Is it possible to sand a fine scratch out of an Aneros? Mine is 2 days old but already a good friend and whilst washing it after tonights session I noticed an almost imperceptible scratch about 3mm long. It's not severe enough to rub inside me but I'd like to resolve it. I've been so careful with it that it must have been shipped like it but again, it's not bad enough to consider a return.
This brings me to another point. I purchased from a reputable online store in the UK, linked from Aneros site. This company like many others has a returns policy for unwanted items so with this in mind wouldn't it be better if Aneros products were shrink wrapped rather than just shipped in pop open packaging?

Yes, you can sand your Aneros massager to remove the scratch. If it isn’t too deep, I would recommend using one of the foam backed fingernail file/buffer sticks to do so. These buffers usually have 3-4 grades of very fine grit abrasives that should rectify your little scratch in short order, leaving your device with a nice smooth finish once again.

But, I just wanted to add that I sometimes use this method on the
entire Aneros, just to make it slicker, smoother and move a little
easier inside you! (I use a set of fine buffing pads for this)

Hello Guys,
The matte finish is designed to hold lube better than a gloss finish, but I personally prefer the gloss finish, which by the same reasoning washes more easily.
I have the set of Peridise which I love, but however much I wash them under hot running water and plenty of soap, it is difficult to entirely wash away the odour (odor for Americans), so I'm thinking of polishing them up.
Actually I would love HIH to make the Peridise in bright polished medical grade stainless steel. I fear that if HIH don't then someone else will. Please HIH, I hope you read this. The Peridise is already the ultimate but would be even better in stainless steel. Oh, just the thought of that smooth shiny steel ...

I've used the following (in this order):
800 grit sandpaper to remove scratches (even after using a fairly coarse Dremel bit to 'modify' the contours).
Then:
1000 grit
1500 grit
2000 grit
"No. 7" rubbing compound
"Kit" brand automotive scratch remover
(the rubbing compound and scratch remover work best with some leather, but any cotton cloth will work as well).
Wash thoroughly between each grit to avoid cross-contamination of the grit sizes.

When done washing it off, I drop it in a container of rubbing alcohol. It is clean and fresh smelling the next time I use it. 🙂
