I am almost 2 years into using Aneros. I like it, but have had no Super O, but have had some darn nice sensations a lot of the time. Everyone keeps saying just relax, you need to be relaxed.

Well, I can't relax, my mind wanders and after about an hour at most I get fidgety and restless. I have tied the Hypneros files and other relaxation files and have on occasion been able to slip in between awake and sleeps for about an hour.

It has been established that I am a person who can not be hypnotized. Three different therapists have tried and they all failed and gave up. I also have regular and frequent sex with my wife so it is rare that I build up for 3 days or more. But that doesn't mean that I am not horny sooner.

Anyway, I have about 3 to 5 Aneros sessions a week when she is working late and sometimes on Saturday afternoons, most of the time they feel quite nice and I can have involuntary contractions, things can build to feeling quite nice and then just drop off to nothing.

I have been at this long enough not to have "expectations." But I sometimes wonder how I can make myself relax to the point many people here describe. My mind almost never stops working on something.

After two years, I would assume you have tried all kinds of things to relax. I have not reached the SuperO either, however, I have made great progress lately when going to sleep with my Helix Classic in. I know others would not recommend going to sleep with it in, but I am hoping to build up some muscle memory at the same time. What happens to me is that I get the usual involuntaries when I lay down with it in, but them doze off to sleep. Some time within that first few hours of sleep I am awaken by more involuntaries. So I calmly and quietly think erotic thoughts and add slight pelvic tilts. Well, this turns very quickly into wonderful dry orgasms that go for 2 to 3 times as long as normal ones. And then they subside, but I feel they are still there, so I let my body relax for a few minutes. Then with my mind and very slight pelvic tilts, I can start them back up again. It's really amazing! I did this several nights now to the tune of well over an hour of orgasming. It's crazy. But it can wear you out. You will not get a good night sleep, so it is wise not to do this more than once a week.
I hope others have some suggestions for you and wish you continued success on your journey!

Relaxation is a state of being. If one is not relaxed in other aspects and areas of one's life, then one is not going be relaxed during an Aneros session. The wandering mind finds no peace.

@ReWire I have slept with mine in too and get some action down there but hardly any worthwhile sleep. I made the decision that while it can feel good, it is not worth the loss of sleep.

@Pspotsquirter I have an actrive mind, it is always solving problems, not bad problems, most of the time productive problems, creative things.

You should control your mind and not let the mind control you; through meditation you can achieve this.

The silent mind and the still mind yield CONSISTENT SUPER Os. True mediation elimanates the need for any external stimuli. Only the MIND is needed. The balanced being is free of dud sessions.

Why then cannot your active mind solve your inability to Super O? The active mind and the Aneros do not a good couple make! The forum and the chat are rife with evidence of this. The passive mind garners the Fruits of Life, as well as the Joys of the Aneros. Change your mind and you will Super O. Don't think, just be.

I've had a few sessions ruined by a particular type of relaxation, where I suddenly realise I'd been day-dreaming about random shit for the past 20 minutes, forgot I was having an aneros session at all, and had been feeling nothing during that time.
That kind of relaxation, for me, was about relaxing my body and not interfering with the physical aspect of what was going on. But I think I was too detached from my body, to the point of not being present in the moment. You can't let your mind drift away to distraction like that, you need something to keep it tethered to the moment. What keeps me anchored these days is a constant background level of pleasure in a session, but I didn't always have that, so I found it useful to have something to do. Concentrating on a sensation, a type of contraction/tension, or nipple stimulation. Something that you don't have to put a lot of thought into, but is just enough to keep you focused and present. And if it feels right to let your mind drift, you can let it go at the right time and let the momentum carry you.
I think there's a type of relaxed state that you need to practice getting to. I don't think it's the same relaxing as going to sleep, or trying to imagine what it'd feel like to be dead, there's something different about it... you're not trying to ignore your body, or blank your brain. More, you become your body, and the mind is just chilling out and enjoying what's happening.

The Blank Mind does not drift. The Blank Mind is entrenched fully in the Now. The Blank Mind does not require external stimuli to reign in the Now Here.
