Help with condom method

So i have been lurking around for years and read quite a bit about all of the tips and tricks that help with the journey.

I have an sgx and mgx and through trial and error found a few things that work and things that dont.

I feel every time i am about to pass over into a super o or maybe just a mini o, i find that is about the time the lube runs out.

maybe its just me but i try to relax and forget about it, trying to get back towards the edge, i cant seem to do it, and when i pull out the aneros it feels kind of dry.

nothing like it felt when i put it in all lubed up.

I have tried several lubes but nothing seems to work so i figured i would try the condom method.

The first time i tied a knot that came loose and lost most of the lube and movement was restricted
so on try 2 i put a tight rubber band around it the condom and p-tab
which worked well but i still found that most of the lube was around the bottom of the aneros
it filled up the condom around the p-tab and i feel maybe restricted movement.

so a few ?'s
how much is the proper amount of lube in the condom?
should i tie it off at the bottom of the main shaft, ie on the last ridge?
and is how i feel about the lube running dry possible or just a figment of my imagination preventing me from progressing?

Thanks all!
btw i am currently using AstroGlide but have tried many others.

Just enough lube inside the condom so that the Aneros slides easily -- 1ml should be sufficient and 2ml is probably too much. Slide in the Aneros and get most of the air out. Don't stretch the condom over the tabs and don't tie it off. (we want most of the action to take place inside the condom.) If the re-enforcing ring on the condom is troublesome, consider shaving to avoid hair-snags.

Lube yourself and/or the outside of the condom sufficiently to ease insertion. Lube choice isn't critical.

Inexpensive condoms work fine. If you want a bit of anal fun to accompany your prostate play, pick up some "her joy" condoms with ribs on the lower shaft.
