I placed an order this past Saturday thinking it would ship Monday and be here today or Thursday at the latest. According to tracking it hasn't even been sent out yet. Just the shipping label has been created. The shipping label was created Monday. It looks like it hasn't even made it to USPS yet. I have things delivered regularly through USPS and this seems unusual that there would not be any updates in over 2 days. Normally there is an update on the tracking that says the shipment has been accepted at whatever location the package is being shipped from. Is this normal for others? What is the likelihood my package hasn't even made it to the post office yet? I'm hoping that USPS was just being lazy and didn't scan my package or something.

Sorry about that delay ! I've walked in those shoes before, having twice lived with 'strange' delays in the USPS sorting center that serves Aneros.
Perhaps this incident is a regrettable result of the storms and flooding that affected Houston.
Remember, during this wait, to not chase after Postal delivery persons or repeatedly peek out of your abode when you think a Postperson is approaching. Bookmarking the USPS website is OK though.

I didn't think about the flooding issues around there. Maybe that is what messed things up. I feel like I've been refreshing the USPS page enough for them think I was participating in a dos attack lol. Perhaps it will get out of the pre-shipment phase tomorrow. Hopefully USPS won't block my ip address from refreshing the page too many times. :))
