It looks like it might be it. Normally it's a little more yellow if the picture is accurate. This is the type I use.

@longshanks then that is the stuff I shall buy. Although, I am leary of having a greasy, lubed up butt for the following day. My imagination says that stuff will ooze out of me for 24 hours.

I've developed this neat method of using it too. I've refined it after reading many suggestions on this forum.
1) Melt the butter in a tall narrow container. You can also choose to add in coconut oil (which is lighter).
2.) Get some large drinking straws. Insert the straw(s) into the melted butter. Place your finger over the end of the straw and lift out of liquid. Hold finger tight against straw end.
3.) Place liquid filled straw into glass of ice water for a few minutes till it firms up.
4.) Place straw(s) into refrigerator or freezer till it gets hard.
5.) Remove chilled straws and squeeze out into a zip lock bag. Cut into 1/2 inch pieces and leave in freezer.

Don't use too much and you won't get any oozing. The 1/2 inch slugs make great suppositories. They only take a minute or so to melt.
This really is simple. It's not as time consuming as it sounds.

Is the bullet shape really necessary? Why can't I jam a fistful up there?

I kid

How many 1/2" pieces do you typically use per session?

All these fancy ways to lube up. I just rub it all over the tool and smear a bit around my arse. No problems.

@bunk give the elaborate lubing a try. Just maybe there is something to it.

@jmchemist, I use One 1/2 inch piece. I also lube up the Anero's lightly with olive oil.
@rewire, I've never encountered any grit at all but I've read of others experiencing that.
@bunk, yeah, that works but I find it messy. The little bullets are clean and fast.
@jmchemist, I used to use small rolled up balls but the butter starts to melt as soon as you touch it. Having it frozen gives you some handling time before it begins melting.

Not sure why but I feel odd about putting food stuff up my bum. Almost like it will cause extra bacteria to grow that normally wouldn't

I think it's probably better than things you can't eat. LOL. I wouldn't suggest spicy foods!

I am a long-term user of UNREFINED shea butter, which I have been using almost since the start of my Aneros journey back in 2009.

First up - shea butter is NOT a foodstuff. If you try to eat it, I'm sure you would become sick! It is actually mostly used as an ingredient of cosmetics, chiefly skin creams. So long as you ensure that the product you buy is certified as unrefined, it should do no harm when inserted into the anus/rectum.

I nearly always insert a plug of about 1.5 to 2 ml chilled or frozen shea butter before inserting my chosen tool for a session. For those with concerns about leakage or mess, rest assured, it won't leak. As to any mess, it is important to remember that shea butter is NOT oily or greasy and is easily cleaned up using soap and water.

Iv'e had a look at the illustrations of the samples listed at Amazon.com and vitacost.com and of the three, the one that comes closest to the one I use is that posted by @JMchemist. I have never seen this product packaged in a jar and both of those seem darker in colour that what I am used to. Unless the vitacost one is in a dark brown glass jar, I'd be a bit wary of that one. I'd be interest to hear from @Longshanks about your version if you use it on its own.

BTW, I have never mixed shea butter with any oil-type lubricant and find the presence of oils (olive, coconut, almond, walnut etc) does lead to some greasiness and staining.

The way I use it, melt some in a little cup and then inject it with a lube shooter. Soooo much easier then this straw business. I will caution you to check the temperature before injecting. Too hot and it can burn. I also use this brand http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007B6RR98/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Used it for about a year, not gritty at all even though it says raw.

@Pommie, Wikipedia says it is used to prepare food in Africa and at times, in the production of chocolate. That said, I wouldn't eat it!
Most often I use it on its own. But I know others have used it as a mixture in their own recipes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shea_butter
@Ineverknew, when I use the straw method, I make up enough bullets for months! When I want to have a session, I grab a bullet out of the freezer and away I go! Easy Peasy!
No mess, No clean up.
You can get a handful of straws, put them in the liquid, then plug the ends with clay, take the straws out put them in ice water for a few minutes and you'll have lots of bullets. I keep mine in a zip lock bag in the freezer. I haven't tried this clay method yet, but if it works, I'm be able to make enough for many months in just a few minutes.
yes, the syringe method works well too. I just feel that heating, filling a syringe, inserting and clean up is more than the one-time investment to make a batch.
Whatever Lubes Your Butt! Have fun!

@JMChemist, Yeah, I hear ya! That's another good reason for keeping in the freezer. I was using Silicone for a while but I grew uncomfortable with that. I don't have as good a reason other than it's just not natural.

Chemist opinion- silicone is essentially inert chemically. It does not react with biological systems. It is not absorbed and if it did it wouldnt interact with your cells.

As far as being natural- there are loads of natural things that will kill you dead in a heartbeat. Many plants are extremely poisonous and animals that are not healthy to eat... all natural. Hell, a volcano is natural and I wouldn't recommend breathing the fumes coming out of it.

It got on my chemist soapbox- sorry

I'm having quite a bit of success with this stuff: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=30612

It's oil based, though, so don't use it with latex toys. Or just don't use latex toys in general

On second thought, after googling the key ingredient, I am now terrified and should probably get rid of the stuff. https://www.google.no/search?q=Petrolatum&oq=Petrolatum&aqs=chrome..69i57.621j0j1&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=91&ie=UTF-8#q=petrolatum+toxicity&revid=1254951806

It is basically vasoline made during the refinement of crude oil. I've have personally seen rail cars of this stuff.

It really isn't a big deal. The molecules are essentially the same as other natural sources of oil.

Cooked meat is stocked full of Polycyclic aromatics. No worries when you eat a steak tgen no worries on vasoline.

Hopefully I don't sidetrack this discussion too far, but what was the issue with silicone breast implants?

RE- Natural- I guess I'll cancel my order for the poison ivy skin moisturizer!

Breast implants supposedly caused a skin disease where the elasticity went away. Sufferers appear fairly horrific.

That whole thing was debunked some time ago

A mix of Shea butter, coconut oil, a little wax and water melted then whipped while cooling makes a great lube/body lotion. Goes on devices like room temperature butter. I can leave it in a jar on bathroom counter as a skin lotion. My wife had me make holiday gifts out of the lotion. If her coworkers and family only knew they got some of my butt lube!

This can be supplemented with frozen straw plugs if desired but a healty coating of the lotion works fine.

I haven't used anything except Water Based, but I see a lot of suggestions for Shea butter so I wanted to put my two cents in here.

As far as the whole straw, cut idea... Why not slightly warm your butter in a pouring pot. Not super hot, not microwave, just enough to make it more liquid form and then pour them into things like this?

Bullet Shaped and rounded

Or maybe this...

Cylinder Shaped

There are also reusable adult suppository molds, but I personally think the bullet is by far the best shape for introduction 🙂
