I was excited to try this, for enjoyment and to deal with BPH. I used it for just a few minutes, very mildly exercised the PC muscle and noticed right away an unpleasant sensation at the prostate, a kind of achy soreness. Alarmed I removed it. The soreness persisted for a few hours.
Anyone have experience with this? I would be quite disappointed if I am not physically able to do this. Would it perhaps go away over time, trying it for short periods? I am 63, healthy, exercise, yoga, eat well.
Hi fauch.
My partner had BPH and is on medication that has seemed to alleviate a lot of the discomfort. I invested in 2 Progasm "ICE" One for me and one for him... We took our time and me being the skeptic wasn't really looking for anything other than seeing him enjoy some pleasure again. Immediately after insertion he began experiencing discomfort but not enough to stop... we relaxed.. talked a while.. and just gave it some time... Bottom line here... with time the soreness has gone away. He's having some amazing sessions now, as am I. Just make sure you are well lubed, relaxed, not pushed for time. The body is an amazing thing... so is the Aneros.. they both need to be treated with respect and care. I hope it all works out for you.
as for my partner. Yes, he's no longer having pain while urinating.. he's more responsive to pleasure and his Prostate issues have lessoned to the point he now looks forward to play time.
Thanks steve for your reply. You have encouraged me to continue, I think very slowly. In the meantime I will check in with a urologist. I am wondering if your partner experienced the same pain as I do. Its a kind of small muscle contraction with soreness, pulling up in the the prostate area. Glad to hear he is doing well. I resist taking the drugs for this. For me its frequent urination.
Hi fauch and welcome to the Forum.
I'm nearing a year of regular Aneros sessions. My Uro calls my prostate enlargement, "moderate;" and, estimates it's size at about 45gm, perhaps double the size when I was in my 20's.
Well lubed, I can enjoy the entire range of Aneros massagers from the SGX to the Progasm. And, when overly aggressive--way beyond the action that it takes for orgasm--I can "bruise my tonsils."
My sessions range from a relaxed calm (aimed at orgasm) to more vigorous for simple anal pleasure or prostate massage. I think the Aneros combined with medication is a great way to keep the G-U system working well while providing ecstasies that I've not had before.
There's plenty of bph experience in this forum and we're eager to help. Listen to your Uro and especially to your body. Go slowly and be gentle while you are gaining muscle.
Personal message will follow with my med routine.
I am trying this now without moving the MGX at all. Just lying there. Behind the soreness is a lot of sensation and by not pushing it I am able to get pleasure. Progress, happy with that. Need to keep session short. Love the "bruise the tonsils" Thanks
I suffered from moderate BPH since my mid 40s. After 7 months of steady Aneros use, I am off my BPH meds, not having any urinary urges and having a good time in the process. Just keep trying, and listen to your body. My MD shook his head and laughed but now he is a believer. I guess my biggest fear would be if I stopped using the Aneros and it would come back.
Dr. Balch's book suggests a couple of ounces of pumpkin seed each week-- also some magnesium. That and some saw palmetto seems to help me with the massage sessions.
(In response to bama) That's a great endorsement for using the Aneros for "treatment" of BPH. Glad to see there is an MD out there with a sense of humor.
