Hypnagogia is a wonderful state between consciousness and sleep, where lucid dreaming and many other phenomena occur. It is possible to learn to access this liminal consciousness/dream state at will. I have used this for years to get to sleep reliably despite chronic pain and chronic high stress levels in my life.
For those interested, there is an excellent book, Hypnagogia by Andreas Mavromatis.
I find that during my aneros or aneros/KSMO sessions that I relax so well that I easily drift into hypnagogia. There have been threads here about dreams and Nikki's hypnofantasy.
I wonder if others ever get to hypnagogia during their sessions?
Does anyone get there during the aneros day after effects?
Hey artform, I've been doing dream work for about a decade now and have become very proficient in lucid dreaming,OBE'ing, meditation as well as many other aspects of awareness. I somehow stumbled across the aneros website and was in awe of the idea that I/men can achieve multiple-O's and super-O's and ended up buying the aneros awhile back. I'm learning how to use what I already know how to do which is to use MBA (mobile body awareness) (focusing on any specific body part and feeling only it and feeling the energy that's there as well as moving this energy through out your body...very powerful stuff) along with my aneros sessions an lately more preferably my anerosless sessions. Using MBA has been very intense. I used to use MBA mainly to get myself ready to project/OBE and never really thought about using it for sexual reasons. It's amazing how all these things tie in so well together using meditation to achieve amazing levels of sexual arousal/experiences.
But to answer your question, Yes whenever I use the aneros or have a anerosless session I always go into hypnagogia during the session. But then again I've been consciously exploring hynoagogia for a long time now so it only seems natural to do so since anero/aneroless sessions are so much about meditation and MBA. My problem is sometimes I fall to sleep during these sessions cause I let myself go too far into the hypnagogia and end up in a dream or lucid dream and often wake up tired and not wanting to continue with the session.
Hi artform and Billy11!
This discussion is really interesting!
I often wonder how far under I actually get with my relaxation, during a session??? This Hypnagogia sounds like a place I would like to be able to go!
As far as the HypnoFantasy sessions, I get to a place where my body is totally relaxes and my breathing slows down considerably and I feel heavy.
How would you describe Hypnagogia ???
Later, Hlaser
Thanks Billy11 and Hlaser.
Hlaser, the three characteristics that you list in Hypnofantasy seem similar to part of what Old Wolf, Darwin and I and other have discussed on Old Wolf's "Above and Beyond..." thread. Sounds like you might be in or near the "floating bliss" because you often feel heavy and floating at the same time. If not yet of Darwin's Calm Seas, you may be on the verge of embarking! Does your whole body have these feelings Hlaser?!!
Billy11, you are an adventurer. I came to what you call MBA through certain yoga practices and trantric techniques, but primarily for pain control, which I use regularly. For example, I have no "freezing" or anesthetic for even extensive dental work and cured my duodenal ulcers through focused relaxation and pain control. I have been able to do this even with Trigeminal Neuralgia, which is a truly wicked pain!
Chronic pain is why I am interested in the electric still-body orgasms and the Beyond state Old wolf has described, which puts my own E-SB-Os in context, or as Darwin is considering for the Glossary, "Calm Seas".
Can you tell us more about the varieties of your mental life during aneros and anerosless sessions? What kind of after effects do you get the day after a session? The Chairgasms/Cargasms that Hlaser and I and many others get so regularly?
To date, I have been able to keep to the conscious entry end of hypnagogia, but at the same time have only stayed in briefly with not enough time yet for dramatic imagery etc.
Do you bring back imagery experiences, aural or other senses experiences from hypnagogia or lucid dreaming during aneros or anerosless sessions?
ArtForm,
Sorry I forgot to answer this one; a Duh moment!
The answer is yes...I have these feelings throughout my body and deeply!
I think I may float some.
But, I now have a clue as to why I don't "totally" float! (a small epiphany, maybe!) I have intermittent bouts with Vertigo and I have had to mentally deal with allot of "spinning" or the "dropping into a hole" type of dizzies!
The body is an amazing thing and, in my case, I have developed ways to compensate for lack of equilibrium... This may or may not be a reason for not having a complete floating sensation??? (my body/mind may be auto-policing itself, if it brings on any type of dizzies)
This sure doesn't keep me from having ALL types of MMO's tho!
Just a theory, but to me it makes some sort of sense...

Hey Artform,
That's pretty impressive being able to manage pain like you can do. I've been through several surgeries dealing with some pretty sensitive areas of the body and have had to do the same with being able to deal with the pain(not even close to what you've talked about) though I will take the anesthetic thank you very much lol.
Well I'm steel a noob when it comes to the aneros and anerosless sessions. But so far the next day after a session I'll have pleasure waves through out the day. Often when driving they'll start up and it's just an overall buzzing feeling coming from the prostate area and circling through the body that feels really good. At work a few days ago (the day after a session) I started to feel this buzz and before I knew it I felt like I was on the verge of slipping into a aneros or aneroless session type orgasm. I work at a deli type place and was in the process of making a sandwhich with customers staring at me so it was pretty weird cause I couldn't let myself do it right there. I will sometimes get slight involuntary contractions the day after especially if I'm reading this forum. Just reading about doing this stuff can get it going. Plus I get the "whisper" as it's called on this forum way more now where I feel I must work with the sensations.
As for my mental thought process during my sessions, I'm still working on that. I've gone at it several different ways. I used to just meditate (just clear my mind) during my sessions not trying to be aroused at all and do some contractions as well as deep breathing (had my first series of super-O's on my second attempt using that technique) but in the last weeks I've been doing more sexual fantasizing during the session to begin and then go more into the meditation and breathing as well as the MBA to focus on the sensations and to help build them.
MBA... I sometimes get frustrated with terminology though I know it's neccessary to help talk about different things with each other. I just read that term recently in a book. There's so many different terms you could use for that.
As far as hypnagogia goes...Like I said previously Lucid dreaming, OBE/astal projection (again more terms I hate to use),dream work and awareness has been my biggest focus for about a decade (I'm 27). So my ability when it comes to that stuff is pretty advanced though still have so far to go. The topic of hypagogia can be pretty extensive in itself so it's hard to put down in a few sentences explaining it all. But as far as your questions go. Going into hynagogia whether it's during an aneros session or just during meditation or before sleep can be all the same. Since an aneros session can be so much like meditation I can slip into the hypnagogia very easily. Sometimes just a few scenes of a dream will take place before I am too conscious and the imagery stops and then I relax the mind and the imagery will continue. Or sometimes I can ride the perfect level of awareness (detached awareness but not asleep) and watch as the dreamscape forms itself around me. Then at one point I can be as conscious as I want because I'm far enough into trance so the consciousness doesn't disturb the imagery. From here either a lucid dream or OBE occurs depending.
Sometimes my imagery can be sexual in nature during the hypnagogia or not at all. The imagery can be very random much like when going to bed. What I bring back from my lucid dreams? Whether I have a lucid dream during an aneros session or not, it's just like any lucid dream. I have the memory of the full dream where I was aware either some or all of the dream. I haven't really noticed the aneros being in me having an impact on my lucid dream or dream. I do plan to work more from the trance state though to see if I can't help build the sensations from there better though so far I haven't been able to get to the best level of trance to make this work (I either have become too conscious and come out of it or go into a lucid dream or just fall to sleep).
I feel my sessions go much better though the lighter the trance is. So if I go too far into hynagogia or into trance it seems like it takes away from the sensations. I feel the more I mentally focus on the sensations and work with the proper timing of contractions to build the sensations that the session goes much better.

What a great post, I will have to get that book for sure.
Someone mentioned "Bliss" which happens to be the title of a session I am working on. The idea is to lead a person to that state, much like you described.. the session is part four of a series that I have available. Part ONE is available in a somewhat lower sound quality file HERE:
http://www.strawberryjamtrailerhaven.com/limited/because2.html
For those of you who want to check it out. There is no suggestion or commitment to continue the series (for those of you who tend to think there are motives behind free things) This session, by itself might get you close to where you want to go..
play save 😉

Hi guys,
I came upon this amazing thread on hypnogogia, aneros orgasms, and other affects a few minutes. I have read quite a few books on Out-of-Body-Experiences and Astro Projection. Many of these books speak "bodily vibration" during hypnogogia, the twilight period of falling asleep, between being awake and sleep itself. In the last month or so, I have gotten so much in the Aneros sessions that when I am exhausted and need to lie down, my prostate buzzes so much that I experience close to body orgasming which may be a precursor someday to OOBE's or Astro Projections.

I believe I have reached this Hypnagogia state a few times.I have felt like I am floating just I kind of float but keep bottoming out. Like being in shallow water and intermittently touching the bottom.
I seem to only be the for a very short time though.
I would be interested in knowing how to stay there longer if anyone knows how to?
If I understand the definition correctly, I've reached this state several times, and I have not achieved super-O's yet. For me I get this sort of body disassociation and sense of lost time as I allow my body and muscles to relax and let the pleasure build. My impression and experience is that as soon as I try and consciously take control of the sensations, it brings me out of that state and the pleasure decreases. The other way is that too much mind noise/chatter keeps me from going into it.
