is squeezing the pc muscles to prevent ejaculation safe?

There are some who apply pressure to the perineum to physically prevent ejaculation, which i assume leads to retrograde ejaculation. I was curious if squeezing the pc muscle instead of manually applying pressure is just as unhealthy? will it still lead to retrograde ejaculation.

I believe i have enough pc strength to do this but haven't tried because it doesn't seem safe. .

legace,

I'm not a doctor so I can't speak with medical authority but I believe using ones own PC muscles to control/prevent ejaculation is perfectly healthy and safe. However, from what I've read, I do believe the practice of applying external pressure to the penis or perineum (via fingers, ligatures or other devices) to prevent ejaculation during orgasms has potential inherent dangers and should be avoided. I don't believe that retrograde ejaculation (were it to occur from muscular control) would be harmful as this is a type of a pressure relief mechanism employed by the body to ensure prostate damage itself is avoided. From what I've read this type of occasional retrograde ejaculation is normal and does not cause any permanent harm or ongoing problems.

Taoist and Tantric practices teach disciples exactly this technique to avoid ejaculation thus preserving ones "Qi" (Chi) energy.

I know we have a few members who are practicing medical professionals, hopefully they will also respond to this post with their knowledge.
Good Vibes to You !

thank you Rumel.

Another point i was curious about, is this actually a dry orgasm? To me it's not b/c the act of ejaculating has taken place, it just doesn't come out....right away.

unless... you squeeze so hard that you impede the body from using the muscles required to "pump" the semen out, then maybe i would consider that dry.

If you have a refractory period, which you WILL have with a retrograde ejaculation (although mine are of shorter duration and not as deep as a refractory period with a conventional ejaculation) then it is not a dry orgasm. In my experience, going over the point of no return is the thing that splits a dry orgasm from a wet one (normal or retrograde). If you try and suppress the ejaculation it doesn't matter, since you have still gone over the point of no return.

PC-muscle contractions, are a not infallible way of avoiding going over the point of no return. These are generally more gentle, and I cannot conceive of them doing you any harm. People who edge for hours of even days do this as a matter of course, and the build up of sexual energy as a result, is dramatic and intense. If you go over the point of no return, and THEN clamp your PC muscles, the PC muscle contractions will need to be stronger, but you won't avoid the refractory period.

For me there isn't much point in trying to suppress a wet orgasm once it has started. Better to enhance it, let it out and enjoy it. I do employ retrograde ejaculations (fingers on the perineum) when I go over the the point of no return by accident (not very often), when I am building my sexual energy, but when I decide to have a wet orgasm, I make the best of it! Breathe deeply, and let your body do its best.

I imagine improved PC muscle strength can help hold back the PONR but I've never really heard of anyone being able to force retrograde ejaculation with PC muscle strength alone. When you squeeze on your perineum you are simply forcing your ejaculate during the ejaculation process to go backward into the bladder and there are a number of medical scenarios where the same phenomenon occurs, but I am not sure why anyone would want to intentionally do this as ejaculation has nonetheless occurred and you'd still go through the post-traditional-ejaculation refractory period.

From a medical perspective, I would imagine that if someone did this a time or two no permanent harm would result but I wouldn't think doing it regularly is good.

Chia's "The Multi-Orgasmic Man" suggests that a retrograde ejaculation conserves sexual energy. My own experience in the very few times I have done it, is that the refractory period is not as deep and not as long lasting, and so I have some reason to believe them. I only employ retrograde ejaculation when I am not expecting to cum, and am concentrating on building up my sexual energy. "Accidents" happen - lol.

On a related matter, I have noticed that cum volume has decreased quite a bit in the last 4 years or so, but experimenting with the aneros and anerosless techniques has convinced me that I have been having partial retrograde ejaculations quite naturally, and unbeknownst to me. Life is full of surprises.
