I thin I have read something on this topic once before but wanted to re visit and see if anyone else has encountered this. Sometimes when I get my Helix synn out of the box it is covered in a white powdery material. Very fine like flour almost. I wash it well after use and it does not happen all the time. could it be a residue from the soap or lube? like i said i do wash it with warm soap and water before and after each use. Seems strange and it has happened more than one time. any thoughts?

It happens to mine occasionally also. I always use the same lube but the soap varies so I am guessing its the soap. I guess it could be the lube if no washed enough but im usually pretty diligent about washing it good.

Yes, this has been reported before. Some people believe it is soap residue, lube residue or mold spores. I personally think it is simply common dust in the atmosphere that gets attracted to the silicone surface of the Helix SYN, Eupho SYN, Vice & DeVice models. I think this very fine dust gets attracted by a small static electrical charge which is imparted to the surface after washing when you dry it off with a towel. I don't believe it is anything to be concerned about, it is probably mostly your own dead skin cells which we humans lose millions of every day. Your washing before and after each use is fine.
Good Vibes to You !

@sfs these units are prone to develop mold if left exposed to humidity for too long. After letting mine soak (using a solution containing a bit of bleach) for several hours, then washing it, I leave it sitting on top of the box for a few hours before putting it away. This allows it to dry thoroughly. The box containing it should be kept in a dry area.
