Hm, this might be a bit short term if you have figure it out now and from scratch. Do you own a douche? The usage is pretty straight forward: use it as often until the water comes out clean. Don't use cold water (may induce cramps) nor hot water (your rectum can't sense burnings). As a beginner, you should limit the amount of water to 200 ml (that's around a cup I guess). If you use more water at once it passes from your rectum into your colon. That's a bit un-handy because it will only come out when you are really relaxed or something is stimulating you from the inside. And the last thing you want during sex is a flush of that (prob. unclean) water on your sheets.

As for the food: you might restrict yourself to liquids (soup). Less solid food results in less bowel activity. Plus: after 24-48 hrs you should be completely empty (savest scenario).
