While washing my classic Helix Syn I broke the abutment arm (black side) where the only thing holding it in place is the outer flexible coating.

Anyone else experienced this; is it useless?

I don't see why it would be no longer usable. The original helix had a finger loop that most people cut off and that model worked fine. I'd say give it a try as long as it won't poke you and cause pain. Will be interesting to see if others have had a similar experience of breakage.

@somebody  thanks for responding.   I would agree with you if the broken part was the curly red back arm but it's the perineum arm that broke.  It's no longer applying pressure on the perineum.

Ah, I was unaware that it was the front or perineum arm that broke off as I'm not familiar with the syn model. I guess I should have looked it up before responding. My bad.

Without that arm the dynamics of the design is completely changed and might not work very good or for some it might not make any difference at all and work just fine. It might not hurt just to give it a try for the sake of saying you tried it.

Duct tape?  I mean at this point you can't ruin it...
