I'm a newby with a question. I'm in my mid 70s, married over 50 years, wonderful supporting wife, good blood pressure, no heart issues, healthy prostrate (I think, at least low and consistent PSA levels for what that is worth), healthy in all respects except I can't get it up. At all. That prevents me from ejaculating thus keeping the man juice in the prostrate too long (cancer concern) and accumulating too much (horny).

My wife can't have vaginal sex and doesn't want anal sex (neither do I) so doing something to give me an erection really is no benefit as a couple other than my wacking off. Which I wouldn't object to but isn't the main goal. I don't want to go the drug route even if that might help.

So I'm trying the Helix Syn with hope that I can just clear out the juice. I've had it only a week so far and didn't expect any relief this early. And haven't had any. The mind blowing orgasms talked about so much, while would be nice, but that's really not my goal. I've been trying the recommended position of one leg straight bent and hands off the dick. The question is, am I trying the right thing? Any suggestions? I'm not frustrated with the Helix Syn, just want some assurance that my plan is reasonable.

@LakeJerry - that is the same route I took. Give your body a little time to get used to t and learn from it. Kegles can help too - strong muscles seem to promote better blood flow... after I started a Kegle regimens my errections got much better (age 51, HelixSyn, HelixEupho, HiH 950, Peridise).

@LakeJerry You're in good company here at Aneros! Welcome! Of course, I'm no physician, but I can relate to your condition. I had a form of ED called Delayed Ejaculation (DE) where it was almost impossible for me to ejaculate the "normal way" with sex. Since beginning my Aneros journey I have dramatically improved my ejaculatory response. (I'm soon to be 67). Here are some other suggestions for you to peruse.

  • Continue your regular Aneros sessions. I would suggest investing in either the MGX or the SGX. Both have ribbed stems that stimulate the anal canal and can induce a nice erection during your sessions.
  • Try eating some fresh pomegranate (juice). This had a very positive "viagra-like" effect on my erections.
  • Consider the 21-Day No-Ejaculation Challenge (or as long as you are able). Search the forum for a link.
  • Consider wearing (like I do) a male "chastity cup" (a jockstrap with a hard cup) to bed and see what develops.

Are you experiencing good noctural erections? Your urologist can give you a simple "test" for you to take home. It basically is a visual cue that lets you know that you are having the erections overnight.

  • You can ask your urologist for a sample of cialis. I did and experienced the best sex of my life over a weekend! But due to a side-effect I had to discontinue use.

Good luck @LakeJerry !

72 yr old male.......i would suggest big glans 3 step kegel routine.......commit to this; keep focused and consistent and you will soon be leaking pre cum.
i started this regime 2 weeks ago and had instant gratification.i had been doing a haphazard k/r over many years so my pc and anal muscles are strong.
i was not aware i had the ability to take my body to a new dimension.
i found i could easily manage step 3 and with a sustained contraction, nipple play and abdominal breathing i was in a fantastic pleasure zone oozing pre cum.
i can do this with or without the aneros device inserted.

atb

Can't say enough about doing Kegels... I do three times a day for 10 minutes... I'm horrible at exercise... so I use an app (see mK "my Kegel" for the iOS)

  • it reminds me when it's time
  • It tells me when to hold and when to release (audible, vibrate and visual options)
  • I can set up custom repetitions

I understand about being wary of drugs. Try citrulline and acetyl-l-carnitine. Citrulline is an amino acid found in watermelon (especially the rind), and is relatively inexpensive buying in bulk online -- start with 3 grams per day in divided does. It mixes well with water or juice and tastes good. It is readily absorbed and sent to the kidneys which process it into arginine (an essential amino acid) which plays an important role your producing nitric oxide to relax blood vessels (super important for an erection -- and good for your heart too as long as you're not taken heart medications that make this redundant).

Acetyl-l-carnitine is the amino acid carnitine combined with acetic acid (as found in vinegar) for better absorption. It is importantly involved with the mechanism which restricts blood flow OUT of the penis.

Take these between meals to increase absorption. Make sure you get plenty of slow digesting protein. And take up to 50mg per day of zinc. Zinc helps to keep prostate fluid thin and it is an anti-bacterial agent in the prostate. And walk all you can to increase blood flow.

As for the Aneros, don't give up on it. Or, to get started, try starting with a small vibrator and just sit or lay on the bed. With gentle patience, sooner rather than later your prostate WILL expel the fluid, and it will be exciting and feel good. I sincerely believe men can get blockages in the ducts out of the prostate from various causes (blood clots from infections, calcium deposits, etc...), but once cleared out, enjoyable maintenance is the ticket.
