OT: Cytoscopy examination and lidocaine injection

Hi guys,

I have a buddy who has a cytoscopy examination coming up. He has had one previously with a lidocaine injection for a pain reliever when the cytoscope was inserted through his urethra into his bladder. Now he is concerned about meds and wonders if the cytoscopy can be performed painlessly without meds.

In summary: in my experience, this procedure is a nothing. Takes just a few minutes.
