(this post was edited 2006-08-03 08:37:20)

I HAVE HAD MY ANEROS FOR SOME MONTHS NOW, 3 MODELS: MGX, HELIX, EUPHO - AND LOVE THEM ALL. I HAVE HAD SOME SPECTACULAR RESULTS, ALTHOUGH NOT YET THE "SUPER O" AS DESCRIBED. NO WORRIES - I AM PATIENT, AND THE JOURNEY IS QUITE NICE. HOW COOL IS IT TO "RE-WIRE" THE MALE BODY TO EXPERIENCE SUCH INTENSE, HEALTHY PLEASURE!
MY QUESTION IS THIS: IN READING THE FORUM I HAVE READ OF MANY MEMBERS THAT COAT THE ANEROS WITH VASELINE BEFORE COATING IT WITH "KY". IS THE UNDERCOATING OF VASELINE SAFE FOR INTERNAL/LONG TERM USE?
I HAVE PREVIOUSLY "PRE-LUBED" INTERNALLY WITH AT LEAST 4 OR MORE CCs OF "ASTROGLIDE" AND COATED THE ANEROS WITH COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF "KY JELLY".
I'M WONDERING IF THE VASELINE HELPS FACILITATE FREE MOVEMENT OF THE ANEROS.
THANK YOU FOR ANY INSIGHT.
L.T.

TO CLARIFY MY QUESTION: IS PETROLEUM JELLY ie. "VASELINE" SAFE FOR LONG TERM INTERNAL USE - AS EMPLOYED WITH THE ANEROS? THANK-YOU AGAIN
PEACE,
L.T.

The reason I ask this question here is that I am not really comfortable walking into a pharmacy and asking, "Hey, I've got this cool thingy I put in me and I was wondering..."
Even trench coat and sunglasses wouldn't do!

Thanks,
L.T.

Hi L.T.,

I'll jump in here. I use vasoline (generic) and then usually coat over that with what ever lubricant that I used. Right now, I am using Maximus that I got from cheaplubes.com. At any rate, I have been using at least vasoline for quite some time and have had no problems. There have been quite a few times where vasoline is the only lubricant that I used during a session and it worked pretty good. The clean up is a bit more cumbersome, but what the heck.

I hope that answers your question.

Have a great weekend.

Buster

Thank you so much Buster!
I want you to know that newbies like myself appreciate so very much your posts, and imput. I read the forum often and have benefited greatly from yours and others experiences.
By the way, I had a session with the Helix today - quite nice, with good movement (same lubes). I experience blissful waves that really make me feel better/healthier for hours after. I have NOT had the SUPER O as defined, but I think I've come pretty darn close! Really fulfilling waves of pleasure! Maybe the added undercoat of vaseline will help take me over the top. I'll post my experiences.
I am a long time professional jazz musician, and I am really looking forward to my gig tonight! I think the audience will unwittingly be recipients of some deep, peaceful music. I'll smile, eyes closed with a fun little secret. Only my wife, and fellow posters know for sure!
Here's to unlocking the gates to pleasures yet unknown... Thanks again for the response Buster.

Peace,
L.T.

It should be mentioned that Vaseline was the lubricant of choice for enemas, rectal thermometers etc. for infants for many decades up until the developement of water based lubrication. That said, there are some people who have a sensitivity to it (the same is the case for water based lubricants...). You'll just have to check it out for yourself to know. I'm one of those that have suggested using the Vaseline/water based mix with the Maximus. I've found water based lubrication alone sufficient for the other units. But as with so many things...this is a largely a personal preference. So check it out.

P.S. I'm delighted to hear that you see the Aneros affecting the depth of your musical expression! It seems unavoidable....that experiencing pleasure of this intensity, modifies the well of ones creativity. If this forum ever expands to allow uploading at some time in the future...perhaps you might favor us with some of your music.

Mr. Mayfield,

I thank you also for the information. My curiosity was centered around the time/duration that the sessions last with the vaseline. With the reassurances from Buster, and of course you, I look forward to further experimentation without distraction!

I must tell you, and other readers that my music has taken on more depth and energy since I have embarked on this journey. My lifetime work has been seasoned by keeping "Body, Mind, and Spirit" as balanced as possible, with life's natural ebbs and flows. Our sexuality is - of course - as important as food and air to this balance!

It has been a REVELATION, to stumble upon this website, and the subsequent purchases of my MGX, HELIX, AND EUPHO. I made my choices after reading your many EXTREMELY FORMATIVE posts! I initially was surfing the net looking for products/techniques/books,etc to keep a 51 year old prostate healthy. The ANEROS has been a GODSEND!

Not only does my prostate and surrounding area feel better, but I have had sexual release both solo and with my wife that I haven't had since in my 20s!

I own multiple guitars, for multiple "tones", and responses - and I suspect that as I purchase the Maximus to complete my collection (I'll pass on the SGX as I am 6'1") I will indeed achieve different tones and responses with the different units. This has already proven true with the ones I have!

I am grateful for all the information!
I had a GREAT gig last night and anticipate another tonight.

If you live in the USA, you may have heard my music on PBS - it has been used on a number of occasions.

Dear LT,

I had a smile on my face as I read your last post. You put into words beautifully how I have felt about this journey. Too bad it is not the type of experience that guys can share with one another. Can you imagine if some of our world leaders were able to experience some of what we experience? I would imagine that it would be difficult to make a decision to invade another country after you have had a rockin' session.

Imagine, world peace!

Buster

Dear Buster,

You took the words right out of my ***!!!

All kidding aside, there are now two definitions - or types of "ANAL RETENTIVE", aren't there?

"Old School", paranoid, hurt you before you hurt me, anal retentive, and
"New School", profuseley Generous Aneros users that are daily trying to help their brothers find health and pleasure! What's wrong with that???!!! Not a thing!

So with that in mind, I thank you Buster, B.F. Mayfield, and ALL you MEN that have shared your experiences, both good and difficult - in these Forums to HELP EACH OTHER in discovering the "ASTONISHING" potential of our bodies! "Bravo"! It is really quite rare to see this magnitude of unselfishness isn't it?

Keep the balance,
Peace,

L.T. fellow explorer...

There is a very good water based lubricant that is usually found in hospitals/doctors' offices. It is very similar to KY Jelly, but is much less expensive. It is called Surgilube. It costs less than $2.00 per 4.25 oz. tube, including shipping, if ordered in boxes of 12.

See the following web site:

In reply to the link for the Surgilube: Do you know if it contains glycerine? I didn't see any information on the site about the contents of the product, and I have a very unpleasurable reaction to glycerine.

I had the same problem when I was using the IdGlide that came with the aneros. I have heard that this was a reaction to the glycerine, which can have a laxetive effect. Funny thing is, the lube I use now, and have had great success also contains glycerine???

I have switched to a lube called "Probe." I use the "thick rich" kind. All the negative sensations I would get with IDGlide are gone. Maybe it had something to do with how watery ID was? Anyway, might be worth trying out since I had similar problems.

Cagliostro,

Regarding the laxative effect of glycerin based lubricants. Although this is purely anecdotal, it appears that the thinner, more watery type of lubricants (ID glide, WET, KY liquid) seem to be more likely to produce this effect. I base this on my own experience and the observation of numerous posts (over the last 4 years) on this subject.

So why is this? First it should be said that they are some individuals that are sensitive to glycerin while others are not.

For those who are sensitive, the key seems to have something to do with lubricant finding its way back/up into the colon. Simply stated the thicker jelly types have the tendency to stay put more than the liquid type which runs and flows everywhere.....yes...it's the runs that give you the runs... lol.

If one is sensitive to glycerin and you want to stay with these products, try switching to a thicker jelly type or at the very least consider limiting the amount of liquid lube that you use. My preference is to find something that I can use in copious amounts if necessary. Although I do have a problem with the liquid types myself...I'm able to use the jelly in fairly substantial amounts if necessary.

Hello! I'm a long time lurker, and long-time Aneros user (I have the very-first/original MGX model, and a recently purchases Helix.)

I just wanted to chime-in on the surgilube.

I have used the surgilube lube for a while now. I'm kind of lucky in that I have a relative who receives large quantities of this lubricant because of a medical condition. Large quantities as in, more than they could ever possibly use. Luckily, this relative lets me and my wife have tubes of it from time to time.

I can attest to it being somewhat like KY, but it is slightly thinner, and has a very mild lavender scent to it.

I took a look at the MSDS PDF sheet and thought it interesting that one of the ingrediants is listed as a known carcinogen. Now, that ingredient comprises less than 0.025% of the lube, so no real concerns, just an interesting bit of info.

This was exactly my observation as well. The thicker lubes tend to stay where they are needed instead of running all over the place. I also found that it is much more "slick" and the aneros moves easier. All around a better product for my needs.
