Greetings! This is my first post here and am hoping to find some direction and advice on a few things.

I've been using a Helix and Progasm for about a year and a half now. Not often at first, but now I can't go without them. I actually use the Progasm sparingly because it's so big it gets more uncomfortable than it's worth. The pressure from the Helix is usually enough. I sit cross-legged on the couch, which allows me more control over my pelvic muscles than other positions. After I used a heat gun to unwind the spiral on the Helix (and bend back the perineum thing, ouch!), it sits up against me and no extra pressure is put on it while sitting.

I must start by saying that Aneros has completely changed what I know - and thought I knew - about my body. Before I start poring through the mountain of info here, not knowing the lingo in most cases, I'd like to know what info is going to help me improve my autoerotic game.I can't imagine I've scaled the summit yet! Three main items:

1. For about a year now I've abandoned daily ejaculations. The first few months involved simply stopping before climaxing and only going all the way every 3-4 days, maybe up to 7 or 8 if I could hold out that long. However, that started to change the more I used the Helix. About six months ago I went for a month, and then close to another month, and since then it's been close to 2-3 times a month that I actually ejaculate semen.

Is this bad? They say it's good to "get the juices flowing" regularly for good prostate health, and the juices are definitely flowing regularly, lots of precum and some small amount of ejaculate that leaks out during peak activity. There are maybe 4-5 times a month that I use the retention method if I fall over the edge and am not ready to ejaculate, and haven't felt nor observed any ill effects. I've found that I do lose a lot of sex drive if I lose my ejaculate (and can take days to recoup), so retaining it is very important. Ever since I've gone this route, my sexual energy has dramatically improved, and every day I'm hornier than ever!

2. I keep seeing so much about using your kegels regularly, and until a few months ago I did use kegels during masturbation just like I always had, but since I went a month without an orgasm (only edging), I learned a lot about how to control the various muscles involved in building up to an orgasm and am now able to get so close to an orgasm that I believe I am experiencing all of the effects of an orgasm, just not the final involuntary contraction.

If I do it right, I don't feel much different after going over the edge, other than a nice feeling in the muscles themselves (kegels?) that are contracting in my pelvis. That instantly pleasurable, body-wide rush you normally get when you go over the edge is not present, I've already achieved (and maintained) that level of intensity well before I had the orgasm.

The key to allowing me to get this close, closer than any other way I've ever known, seems to be completely relaxing the kegels, contrary to what I keep hearing. I've gone so long without contracting the kegels that it actually takes a bit of effort to contract them during a session, but as soon as I do, and it's a pace in sync with what my body wants to contract them at (about once a second), I can't handle it because it simply wants to bring me to a point of stimulation that I'd get way too close to going over the edge, or accidentally "leaking." This is why I feel like I'm "cheating the system" when I masturbate in this non-kegel fashion, I'm sort of going past what should be experienced without going over the edge, yet I am.

Once relaxed and stimulated enough, and focused enough, I can slowly get to a point where the penis gets super big and hard like it normally does right before you orgasm, and I can delicately ride that wave ever so slowly higher until my heart begins to pound out of my chest and I'm filled with the same exact level of body-wide pleasure that I would get during an orgasm, just without the ejaculatory orgasm. Sometimes I can get it to last minutes at a time, but usually it's so exhausting that I can only go for a minute or less before I have to stop and compose myself. A couple of times I was so stimulated that my limbs were in full tingle, and I was about to pass out, likely from hyperventilation combined with the hyperstimulation.

This has been my mode for the last few months and it has been the best few months of my autoerotic career. Each time is earth shattering, I experience the same level of pleasure of an orgasm without actually having one. Full shudders/trembling, accelerated breathing, full-body tingling and shaking. I can get so close that I do sometimes let that final muscle relax and semen starts to leak out, even though I haven't gone over the edge and triggered ejaculation.

That is probably the best non-orgasm orgasm I can have, but I do lose that semen that is collected up and "pushed to the front of the line" during this so it's not usually worth the extra pleasure it provides because I'm already feeling the basic full effects of orgasm. This last "safeguard" muscle is probably the most pleasurable muscle in the body, so allowing it to relax and contract is very rewarding, but takes so much practice and concentration it's not always a guarantee you can make it last.

Is there a term for what I'm doing here? I can't imagine this is the normal mode for many people, since it does take a lot of concentration and practice to do this right.

3. Why does having an orgasm without losing any semen still pull down your sex drive, seemingly moreso than a woman's orgasm would prevent her next one from being as good? Does it come down to the semen retention technique? If nothing manages to come out during orgasm, and nothing is found later in urine, is there any reason to think that this could be a point of variation in recovery time? I use both hands and firmly cover a broad area far back, allowing for nothing more than some slight twitching in there.

Alternatively, I've had many cases where I've come so close to the edge that I allowed the final muscle to open up and leak semen without orgasm, and that also killed my sex drive. It's uncertain if this is worse for my sex drive than a semenless orgasm. The act of having an orgasm seems to reset something in the brain, perhaps a hormonal release, because I do notice a day or two of diminished sex drive after an orgasm - even if only very minor - whether or not I let semen come out.

It's very difficult for me to describe this stuff with the terms "ejaculation" and "orgasm" because they are so interwoven, so I do apologize for any confusion. And I'm sure I repeated myself somewhere here so if I did I apologize for that too. Thanks for any help!

Eric

Hello, Caution.

Thanks for your very interesting post. Seems like you're getting a lot out of your Aneros and have found a type of Super-O.

As for your questions, I'm afraid I can't answer any of them. First of all, I'm no expert and I've only been in this game for 7 months. But the main reason I can't answer is that you have applied moral values like "good" and "bad" to things that really can't be measured that way. If I were to substitute "healthy" and "unhealthy" for those words, your questions start to make sense. Even then, nothing you said indicated that you are not feeling well, so there doesn't appear to be a problem here.

Your preference for not ejaculating and desiring for a constant state of sexual tension or horniness are personal choices only you can evaluate. I'm sure there are guys here who can provide some tips and tricks for how to be hornier more often.

Best Regards,

Dave

Caution,

Welcome to the wonderful world of MMO's. From what you have described you are indeed experiencing multiple orgasms but I don't think you are into the Super-O zone yet. There is a frequent confusion about what exactly constitutes an orgasm. Most of the men on this Forum have come to the understanding that orgasms and ejaculations are separate events. The general public may still think they (orgasm leading into ejaculation) are equivalent and thus use the terms interchangeably, but a distinction needs to be made.

You and numerous other men (including myself) have found their Aneros practice has led them into a path of decreased ejaculatory masturbation episodes but not total abstinence from sexual relations. Semen retention, in Taoist philosophy, is the preferred path for men and has often been touted here as a way to maintain heightened sexual energy and arousal (an essential component to obtaining Super-O's). You may wish to read the article What is the Ejaculation Frequency for Optimum Men's Health and Longevity? for further insight into this topic, here is a thread which also discusses this topic : http://www.aneros.com/forum/f5/how-do-you-know-when-time-ejaculate-12575/ .

Kegel exercises are named for Dr. Arnold Kegel.

The aim of Kegel exercises is to improve muscle tone by strengthening the pubococcygeus muscles of the pelvic floor.

However, those are not the only muscles involved with Aneros use, see the Pelvic Floor muscles section in the Aneros WIKI for information about the other significant muscle groups involved.

I beileve you are experiencing dry orgasms here but only because you have retained such muscular control over your PC muscles that no semen can escape, you're edging with an Aneros. Remember, just because you are not ejaculating doesn't mean you aren't orgasming. The fact when you relax your PC muscles you experience some semen leakage indicates to me that had you not been clenching those muscles tight, you probably would have experienced a (wet)HFO. If this is the case, then it is natural to enter a refractory period after such an emission. The fact it was not a forceful ejaculation is immaterial, this is somewhat akin to a "ruined orgasm".

Yes, this is a perfect description for the refractory period onset.

It seems pretty evident to me you are skilled at bringing yourself to a high level of excitement with your Aneros through manipulation of your PC muscles. This is definitely to your advantage but now can you ratchet down the amount of control your mind has been exerting to allow your body to lead you up onto the next plateau of pleasure? If obtaining (wet)HFO's is your goal, you are already there, if your goal is something more (Super-O's?) then I think you have to let some of the other muscle groups share in the play time and allow your body (not your brain) to direct the action. Note: Your orgasms may also be felt in other parts of your body, not necessarily centered on your penis or groin area.
