Well - tried it a number of times and was blown away ....by disappointment and a sense of a waste of moeny. It was actually quite uncomfortable and pokey, not particualry sexy and rather expensive. (Helix)

I usually can't wait to get it back out again. And yes I am using it according to instructions.

A large waste of money and frankly just a bit weird. Prepare to be underwhelmed and disappointed.

This doesn't work - don't believe the hype - give it a miss.....

Pleasure and orgasms come in many different forms. Your body and mind are just not ready or wired to experience pleasure and orgasm most likely because of your years of one and done penial stimulated ejaculations.

It can take some time to wire your body and mind to experience this orgasmic pleasure in alternative ways other than straight sex or jerking off.

Give your body and mind some time to adjust and sooner or later you'll be experiencing orgasmic pleasure far beyond what you thought possible. Orgasms that wash over you over and over lasting as long as you'd like.

Or give up now and spend the rest of your life having one and done less than 10 second orgasms/ejaculations.

The choice is yours.

Hi DJ,

Welcome to the Forum,

You may have read multiple happy reviews at websites other than this one as inducements to purchase the product, this is typical marketing hype and logically you know not ALL purchasers will achieve the same degree of results.

You have logged onto a pretty unique Forum established by a manufacturer who believes so firmly in the value and quality of its products that they permit users to post their negative comments as well as their positive comments. If you would take some time to read through a few pages of these users comments you will see the real truth about usage emerge. The support people at Aneros are very tolerant of users who have not experienced sensations which approximate their expectations. I think this is possibly due to the fact many users, who experience limited initial success, actually do achieve marked successful experience later by going through the learning process we call “rewiring”.

If you were expecting to achieve a Super-O the very first time you used the massager, you should understand for some users the learning curve can be steep and take a long time to develop one’s techniques sufficiently to achieve Super-O's. I invite you to look at the users Poll
HOW LONG BEFORE YOU FIRST SUPER-O?

Nearly one-quarter of these men have taken longer than one year to achieve a Super-O but patience and persistence can pay off.

The first time I tried the Aneros, I too felt very little in the way of sensations. I think this is because prior to my Aneros usage almost all sexual stimulation was directed toward and emanated from penile centered sensations. Effective use of the Aneros requires a paradigm shift away from penis based pleasure/stimulation patterns. Some men will find this difficult, some may find it impossible, some find it relatively easy to transition into this mode of thinking. Attitude will greatly effect your success here. You need to open you mind to new experiential possibilities, be adventuresome and experiment. This all needs to be done without expectation of immediate success and with a gentle resolve to allow the learning process to evolve unforced and unfettered with thoughts of what “should be happening”.

When you said “It was actually quite uncomfortable and pokey,” was there pain involved?, Did you use plenty of lubrication? Did you try to get very relaxed? What is your thinking behind the “...frankly just a bit weird.” comment? I detect some unspoken issues here that could be creating blockages to your enjoyment of these massagers.

It is obvious from your post you are frustrated and a bit angered from feeling you were conned into this purchase, for this I can offer no relief. My suggestion to you is put your MGX away for a month, read all you can here on the Forum and especially read the WIKI. Then, after a month, try out your MGX again, with no expectations but now well fortified with valuable information. I suspect that next session will yield some different results. That’s my opinion anyway, I hope it helps.

I don't know how long i've been on my journey, stopped at one point and then picked it up again.
I'm not achieved waves of orgasm yet but did experience some brief moments of what is out there.
My last purchase, the eupho did help in getting more results.
I'm progressing very slow but each session is getting better and better.
I've now come to a point when i insert it i get instant reaction,it's like the eupho is tickling my prostate, also a pulsating in my prostate and when i try to relax i feel the eupho is being pulled in on its own,i've not experienced involutaries contractions, maybe some minor movement on its own.
All this feelings i get with just relaxing,i don't contract or use pc muscles or anything else.
The most pleasure i get is when i exhale and hold that for a while,at that moment my prostate is pulsating the hardest and i've get these feeling something is building up but then goes away.

So you see i'm also one of those people who has not get the pleasure of experience the ultimate,it's taken me a long time where i'm now but i'm not giving up on this.
I'm progressing with babysteps and its a fun journey, what i feel now is already amazing so i can't begin to think what the feeling would be to get those waves over your body for a long period of time.
Maybe i must do contractions and work those muscles but i'm just trying to relax and for now that's taking up all of my attention because i'm having trouble relaxing my asshole, maybe thats the reason i don't get involuntaries.

The journey continues....

Its seems to be a complete dud. All it does is hurt and make me want to take a crap. I though prostrate stimulation would be a bit more pleasurable, but unfortunately not. Maybe the Helix is just too big.

I think the site should explain that in its sales talk - that you are likely to get no where for a long time if ever. If I'd known it was going to be this way I would not have spent 80 dollars on this.

He strike me as a troll or very uninformed. If you're not cleaned out, lubed and relaxed, I guess it would hurt. Try some weed. 😆

You know guys...
Even though DJ has not had a pleasant and/or successful experience, and his experiences go contrary to the majority here in the forum. It doesn't mean he should be treated with disrespect or mistrust of what he says.

Here's my thoughts about your experience DJ. I didn't get any pleasurable sensations with my Helix(which was my first Aneros also) for the first year of infrequent use. Much like yourself, it hurt and/or was uncomfortable after insertion. It wasn't until I learned to consciously relax my anal muscles to the point where I hardly noticed it in me that I started to experience pleasurable sensations. When you reach that point, assuming you have moved your bowels somewhat recently prior to a Aneros session, you should also no longer feel like you need to take a crap. It will also help if you practice on a regular basis, such as every other day. If you only do it once in a while, it can be slow and difficult to learn and hold onto learned experiences. This is a process of learning something that for a lot of men is completely foreign, taboo, and entirely new.

I certainly can understand where you are coming from. I pretty much felt the same way for the first year of usage myself. And keep in mind, that I have yet to achieve super orgasms after 2 and 3/4 years of use. But I do experience very pleasurable sensations. So I know that there is something to this. I'm one of the many "grinders" here slowly working my way towards super orgasms. And I encourage you to keep trying with an open mind, not make any expectations of results, relax yourself as much as possible, take deep breathes, and practice it regularly.

Also feel free to ask any questions here in the forum. This is a friendly and helpful community that is more than willing help and discuss matters of Aneros and sexual topics.

May your journey be eye opening, enlightening, and pleasurable.

Hello ArticWolves, 🙂

Apology accepted. 🙂 I'm not upset at all. I'm just wanting to keep this wonderful forum a good and friendly place for people to communicate with each other.

I guess we must see this situation differently. My interpretation was that he had tried it a few more times since the first post and still was not getting any pleasurable sensations. So he just posted his experience which just happened to be similar to the first one. I prefer to see that there are not any malicious intentions on DJ's part. Just frustration that it's not working for him. So I didn't feel negatively reactive to his posts.

Hopefully DJ will allow himself to continue to practice with his Helix to eventually know it is not a hoax.

Helix didn't do much for me either...MGX, Progasm and especially the Peridise....and yeah getting yourself fucked up with marijuana will definitely drastically improve your sessions....I was disappointed by the Helix as well. The reason I ordered that model was coz everyone recommended it. But I guess everyone's got a different build so I guess there's no objective choise which one is best....go for the MGX or the Peridise and progress to the Progasm and keep your Helix as a substitute in your arsenal

Guys,

I too am a little suspicious of threads with content like this. The initial post is more of a warning, presumably to prospective buyers? There is absolutely no inquiry going on here, like, what am I doing wrong? No request for any assistance whatsoever.

His second post completely ignores all those that have so thoughtfully responded to his first, preferring to deliver yet another denunciation. I can understand how some have questioned his motivations here. Perhaps the thread author is just someone at the end of his rope with the device. But the way that this is presented is a little odd nonetheless.

Yeah, it is as you said in your post, tried it a bit more. I have had lots of advice - so thanks guys.

But to be honest there isn't much I can do about re-educating my body to respond anally rather than through the penis, and didn't really expect to have to do that. It sounds like a long process, and a massive shift and I'm a bit unsure I even want to do that. What else does that change?

I guess this is more for guys who have already been quite eroticized around anal penetration, gay men for example. I didn't think it was initially, but it hasn't done anything for me, beyond being marginally pleasurable for about fifteen - twenty minutes before it (usually) either becomes too physically uncomfortable, or I just get bored.

Nearly ready to give up now. But it has made me realise what it must be like for a woman who complains that it isn't doing anything for them and hurts....

I do think the size is relevant. I'm only 5' 8 and I reckon if it wasn't so damned big and large (and pokey) it might be more pleasurable. But I don't think I want to spend any more cash experimenting on this one now.

I think that's probably an unfair assessment that everyone who uses the aneros is somehow homosexually oriented. My experience is that this has nothing to do with orientation, and more to do with learning about the various pleasure centers of the body.

DJ you said that feels "marginally pleasurable" for about 15-20 minutes before it starts to hurt...have you tried more lube? different kinds of lube? If what you are using is drying out too quick, the "poking" feeling could well be from that.

My first sessions were...well, not painful, but not comfortable, either. One, I have a big problem with relaxing (actually, using the aneros has sort of helped with this...forcing myself to "let go"), and two, I was not using a lube that worked for me. All lubes are not created equal, and some things work better for some guys than others.

For the record, I have not experienced some paradigm shift, even after I started being able to have super-Os from using the aneros. The only major changes that I see are that 1) I feel like I "know myself" a little better and 2) I am actually capable of relaxation (which is great, considering how tightly I am usually wound). My sexual orientation, fantasies, and thoughts are pretty much exactly what they were before.

I would encourage you not to give up because of some initial hurdles, or out of some insecurities. But if you do, hey, that's your free choice, man. But, coming on here and claiming that it's "a complete dud" and just a lot of hype is really unfair, it seems to me; there are lots of guys here--and yes, lots of heterosexual guys--who it does seem to work for. So I guess I'm saying, the argument from common experience disagrees with some of the things you're claiming.

Best of luck to you, DJ, whatever you end up doing with your aneros.

Hello DJ, 🙂

Thank you for stopping in again here and posting.

But to be honest there isn't much I can do about re-educating my body to respond anally rather than through the penis, and didn't really expect to have to do that. It sounds like a long process, and a massive shift and I'm a bit unsure I even want to do that. What else does that change?

There is always ways of re-educating your body and mind. But you do have to be willing and open to do so. The length of the process of re-wiring depends on the individual. Your question implies to me that you suspect Aneros usage may make you gay. If this is what you are implying, I can assure you from my own experience as a straight man that it does not. As far as other changes, I find myself better able to relax in life and often find myself calmer, I can experience pleasure now in different ways and in added locations on my body than I previously did, I have a keener sense of my body and it's sensations, I understand and accept that anal play does not equal homosexuality but is just another avenue of pleasure that does not define who we are, I openly share this play with my girlfriends(when I have one 😛 ). And that's only my experiences. Other users here who have reached the heights of super orgasms probably have a whole bunch of other positive things to add to the list of what changes. I personally have not found any negative changes that have occurred to me since I seriously started using Aneros prostate massager's.

It is not, but it certainly can be helpful if you have prior anal play experience. I am a straight man that had no prior anal play experience. I think what toobadsochad mentioned about lube issues might very well be a possibility, assuming the discomfort is not from you being unable to relax your anus muscles.

I do think the size is relevant. I'm only 5' 8 and I reckon if it wasn't so damned big and large (and pokey) it might be more pleasurable. But I don't think I want to spend any more cash experimenting on this one now.

Once again, in my experience this has not been the case. I'm an inch shorter than you, and I'm able to comfortably use the Progasm, which is one of the two larger models. You don't need to spend any more cash on a different model Aneros. As long as you are willing and open minded enough to continue to practice with what you have, you can make progress.

In some senses, I pick up from your responses that you've given up already. And have ruled it out as a possible source of pleasure. While I respect your right to do what you want in your life regarding the Aneros. I would suggest that keeping a more open mind is very helpful towards achieving pleasure from these devices. As there is very much a mental aspect to this practice that has to be learned. We create and manifest in our lives what we believe.

Thanks guys. I could try more lube or different I guess.

I didn't mean that it would change my sexual orientation as such, so much as re-educate my body in ways that I imagine come easier to gay men. I thought that prostrate massage could be as pleasurable for hetrosexual men; I reckon it can, but just hasn't been yet with this.

Thanks for the words anyway...we'll see.

I think you are reading too much into it. It's odd yes but I wouldn't go as far as calling it suspicious.

Maybe I'm being unfair blaming the toy here. I got my wife to do an prostrate massage, and it din't do much for me either.

Maybe I'm just not wired for this.

Oh well.....

Damn it, sorry to hear that. 🙁

There have been several forum members who've gotten sensation out of the Aneros massagers after an unpromising start, and personally I feel that the first step is the trickiest one: once you know you've gotten some sensation - any sensation - out of the Aneros, it's easier to get the ball rolling.

I'll second that! My first year and 3/4 of infrequent use was much like that. But once I started to get just a glimpse of pleasurable sensation, then things started to take off so to speak as it is much easier to motivate regular practice when it actually makes you feel good.
