New helix owner. Have used it about 5 times with little to no results. My main issue is the perineum tab which seems to really dig in to the skin and is quite incomfortable. I think it's even detracting from the experience. I've tried shifting it a bit and adjusting my position but it doesn't help. Any suggestions? Can this tab be modified at all. I'd think a round ball shape mught be a better design. I'm hoping to get some enjoyment from this $75.00 item fairly soon.
Thanks
Hi majestic,
The discomfort you are reporting is a fairly common occurrence amongst new users. As you use your new toy more you will gradually become inured to those temporary sensations and will actually come to like the feelings of pressure exerted on the perineum area. My simple suggestion to you is just add a little padding between the P-tab and your skin via a piece of toilet tissue folded to 8 thicknesses. This is quick, cheap and easy to do and doesn’t require any modifications to your Aneros. There are many other modifications that have been proposed on this Forum and performing a search using the keyword “modifications” will lead you to many of them. You might also like to check out the Poll “Aneros Modifications” – http://aneros.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2322 for some other user’s modifications.
I did a thread - "Abutment Tab remedy if too "sharp"..." - that solved all my P-Tab problems with options to spare.

This "fix" basically creates a "ball" tab, without any physical modifications, to your Helix.
By the way, you may have noticed (but maybe not) that the Helix and Eupho have the MOST "forgiving" P tabs of all the models. The Progasm has ball tabs but due to it's shape and size, it is "gripped" by the rectum in such a way that those tabs can create quite a bit of pressure (esp. the rear tab) if gripped forcifully. The other models - SGX, Classic, MGX - haxe tabs that really get your attention. I found that they kind of "cut" or "pierced" the skin...felt "sharp"...but the modofocation above solved the problems. Just my opinion...
I hope this helpful...
Majestic,
I just wanted to add that it's a good idea to try some of the impermanent workarounds (such as the excellent method proposed by Virg) first. The reason is that although you may be experiencing some irritation on your perineum from full contact at this time....this may change later. In some instances users have come to desire greater stimulation there. I would have to say that although I was never downright irritated at any point, I was a little over-stimulated in that area in the early days. Now I can't get enough of it. Believe it or not I've actually modified several of my Aneros' so that the tab yields even greater stimulation (I've made the tip smaller!)

Hi majestic!
I agree with Brian about not permanently modifying the P-tab!
I take the rubber portion of a medicine dropper (purchased packs of 2 at the pharmacy) and slip it over the P-tab and it cushions the touch from the tab! (this works for Helix and Eupho size and shaped tabs) Just be sure to wash them thoroughly when you wash the Aneros!
I keep one handy, for when the pleasure turns to irritation and starts to distract from focus of the session!
Works for me!
