How to clean the Syn

I have had a Helix Syn for two to three weeks now. I thoroughly clean it after each use but there seems to be an odor emanating from it. I scrub it with soap and a wash cloth and then scrub with rubbing alcohol to no avail. What do you all do to keep yours clean?

@Mattp,I reckon your cleaning regime is OK but I believe if you can store the tool in a place where the air can circulate around it, the odour will eventually disappear. Certainly has with mine.

I think that the silicone absorbs some of the odour. My solution has been to anoint my SYN with a water solvable antiseptic tea tree lotion. Leave it for a while then wash it off. The silicone absorbs the tea tree fragrance. The old unpleasant odour is replaced and the new fragrance lasts for months.

With the Syn, I use KY gel.

Thanks for the comments. If others out there have more to say, please continue to comment.

Just make sure is isn't a silicone gel. That will break down the silicone of the Syn.

brine

I have the same toy, and also two other silicone toys. I gotta say the helix syn is by far the best at not holding odour, but it still does hold a little. The best way to combat it, is to replace the smell, like mentioned above with the tea tree lotion. Black tea has a powerful but mild scent, so I can definitely see that work.

Personally, I've bought an herbal anti-bacterial soap, which has a great fragrance and generally goes a long way in keeping my toys nice. That said, my worst silicone toy always holds smell. Only leaving it to dry for months will make it acceptable. At this point, I just use it as a warm up toy.
