How Do I know?

I just received my Helix, and used it yesterday for the first time.
How do I know for sure that the device actually makes contact with the prostate?
I enjoyed my 30 minutes with it, maybe just because I had a chance to chill, but to be honest I am not sure I could really feel it was doing anything.
I'm not necessarily looking for either super-Ts, or super-Os, if they happen, they happen, but I do want to make sure the device does the job my money paid for.

Any pointers on how I can solve this riddle?

(But, hey; I can at least now understand how anyone can spend HOURS doing this, because 30 min were gone before I knew it!)

😉

bluegrass501,

You might want to do some more reading in the WIKI, here's a similar question in the Frequently Asked Questions section.

I think somewhere is a poll that showed most people using the Aneros spend about 1.5 - 2 hours doing it. At 30 minutes things are just about getting started. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. And it is a great ride:)

Hey man how you doing....

In terms of hitting your prostate, all I can say is when I hit mine for the first time today it felt weird.... the best way I can describe it is as hitting your funny bone (try and describe that too lol), once you hit it' you'll know... in a very good way!

Make sure you are chilled out and start with small, very small movements... work with your body and try drawing deeper rather than clenching.

Think like you need a crap bad and have got a turtle head poking out.... you know.... so you try and suck it back in. Thats the best way I can describe that too.... lol!

But again do everything really really slowly.... you need to pick up on the slightest of sensations!

Plus make sure you chill right out with no movement so you don't know it's even in your butt.... that'll give your body the best chance of starting to pick up all these new interesting sensations!

Good luck and hope this helps!?

Gambit

P.S let me know how you get on!!!

bluegrass501-

Did you read all the wiki? In the wiki one of the "milestones" of progress in the Getting Started link is "Identifiable contact with prostate". So it might not happen automatically.
Hang in there! It will happen. 😀

Ok Bishop fair play but how is he going to know how to hit his prostate???

No offence but the wiki seems to really general in places and written for people who seem to know what they are doing, feeling and looking for!

Hence why I've described how I hit mine and the feelings it caused.

I figured this forum was a chance to discuss experiences and help others.....

Not a place to guide people to the wiki every 5 mins like I've seen in alot of posts!

Just my two cents

Gambit

P.S this isn't attack on you, more on the general lack of helpful info and abundance of cryptic advice on here!

Cheeky Gambit,

You are correct that this Forum exists as “…a chance to discuss experiences and help others…”.
You are correct in your observation about the generalities expressed in the WIKI, but there is a good reason for this. The WIKI was compiled from information extracted from many years worth of Forum postings. If you have done much reading in the Forum, you readily see the great variety of tips and techniques that have been suggested over the years, some of these are even quite contradictory. The WIKI resulted from an effort to consolidate information which was generally true for a majority of Aneros users based upon their actual experiences. Owing to the extremely intimate, personal nature of each indvividual’s reactions to these massagers, it is impossible to be too specific about those aspects without running the danger of establishing false “standards” of performance. The WIKI represents a consensus of relevant information assembled in a coherent manner to act as a basis point for individuals to begin their journey toward the Super-O. While it does offer some specific techniques for the journey, it is more about providing support information of broad scope for the journey.

I’ve been an Aneros user for about 21 months now but If I were a new user and read your description of the feelings you experienced when you found your prostate I would still be thinking I had not found mine because I have never felt the sensations which you so vividly describe. This fact pointedly illustrates the great variability of individual reactions with these massagers and the fact there is NO specific formula for successfully employing them. Every individual needs to take the time to become attuned to his/her body.

Please understand the WIKI is meant to be an evolving repository of helpful information. If you have helpful information that you think should be included in the WIKI, please submit it for consideration, we would welcome your useful input. Also, you are encouraged to submit text to resolve any “…cryptic advice…” you find here, we want the information to be clear and practical. The pro-active participation of the membership is what will make the WIKI a more useful and valuable resource for present and future Aneros users.

Hi Cheeky-

Perhaps I do reply to a lot of questions on the board with the answer "read the wiki". But there is a wealth of information in there. Wiki is like kind of a instruction manual (or the best we have) on the aneros (and you know how most people loath to read the instructions!). And yes, it is very general. The only other thing I can tell you is how I had any progress was controlled breathing and (hopefully) reaching a mediative state, takes about 20 minutes. Then *BAM* the aneros turned on 💡 . But this did not happen over night, about four months practice.
Good luck on your journey....

I appreciate all the feedback, although I did not intend to start an argument .
Rumel, I had read that question in the wiki, and found it worse than vague; to me it actually didn't say anything significant, since my whole purpose has been to do prostate massage. For that reason alone I need to know it is really making contact, that's all.

Here's what I have felt:
Typically when I masturbate, I am left with a kind of 'ache' down there afterwards, unlike normal sex with my mate, which doesn't do that.
Yesterday I decide to shoot for a 'hands free' just to see if I could.
I started by watching a video, then inserted helix, and began watching a longer, more intense video as I used the device, I was still flaccid at this point.
As I got into the video, I had only minor contact with the penis, concentrating on the aneros.
That minor contact was enough to start the ball rolling (or balls rolling, as it were), still flaccid.
Soon the pipes began to empty, and it started hardening, is the best way to describe it
I manually finished the orgasm, but noted the following;

1) As orgasm came, the helix began trying to slip out, and I made a conscious effort to stop it.
2) Afterwards there was no 'ache', the whole experience was restful and fulfilling.

🙂

Bluegrass, FYI, the Helix never worked for me and it still doesn't. I tried the original MGX and bam! I new something was up as soon as I inserted it. I think people are different and therefore no matter how much everyone on this forum speak highly of the Helix I suggest you not be timid about trying different models. It's well worth the investment. After I final found a good fit I now would rather stay at home with my Aneros than go bar hopping. It has saved me a fortune.!!!

Out of curiosity; how tall are you?
I'm wondering if that could have something to do with it.

Hmm -- has anyone considered designing an adjustable Aneros? Something that would telescope a few centimeters for optimal placement?

Hi bluegrass501 and company.

Certainly the different Aneros models bring different responses and results for different men with anatomical variations. Like JIH, my Helix is the least successful and least mobile for me. My first model over my first year, the MGX, taught my body much of this Aneros cultural responses/rewiring system. My Eupho is like Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers dancing all over and around my prostate most palpably. 😀 We are all different. I'm tall at over 6'4".

The surest way to identify your prostate and learn to sense when it is being stimulated is to clip your middle fingernail, lube-up, insert, explore in there and feel for it yourself. You will also feel other sensitive tissues behind your frontal rectum wall as you get to your prostate; the root/base of your penis, Cowper's Gland, perhaps your seminal vesicles nearby, and the varied sensations in all of this wonderfully sensitive/creative anatomy. Go slowly, gently and exert pressure delicately. The prostate loves to be gently caressed...

Hope this doesn't put you off, butt this is the most direct route to answering your question. 😉

all the best

That's good feedback, I am 6'3" myself.
I'll try the manual method and see what results I get.

Well,
I decided to just bite the bullet and jump right into fixing the prostate problem, so I ordered a Progasm to go along with my Helix. That gives me one on both ends of the size spectrum, and SURELY one or the other will do what it takes!
Wish me luck guys, otherwise I may have to have an overstock sale on Aneros items 😆
