Hi gang! I purchased the SGX model, as it was made for shorter people supposedly. I'm only 5 foot 6. Anyway, I'm currently on Flo-max for BPH. Flowmax technically relaxes the prostate, so it doesn't pinch off the urethra for urine flow. What I'm wondering, is because the medication relaxes the prostate, will that hinder my chances of "waking up" my prostate? Would I never have a chance of achieving that super "O"?

Also, it appears so many have moved on to other models, is the SGX model not enough to reach a super "O"?

Thanks guys!

61 views and no one has any knowledge of this? Just wondering if meds that relax the prostate would hinder ever reaching a super "O". Anyone?

@Haas...I would give it a try and see what happens...maybe the relaxing aspect of the Rx will help with relaxation during your sessions...I don't have any experience with Flomax. I'm 65 and have signs of BPH but thus far have not needed Flomax. My guess is that you will respond normally to ANEROS.

What I'm wondering, is because the medication relaxes the prostate, will that hinder my chances of "waking up" my prostate?I've been a member here for the past 8 years, having read nearly every thread posted in that period and do not recall any posts indicating "Flowmax" as a help or hindrance to the "awakening" process or one's 'rewiring' process.Would I never have a chance of achieving that super "O"?Given the above knowledge, you have every chance of achieving the Super-O state. It is important to note orgasms are very much a mental creation, often initiated by physical stimulation but not entirely dependent on physical stimulation. Aneros devices have been appropriately termed "Tantric training wheels" as aides to learning the mental path to orgasmic pleasures. Some veteran members have become so well accomplished in their learning they are able to enjoy Super-O's without using an Aneros device at all. Also, it appears so many have moved on to other models, is the SGX model not enough to reach a super "O"?IMHO, while each Aneros model does provide a slightly different sensory experience, they are all capable of amplifying your arousal to orgasmic levels. Even the smallest Peridise models are capable of this. I think many members purchase additional models out of curiosity to test out these minor performance differences and to find a model which suits them best. I own each of the models myself and still find my first model (MGX) one of my favorites and as effective now as it was initially. Even the smaller SGX I have can provide teasing pleasure leading to orgasms, it just doesn't provide quite the same amount of pressure to my prostate as my MGX does.
Good Vibes to You !

Awesome replies, thanks to both of you. I'm glad to hear that no one has mentioned flo max, or any other prostate med as being a hindrance. Thanks much for the replies!!

Oh, believe me, I already have been. But my biggest obstacle right now seems to be finding enough time to relax myself, as I know this is important.

With regard to alfa blockers. Of the four I've been on (Hytrin, Cardura, Flomax and Uroxatral), I could detect no significant differences in Prostate sensitivity. However, Hytrin lacks a time release effect so I can take a small dose of it several hours before I plan an orgasmic session and suffer less danger of a low blood pressure event during orgasm, then going unconscious. Regular use of Aneros or HIH tools result in me being able to cut my alfa-blocker dose by 50% of what it was before I started regular prostate massage.

Getting off of Flomax eliminated a pesky problem with Retrograde Ejaculation that was annoying to both me and my wife. I also think that ejaculation via the prostate instead of into the bladder is better for the Super-T following a BPH therapy session with a large prostate toy.

I use my SGX during sex and find it's an easier ride with a large prostate when repositioning or thrusting. I think though that a Helix might be a better bet as it's shaped to adjust to a larger prostate. You may find that the base of it hangs out an extra 1/4" after it adjusts to your large prostate and shorter anal canal.

Forgive me, but what is a "super-T"?

@Haas I was prescribed Flomax for enlarged prostate (symptom: up in the night frequently to urinate) and after two days immediately discontinued it. The side effects were the worst I've ever had with any med: insensitive numb work-ups to ejaculation and then completely dry and numb "climaxes" ( I say "climaxes" because there was no ejaculation. Not a drop). I googled the drug and found that these and other negative side effects are common. I later took saw palmetto with some success. I recently discontinued it after several years, but my urination issues are minimal now. I am new to prostate massage, but I think that it is also helpful for BPH. My recommendation to anyone is to run, don't walk, to the nearest wastebasket, and deposit your Flomax therein. It's bad news.

Spinx,
I too had dry ejaculations. I spoke to my doctor about it, and she said it's not really a problem physically. She also said in time that side effect would more than likely go away. I stuck with it, and the problem of dry ejaculation did go away.
Other than that, no real side effects to speak of from flo max. I think it's probably different for each person.
