Hi Everyone!

I have enjoyed reading these forums for a couple months, as I have worked through some ideas and techniques about how to approach all of this.

I have primarily been using the Helix Trident, for a few reasons... it is the one (than the MGX) that is recommended for new users, and it is the one that so far produces the most sensation in a manageable way. I also have the Eupho Trident and the Progasm Ice. I started with the Eupho, and I get some sensation with it, but I have to hold a contraction in a position that is uncomfortable long term for it to produce the same feelings as the Helix. I then ordered a Helix and Progasm, since I was assured with my experiences with the Eupho that this was a real thing for me, and I wanted to get any thoughts of difficulties being tied to the model I chose out of the way early. I like the Progasm a lot as well, but I find I would describe it the way most here would... it provides constant pressure, but it doesn't move very much with actions. I have a feeling I will enjoy the Eupho and the Prograsm more over time, as I learn through the Helix model I currently feel best with. I am maybe 20-30 sessions in over the course of 2 months.

So in terms of where I am now...

I have read through the beginning faqs and wikis 3-4 times each to really internalize the content. I have read through a lot of the techniques that work for others. My feeling is that I now have to learn what the process feels like at every step, and tie this theory into experience.

Generally what I do, after I am all prepped and ready, is to lie down on my back, knees in the air, feet shoulder width apart, a bunched up pillow below my lower back. I clench into a few contractions for 5 minutes, sometimes fast, sometimes slowly. I relax deeply, breath deeply, and I feel myself sort of sink into my breath. I keep attention at my nether regions, feeling the point of contact, which starts with a somewhat pleasureable feeling. I concentrate on the feeling, and I tell myself it feels good, and that I am turned on. I am holding about a 1/3 strength anal contraction, and a weaker PC muscle contraction at this point, and try to maintain it at about this level. Telling myself I am enjoying it really does seem to deepen the actual enjoyment, and I feel a gradual build up of feeling to what I would call decisively pleasurable. It clearly feels good to continue holding the contraction.

A number of things happen from this point:

-Sometimes I can get a racing heart, that feels like it is "leading" someplace.

-Sometimes I feel a little rhythmic shudder in my breathing, that I think is my diaphragm twittering. It feels like my diaphragm is doing small micro contractions, at a rhythm of 8-12 per inhalation and then 8-12 on exhalation

-I feel my abdominal muscles tensing up sharply. This has a couple different interpretations. Sometimes it seems to happen involuntarily. Other times it feels like I am doing it semi-consciously... like I am gradually adding an abdominal contraction in response to the kegel pleasure, in a subconscious effort to intensify the feeling gradually.

-I can either relax my abs (at which point they immediately feel like they want to tense up again), or I can let them continue doing their thing, which has a certain conclusion: they begin quivering and shaking, and the shaking intensifies and travels through my whole body. I could see how this could be semi-pleasureable if it accompanied another kind of feeling, but when it happens, it tends to just take over on its own, and drown everything else out. I can't focus, and just feel like I am shaken senseless and not enjoying it. It doesn't feel like an orgasm. It feels like a muscle was held so intensely that it quivered in exhaustion, it it doesn't at all feel erotic, and I could do it with my arm or leg just as easily at any time.

-I sometimes get this little "teasing feeling" in my urethra maybe... a very strange and enjoyable sensation, albeit small, that seems to suggest something larger is coming. When it happens, it sort of grabs my full attention, and I can sometimes feel the start of something that feels like it is building, but it dies off after about 8 seconds on its own, and doesn't return. I get it maybe 20% of all sessions. It feels like the "entrance", but it never seems to lead anywhere yet. My heartrate sometimes elevates and I get the chest pounding anticipation. If I don't have the abdominal tensing, I get it then for sure. Maybe I am too excited to reach the entrance, or not excited enough. I don't think I have enough experience to know. I have tried a couple approaches when it has visited. I have tried being static, and just maintaining what contractions I had in that moment, and "watching" the feeling, to see if it grew. I have also tried gently intensifying the contraction to lightly encourage it to grow. I have heard others say many times you can't force this, and it sort of has to "happen on its own" gradually... I guess I am just learning what that feels like maybe?

-I can often just lay in the tepid feeling of "this feels good, I am turned on", but it lasts in that state for a whole hour with no progressions. It is a tiny bit of work doing the mental maintainance work of telling myself it feels good, and holding the contractions, and dealing with the slight amount of labor the abdominal tensing puts on my breathing, so I am generally tired out after 2 hours and done. Most sessions last 40-80 minutes, and this feels about right. I get the feeling if nothing has happened yet, it probably won't today.

--------------------

At this point, it feels like I am just about there, but I don't know how to cross the threshold yet. I am mostly enjoying the experiences of being immersed in low-level pleasure, and that makes every session worth it, but I also feel like I ocassionaly meet a dragon in the darkness there, and I would like to see more of him.

I am not sure what to feel about the abdominal tensing. Should I let it happen? Should I encourage it? Should I try to relax when it happens? It seems to terminate any thread I am on with a very lackluster conclusion. I wouldn't mind if it visited while something else big was happening, but by itself it is a real buzz kill.

I have a feeling I should be totally relaxing my abs, despite my body's drive to tense them in that moment?

I feel like it could take me a week, or two years from this point to reach the next steps, based mainly on how I approach it all mentally. There are maybe a couple things I have to work out to get the full equation in motion I think.

Excellent, you are to be commended for performing due diligence in acquiring the basic knowledge to progress efficiently.

I am maybe 20-30 sessions in over the course of 2 months.

That's nearly a session every other day, it seems to me you may be pushing just a bit too hard to make progress, almost like you're trying to follow a programmed schedule, this won't work. I am wondering if you are really sufficiently aroused to to step through the prostate orgasm doorway. Being aroused is an essential component in this journey (see Are you "aroused"?). How you go about getting aroused can vary widely from man to man but many men find cutting down the frequency of their traditional ejaculations can greatly help. I'm sure you've read many of the posts by men who practice semen retention as part of their Aneros journey protocol (please see Aneros, Arousal & Abstinence). Perhaps this is something you should consider as well.

Other times it feels like I am doing it semi-consciously... like I am gradually adding an abdominal contraction in response to the kegel pleasure, in a subconscious effort to intensify the feeling gradually.

I think this is a holdover from traditional masturbation techniques wherein we learn to tense our various muscle groups to hasten along the orgasmic/ejaculation response. This tensing is not helpful when it comes to inducing prostate based orgasms and is something we need to unlearn or in other words learn to relax (please see @darwin's post relax, relax, RELAX)

YES, it does take some time to get to know your own body's reaction to the various techniques users employ to reach their orgasmic states. Your experimentation with these differing techniques will eventually lead you to the pleasure you seek, keep experimenting, you are on the adventure of a lifetime, let it unfold for you by being the patient observer.

At this point, it feels like I am just about there, but I don't know how to cross the threshold yet. I am mostly enjoying the experiences of being immersed in low-level pleasure, and that makes every session worth it, but I also feel like I occasionally meet a dragon in the darkness there, and I would like to see more of him.

The Super-O dragon is a stealthy beast, stalking you in every Anerosession and you never know when it will pounce, continue your explorations, be patient and the dragon will envelop you and you will envelop the dragon.

I think your intuition is spot on! You might find helpful @rook 's post in A Question about Breathing for some tips and information links. You can also read Deep Belly Breathing and Relaxing (a file I downloaded many years ago authored by Temple University Professor R. Hicks, unfortunately no longer available online). Good Vibes to You !

Yeah... My first 3 sessions with the Eupho were pretty good... comparable to what I have now even (my interpretation of the experiences of others seems to be that things could be MUCH better, but it already has started from a pleasant baseline). I reasoned that building arousal would likely help the process. Normally my typical routine is some kind of sexual contact or self-stimulation to ejaculation every 2-3 days or so, so I reasoned if I stopped self-stim and ejaculation almost completely, it would build arrousal. My practice since then has been one emission every 10-12 days. It has helped somewhat. After 2 days, there is moderately heightened arrousal, but it doesn't really deepen past that. It could be that regular aneros sessions are somehow dampening libido on their own, and I should stop the frequent sessions and move to once a week...

Yeah I began to suspect that! Thanks for confirming this for me! Will definitely check out that post.

Yeah all of this is even more like a trance mediation than I had suspected it was. I am still working out what degree of conscious participation to use to encourage things along. Looks like the answer is not much at all... let the thing unfold on its own without touching it...

------------------

Thanks for the detailed response, Rummel! It is nice to speak with you directly after studying the forums for these months! I did read through the introductory message! I will work through some of these other threads, and think about how to internalize it all for my next sessions.

I tried this sort of routine and if doing this regularly, it's a grind without a payoff and I feel it is counterproductive and inevitably brings frustration. Lying to yourself that it feels good when it doesn't won't work, you can't lie to your subconscious! I'd suggest the "do nothing" method as I'm starting to get super pleasurable feelings approaching near orgasm, tons of cowper glands fluid being secreted, and it is no serious effort in fact it's relaxing after a hard day. This is something you have to let happen, not make it happen. Whether you succeed depends on pleasurable sessions that have occurred previously, and it's about how horny and turned on you are at the time. You also need to relax and zone out, this is why so many people relate their greatest success after smoking pot. But this zoned out state of mind can be achieved without that as I've done it more than once. I think the tricky contradiction is that you need to relax, but also realized that as you get really pleasurable sensations, your body will tense up. You need to fight convulsions and continue to relax, but once you hit the point of no return lots of tense and involuntary things are going to happen. If you try to breathe and calm down at that point you will kill what you have built in my experience.

@RubberCaltrop Maybe it's just me but most of my sessions now (starting while greatly aroused) are of the "do-nothing" variety and only last perhaps 25-30 minutes. I may be averaging a session every other day (4 per week). I don't analyze my technique; I just do what I feel. That seems to work for me.

Yeah I am not sure one way or the other. I am open to trying a lot of things atm, to get a feel for what works and what doesn't.

The way that technique normally works for me... I feel the contact point of the Helix inside, and it feels ok. I suggest to myself... yeah, that really does feel good if you think about it, right? And it is sort of a fib, but also it actually DOES feel better when I tell myself that. I can do it a few times and it seems to build each time, to where it feels pretty good at a sustained period, and if I lose it, I just remind myself again that it really does feel good, and then it does. I figure if the majority of this is mental, if I can plant the seed that I am deeply aroused by it, I can be deeply aroused by it, and then things can move to the next level.

Which isn't to say that you are wrong, and I definitely do try other methods, and will in the future.

The thing with the "do nothing" technique, is that I am convinced there are like 8 different versions of what it means, hehe. I have heard people interpret it all sorts of different ways... for some people, they say that, and they mean: Think about the prostate contact point, and don't do ANYTHING else but breath and feel. Other people mean... hold a light contraction, and hold it the same no matter what happens. Still others seem to mean, hold a light contraction, and if it feels good, let the contraction deepen a bit.

Which interpretation do you take?

I like the concept, and it feels like something I could have success with potentially, but the shorthand term doesn't seem to suffice now to describe what people are personally thinking of when they say it, hehe.

Yeah, the term 'do nothing' does get bandied about and is rather broad, A few years ago I posted the thread "Do Nothing" What does that mean? as an effort to better define the technique. It is still rather broad and difficult to pin down too specifically but I think this is as it should be, just as the definition for a Super-O needs to be broad to accommodate the varied individual responses.

You really do have these threads indexed like Bible Verses, ready to fire out! 😀

Thanks for linking that discussion, another helpful one. I think I have a bit of mental trouble with the total "do nothing" method... if I don't start with at least a weak base contraction, I don't seem to feel much of anything... and I get the impression that won't change over the course of hours, but maybe I just have to wait longer...

I had success with traditional style edging and glans rubbing, then after I was feeling good, putting in the aneros and doing nothing. And then in subsequent sessions that success seemed to build on itself. So, it's something to try!

@handsfree59 I am actually trying to avoid manual contact... I am in a sort of weird state (due to SR meant to help the Aneros practice), where my body would really like to ejaculate (and probably can in 20 seconds or less), but somehow I am only moderately aroused. It could be that I am accustomed to suppressing mental arousal due to the need to focus and get work done, and it has just carried on to the rest of my time. If I did any sort of manual stim, I would probably get "tricked" and carried away pretty fast, hehe.
