Curiosity got the best of me so i bought the Helix. Have only tried it about 6 times nothing really to speak of other than a few good sensations. My question is every time i have tried it i never get an erection, is this normal or am i doing this wrong?

Normal.
Nothing's wrong. There's really no direct relationship between prostate massage with the Aneros and penile erection. Sometimes we erect involuntarily most times we don't.
This works well since an erection is usually a distraction from the mental and whole body focus leading to a dry orgasm.
Should you opt on having a Super-T following a dry-O session you'll usually find that the Helix will compliment your penile arousal.
Relax and enjoy those "good sensations."
Hi VNQ65,
Welcome to the Aneros Forums, your best source of information for learning about the multiple benefits and joys of using the Aneros prostate massagers. Your questions, "...I never get an erection, is this normal or am I doing this wrong?" is frequently asked.
First off, to allay your fears, YES, this is perfectly normal for many men. Just why this happens is somewhat a mystery but having a flaccid penis does not impede your ability to enjoy all the benefits and pleasures of Aneros use. Being concerned about penile sensations or erections may prove counterproductive to your journey. I encourage you to read the Penis, NOT! thread by 'Cockadoodle' and 'rook's thread Whole Body/Whole Mind - the mental side for a little insight into the new thought paradigm necessary for optimal Aneros use.
The answer to the second part of your question is probably NO. While there are some manual manipulations of your massager you should avoid and some inappropriate preparations/techniques to stay away from, instead of thinking in terms of 'right or wrong' it may be more fruitful to think in terms of 'effective or non-effective'. Since each man has a unique mental and physical character, his successful techniques are likely to be unique to him as well. A technique which is very effective for one man may have little to no effect on you and vice versa. The journey you have begun is very much about you experimenting, learning, tuning into and listening to your body in a manner you may never have done before. I very much encourage you to read the "Aneros Basics", "Getting Started" & "The Super-O" sections of the Aneros WIKI.
P.S. I sent you an introductory PM with some additional hints and tips to get you started here.
