to high intensity contractions?

In any event, there's nothing wrong with checking out this other technique too. I also like the idea of doing this at your own pace and above all starting to move to a level where your contractions become more naturally responsive to the state of your arousal as opposed to some scheduled or rigorously applied method.

Have you been doing something wrong up until now? No, not at all. First, if you're having P-wave as a result of something...that's always a good thing. Besides, in the larger scheme of things I'm not sure that there is a wrong way to explore this (outside of doing something that causes pain or harm), any more than there is one true right way. In essence it's all part of your journey.

When you say "peak point" are your referring to high intensity contractions?

I basically mean that when I contract I am searching for areas that feel intensely pleasurable, then when I find them I've been trying to hold the model there to increase the pleasure felt. So basically my sessions are more holding contractions than actually moving contractions.

I always try to keep a base-level contraction, then usually move very slowly in my contractions while I search for those sensitive spots (little movement with no real rhythm), then hold and amplify. Which made me wonder if I'm being too slow and/or not enough actually movement of a model.

Edit: I'm not even sure what I experience is p-waves to be honest. It's kind of a constant high-level pleasure that doesn't seem to fluxuate that I can tell, unless I try to pin-point and hold on special spots. Haven't really had anything else happen in my sessions besides the constant level pleasure, some pleasure spikes that never seem to go anywhere, and once I had automated contractions that lasted 30-45 seconds.

Hi Ashlen,

What Mr. Mayfield said is certainly true, there is more than one way to get there. My personal experience is that anytime I tried to hold a contraction just the thought of holding it distracted me from the sensations that I may get. I seem to be one of the "do nothing" guys. I can wait for the sensations and then the movement is all on its own. If I do any contractions at all, it is only very slight.

You are still at the beginning of your journey and what you are experiencing seems quite natural to me. You are waking everything up.
