I should have done it when I first got it. I now have good feeling because of it. I have no fear when I sit down anymore because the handle pushes it the wrong way and it would hurt. I now feel the p waves everyone talks about. Thanks for that pointer everyone. I now love my toy after at least 200 trys!!!!!
i dont know why the company still make them with a handle. the p-tab makes for a good handle
forgeman,
I think the Aneros was designed with a curly handle for two reasons: It prevents guys from sitting on it, which tends to limit use while driving a car. And, the handle is useful for partner sex, because it's easy to reach.
Cheers,
Dave
Also, often quoted advice when choosing anal toys is to "pick one with a T shape design so it can't be swallowed". That doesn't actually seem to be a problem with a handle-less Helix, but it might be enough to put off some potential newcomers if the Helix (or any Aneros) came without a handle or K-tab.
I too prefer my Helix "sans handle".
To each is own !!!
It helped me get some good strong p waves the first time I used without the handle somthing I never had got before.
So their!!!! Lol
It changed me back to loving my helix and look forward to the big "O".
I quite agree ssw1.
I too removed the handle from my Helix.
Finally Helix delivers sensation.
Wish I had done that a long time ago.
It is a superior animal now.
Im new to this only had my helix for a month I was thinking about doing the same thing one day to mine, i think im gona take my time and enjoy my current sensations before I alter it. It clearly has benifits with positions as I lie on my back with a pillow under my butt is quite comfortable but with out the tail i could just lie on my bed. I have heard a few people tho saying when the tail is removed it causes the p-tab to slide out of place a lot more.
In my humble opinion, the handle when between the butt cheeks, alignes the p-tab in the center of the perineum making it easier to stim the p-spot exrernally. If you are a bit more exprerienced it may matter less, in any case, enjoy yourself.
can someone post a pic as to how far you cut the p-tab off......or did you cut it all the way down and then sand it to make the area cut smooth?
i'm just curious.....i was thinking about doing this to my MGX just to see if it makes a huge difference
wisdom,
You may wish to take a look at the user Poll How much handle/tail did you cut off? (PICS), note we are talking about cutting the handle off, NOT the P-Tab (abutment) arm.
This photo is of my more radically modified, tailless Helix, I reshaped the lower stem to allow movement more like the MGX model. Note significant modifications as shown in this photo DO ALTER the behavior/response of the massager. You may or may not like the resultant action once such permanent modifications have been made, so think about it before undertaking such mods. I liked the result in this case but every individual will react differently.
This photo is of my tailless MGX model. This simple mod allows use in almost any physical position, including sitting (use good cushioning though).
I have had my helix for almost almost 6 months and have been seriously considering taking off the tail for a while. I feel it just gets in the way (having to repeatedly adjust myself so as to get enough elevation to prevent the tail from making contact with the bed), plus my tail seems to be not perfectly symmetrical; it veers a bit off to one side which I don't like (and possibly contributes to the p-tab sliding off-center?). Hopefully I can do this the right way in the near future, but I hope what Rocketman said about the p-tab sliding more when the tail is removed isn't too drastic, I feel it slides more than i'd like as it is (my butt cheeks aren't substantial enough to actually touch the tail though to keep it in place lol). I do really love how the tempo has absolutely nothing that can interfere with the environment and I may lie flat on my bed, rather than dealing with the hassle of propping myself up when I use the helix or maximus. It allows my body more movement to be free when I dont have to worry about collision and external force being applied.

Im new to this just making comments from another thread dont worry to much, the vetrans know if it makes a real difference. Yeah i see you point i do it in a lie flat on bed postion as well with a pillow underneath my ass atm and yeah it is a small worry that the tail will just touch the bed and it will stop stuff.
I've been having trouble making my Aneros work and I suspected the handle was pushing the shaft back away from my prostate and all I was getting was perineum action. After reading this I cut the handle off and sanded the end smooth -- I noticed a difference immediately. I can tell I am finally going to make this thing work. Thanks!
I've had my Helix for a while now and I'm becoming annoyed with the handle getting in the way sometimes. I'm scared to cut it off though!
You don't have to cut the whole thing off. I've left about an inch (correction: half an inch) of handle on mine, which is still short enough to not get in the way.
Cut it off!! It's the only way to fly!
It would appear that removing the handle will change the "angle of attack" against my prostate. I think I will try it with my mgx first. I have only used it 2x in the three years I have had it. It is the least effective one I have from the whole collection. If that works I will do the same on mr Helix.
I am thinking of this too with my little sgx, who knows what will become of my progasm!
Works great with my SGX. It has become a fav riding tool for Chat. P-E-N-E-T-R-A-T-I-O-N without excess bulk!
I really get the point! 😀
Oh, yeah Friday is here again.
